"No One Walks The Trail Alone." Lama Ent. has revealed the official trailer for an indie drama called The Keeper, opening in theaters this Memorial Day weekend in May. Based on a true story. Heavily impacted by his fellow veteran's suicides, George Eshleman, an Army Veteran, decides to raise awareness for military member suicides by hiking the entire nearly 2,200-mile Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia. On the trek, he carries 363 name tapes from the uniforms of military who committed suicide, given to him by their families. Along the way he is given the trail name of "The Keeper" (of the names) and finds support and comfort from fellow hikers, civilians, and military Veterans alike, in the "Hiker Universe." This adventurous subculture forms a network of hikers that revel in their common purpose and an unspoken meaning of life that drives them down the trail and over the next peak.

The fact of the matter is that JustPressPlay get lots of stuff sent to us, and what we don't review we usually pass on to our readers. Over the last year or two we've accumulated a pile of random titles that either didn't get claimed in giveaways and contests or who knows what. Perhaps a Russian spy intervened in our attempts to distribute them. We don't know. All we know is that we have 6 separate packs of 5 randomly selected titles (on DVD and Blu-ray) that we'll give to 6 random readers. They're all unopened, so if you're needing some stocking stuffers on the cheap - come on and enter. And no, we don't gift wrap.
Read on to learn how to win and a sample list of some of the better titles sprinkled in these packs of random awesome.

Some new images and clip from Steve “Stone Cold” Austin’s new actioner “Hunt to Kill”. As opposed to, you know, hunting to eat, or hunting to mount on your wall. Hey, I’m sure it’s not for everyone, but I’m sure it’s excellent what some people are looking for to past the time. Ahem. That’s former wrestler Steve “Stone Cold” Austin in a new action movie called “Hunt to Kill”. And guess who he’s hunting (to, er, kill), it’s that guy from “Ally McBeal”! I shit you not. That alone should make this a worthy rental, right? I mean, he’s got evil looking facial hair and everything! (The guy from “Ally McBeal”, I mean, not Austin. He’s got facial hair, too, but it’s of the ‘I’m a righteous badass’ type of facial hair, so it’s cool.) Okay, this has gone on long enough. Steven Seagal ceased to be a legitimate action star somewhere in the 90s. Yet, he persists. Call it pride. Call it obstinate. Call it ignorance. The man just doesn’t realize that he never really had anything to begin with. Under Siege. That’s right. 1992’s mediocre flick aboard a submarine somehow convinced the world this man had potential. Above the Law? Hard to Kill? They were mere trifles. Under Siege began the hideous onslaught of subpar acting, poorly choreographed stunt work, and plots so thin they were envied by Kate Moss for their figure. As Seagal’s career progressed, he’d pop up on the mainstream radar here and there with films like The Glimmer Man (for being so despicably awful), Exit Wounds (for being awful, but with Dmx), and then…nothing. Seagal’s career finally realized where it was and resigned...

These days, it’s good to be a Steven Seagal fan. If A&E’s reality series “Steven Seagal: Lawman” isn’t enough to keep you fat and satisfied, you can currently find dozens of copies of the aikido wizard’s 2009 epic “The Keeper” on video store shelves across North America at this very moment. However, everyone knows that Seagal fans are insatiable, basement-dwelling freaks who need a fix every few months, which may explain why “A Dangerous Man” is currently scheduled to break your wrists on February 9th. I’m sure Paramount’s decision to release this thing now has nothing to do with the popularity of Seagal’s television program. Absolutely nothing whatsoever. Here’s what the picture’s all about: Action legend Steven Seagal stars as Shane Daniels, an ex-Special Forces operative released from prison after serving six years hard time for a murder he didn’t commit.

Des Moines - During the 20th Century when a young boy or girl wanted to know how to be an adult, they’d learn from the movies. This education was not from merely emulating the stars in Hollywood films. There were thousands of movies made for the classrooms that covered nearly every subject a young mind needed to absorb. And thousands of those 16mm films found their way into Skip Elsheimer’s A/V Geeks educational film center.
Skip tours the country giving presentations of the films in various theaters, museums, art galleries and occasionally a classroom. He’s sharing another batch of gems in two new DVD sets from Kino. How to Be a Woman and How to Be a Man are instructional, inspirational and horrific. Strange to see what professionals thought was great advice. Here’s a little sampler from How to Be a Woman:

Boogie Nights and Magnolia (Blu-ray) I love both of these films and will be reviewing both of these Blu-rays together very shortly, I have simply been pressed for time lately and have not had a chance to watch either of them as of yet primarily because simply watching both of these films before even delving into the features is almost six hours of movie watching. That said, neither disc offers any new supplements with all of the previous features from earlier DVD releases carried over to these new releases. I have also read the picture quality on each are excellent so should you be interested in upgrading your current editions these sound like safe bets. Che (Criterion Collection) My extremely long review is online for you to read and I also brought this title up in an editorial last week.

Very quietly, with little to no fanfare whatsoever, Steven Seagal’s latest direct-to-video escapade “The Keeper” made its Region 2 DVD debut on October 19th. How this one slipped past my Seagal-centric radar system is truly perplexing, and may suggest that my second-hand equipment is in desperate need of an upgrade. The film — directed by Keoni Waxman and written by Seagal himself — actually looks pretty good, though it seems to share the same basic concept as Tony Scott’s “Man on Fire.” The specifics may be different, but the emotional investment is pretty much identical. Regardless, Seagal is back. Again. Of course, I’m sure most you probably don’t care, and that’s perfectly okay. Here’s the official word on the street regarding the plot: Seagal stars as a tough California cop who flees to New Mexico when his corrupt partner makes an attempt on his life. Starting over again in his new surroundings,...

You see now This ... this is what I'm talking about! Never mind the comeback movies of Stallone or even Jcvd ... When Steven Seagal makes his comeback he's gonna be kicking the shit out of vampires! Can I get an Amen?!?
Sony Pictures' upcoming release of Against the Dark (formerly called Last Night) will find Seagal amidst all manner of toothy mayhem.
From the official synopsis:
"Katana master Tao (Steven Seagal) leads a special ops squad of ex-military vigilantes on a massacre mission, their target: vampires. On the post apocalyptic globe, sucked dry by bloodthirsty vampires, a few remaining survivors are trapped in an infected hospital. Tao is their only hope and he knows the only cure is execution. Now it’s time for the last stand against the flesh-eating vampires and there’s nothing left to lose but the last of humanity."
