London -- BBC Worldwide production boss Wayne Garvie has hired Zodiak Entertainment's Matt Paice to take charge of ramping up the BBC's international format business in the post of BBC Worldwide exeutive vp international production, replacing Colin Jarvis.
Paice, who has looked after such shows as "Beat the Star" and "Election" while at Zodiak's U.K. division Diverse Prods., will be charged with overseeing the format sales and development team in London as well as BBC Worldwide's production operations in India, France, Germany and Australia.
He will work closely with BBC Worldwide's East and West coast operations to launch new format ideas as well as overseeing established formats including "Dancing With the Stars," "Top Gear and "The Office"
Before joining Diverse, Paice was commissioning editor at Sky 1 and controller of the Virgin Media-owned channel Bravo.
"We've spent the past two years establishing a formidable network of studios and partnerships around the world,...
