It was nice and not horrible, with Homer being tempted by another girl. But it's definitely not like "The Last Temptation of Homer", which worked extremely well.

An Alright Episode
BadnikCritic3 October 2021
I thought this episode was alright. It had decent jokes like the ones involving Mr. Burns and the femme fatale. The plot was somewhat interesting. I don't have much more to say. It does seem to have some similarities with another episode called "Last Temptation of Homer" though, which I haven't watched.
Worst. Episode. Ever.

Another "Will They....?" Episode

Warning: Spoilers
Now that we have moved on from tall tales, its time to be back in the actual Simpson world. But now I wish I can go back. This episode is basically a rehash of many, many episodes, where Homer meets a woman, nearly falls in love, but stays with Marge. We have seen this many, many times before, and we all know Homer is going to stay with Marge, so what's the point watching this episode. Lily wasn't an interesting character, which doesn't help. The subplot with Marge and the kids on vacation was a better plot, being more entertaining. The animation is fine but it doesn't help this generic episode.

Not for kids
phillyboots15 November 2022
Kids won't get the Brit humor, the New England tourist humor, the adult relationships, the puns, or probably even the title reference. Ms Coleman is perfect, as are the usual characters, particularly at Moe's. Loved the Moe's pic upside down. Simpsons shows have a very high standard and this one tics every box for the mature long time fan.
I love the Simpsons and marvel that it remains hilarious. I get away from it sometimes seasons at a time. However now that I have Disney+ I can go and see the one I missed such as this gem. I gave this a 9 star because I reserve 10s for Treehouse episodes and a few others.

Who was this episode meant for?
soulfx-111 March 2022
The entire episode feels like it's referencing an obscure movie or tv show that you need to have watched to find this remotely funny.
The story consists of a British lady who travels to Sprinfield and everyone falls in love with her. She ends up trying to romance Homer because he's not into her - and it feels like another rehashing of Homer & Mindy or Homer and Larleen or Homer and any number of celebrity guests from Jessica Simpson to Julianna Margolis as Homer's opera bodyguard.
It's one of the worst episodes in the more recent seasons of The Simpsons. They're relying on niche celebrity cameos to drive viewership. From the really weirdly voiced Marge and her (intentionally) terrible singing to jokes that fall flat because they're inside jokes amongst the script writers, this is a bad episode.

Weirdest Homer Romance Episode
TheIrishJackomon6 December 2021
This was yet another episode that was weird, and while I did enjoy the previous episode before (which is the Treehouse of Horror episode), this was another episode of Season 32 that I disilked. Basically, a woman who is admired a lot in England comes to Springfield and falls in love with Homer, and Homer tries to avoid her while Marge, Bart & Lisa are out on holidays. Lily (the character who falls in love with Homer) was really annoying, trying to get Homer even thou he told her he was married. If there is a positive, its that Marge doesn't find out. Also, Marge's singing at the end of the episode, even if it was intentionally made to sound the way it did, was awful.

Warning: Spoilers
Okay, yes I'm one of those Golden Years fans where I think the first 10 seasons were the gold episodes of The Simpsons, but still I'm lenient and fair when it comes to the later episodes. But I'm sorry, The 7 Beer Itch really fell way below standard, and really I can't rate it anything more than three stars.
I wanted The 7 Beer Itch to work, especially with British actress Olivia Coleman (who beat Glenn Close to win an Oscar fairly or not) guest starring. But this episode was sadly all over the place. I don't think the production team can blame the pandemic because this would have been produced well before then.

Creepy...

The temptress du jour of 'The 7 Beer Itch' is perhaps the weakest of the lot.
Despite being framed as a ~loveable~ figure that has men falling at her feet, she's a borderline stalker who, when her advances are declined, responds by forcing herself on Homer.
Contrast that against Mindy from 'The Last Temptation of Homer', who made it clear that Homer didn't have to do anything he didn't want to.
She was a romantic figure, Lily is just a sexual predator.
To make things worse, the episode tries very hard to be funny, but misses the mark more times than not. The episode was always live in the shadow of its aforementioned antecedent, but this still doesn't stand on its own merits.
A generous 5/10.
