We don't know about you, but we've given up on trying to suss out any clues as to what wedding dress Kate Middleton has chosen to wear. Incidentally, we've also given up on trying to book last minute tickets to London for April 29 without first having to promise British Airways our firstborn child (damn those peak weekend conversion rates!). But it's Google to the rescue, as they've given us the next best thing to being there (well, second next best thing to being there—our livestream of the festivities, of course, being the first) as they've released a virtual 3-D tour of the royal wedding route. No matter. Console yourself with a hot cuppa tea and this handy-dandy royals'...

It seems like filmmakers are understanding that fans don’t enjoy seeing films converted to 3D in post-production. Warner Bros. has already chose to not convert Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows in 3D (here), and according to special effects artist, Hyaena Gallery, Piranha 3Dd will be avoiding that as well. Gallery spoke with Bloody-Disgusting about that issue and confirmed it will be shot with 3D cameras. “Yeah. would be shot using 3-D cameras. I think John [Gulager]’s actually at Panasonic this weekend, doing a 3-D tour,” he said.
It’s unknown if director James Cameron’s remarks (here) about Piranha 3D had anything to do with the decision, but it’s likely the decision was made to improve the quality of the film’s 3D effects. Gallery also mentioned that Piranha 3Dd will feature more over-the-top gore, and of course, boobs. “It’s gonna be blood and tits ahoy,...

Amazon Watch and International Rivers have teamed up to create a state-of-the-art 10-minute Google Earth 3-D tour and video narrated by actress Sigourney Weaver, with technical assistance from Google Earth Outreach, in support of Brazil’s Movimento Xingu Vivo Para Sempre (Xingu River Forever Alive Movement).
The video and tour allow viewers to learn about the harmful impacts of, and alternatives to the massive Belo Monte Dam Complex on the Amazon’s Xingu River. A Portuguese version of the video and tour, narrated by well-known Brazilian actor Dira Paes, will be launched next week.
The interactive tour and video call attention to the Belo Monte Dam, which, if built, would be the third-largest hydroelectric dam in the world. The dam would divert the flow of the Xingu River, one of the most important tributaries of the Amazon River, in order to produce electricity for industrial mining operations in the region.

Update - Chud.com has debunked this story through a conversation with Jamie Landau, son of Jon Landau, Cameron’s producer.
So this is something I never thought I would read in the same sentence but apparently the Black Eyed Peas are teaming up with director James Cameron.
Vibe is reporting that Cameron will be directing a 3D concert film for The Black Eyed Peas as his next film. Frontman Will i Am broke the news to the site and here is an excerpt from the article.
“Right now we are planning our 3-D tour movie and James Cameron is directing it,” Will i Am tells Vibe. “We have the biggest director because we are the biggest group on the planet. The Peas are filming it in South America. People will be able to see us in the theater with the 3-D glasses and everything.”

Really? James Cameron's directing a concert movie? And apparently he digs the Black Eyed Peas? I think I just walked through the looking glass, Alice.
Will.i.am tells Vibe that the band is making plans for the film, which shouldn't be a surprise since they recently completed work on a concert event for Fathom, a company that beams things like this and Opera from the Met and Ufc fights to hundreds of theaters around the country. However, Cameron is a big step up. And a pretty odd move, frankly.
"Right now we are planning our 3-D tour movie and James Cameron is directing it," said will.i.am. "We have the biggest director because we are the biggest group on the planet," he went on showcasing his modesty.

Black Eyed Peas have just revealed to Vibe magazine that the band is planning to next appear in theaters in a 3D concert film to be directed by "Avatar" helmer James Cameron. "Right now we are planning our 3-D tour movie and James Cameron is directing it," said will.i.am. "We have the biggest director because we are the biggest group on the planet. The Peas are filming it in South America. People will be able to see us in the theater with the 3-D glasses and everything." He continued: "There will be a storyline that [Cameron] came up with, which will be dope. It's a full-length film and it's based around our tour activities. We've toured from America and Europe, to the Middle East, South America, Asia and Africa. It's not like we go, 'Yo, we are international, you know what I'm saying? London and Paris!' Nah,...

Update: The son of Cameron producer Jon Landau told Chud this story is false. Which is both relieving and, in a way, sort of a shame. Original article follows. Is it April first? Because I can't figure out any other reason that will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas would be claiming that James Cameron is directing a concert film for the plastic pop band. Unless Cameron actually is doing the film, in which case...what? will.i.am tells Vibe, Right now we are planning our 3-D tour movie and James Cameron is directing it...We have the biggest director because we are the biggest group on the planet. The Peas are filming it in South America. People will be able to see us in the theater with the 3-D glasses and everything. Even better, this won't just be some flashy 3D Black Eyed Peas on-stage equivalent of gonzo porn.

Update: According to Chud.com, this has been debunked. What. The. Shit. Everyone has been speculating about James Cameron's next project for a while now. What will it be? An Avatar sequel? Battle Angel? Nope, all wrong. It’s a Black Eyed Peas 3D concert movie. Yup. Black Eyed Peas front-man will.i.am said so in a recent interview with Vibe magazine; apparently, the Avatar master, James Cameron, has signed on to direct a 3-D film based on their worldwide tour.
“Right now, we are planning our 3-D tour movie, and James Cameron is directing it… We have the biggest director, because we are the biggest group on the planet. The Peas are filming it in South America. People will be able to see us in the theater with the 3-D glasses and everything,” says will.i.am.
It’s reportedly a full-length feature film, with a storyline of some kind, based on the tour, with the plan being to release it in theaters early next year. “There will be a storyline that [Cameron] came up with, which will be dope,” will.i.am adds.
But it won’t just be shot in South Africa alone…...

The Anne Frank Museum has launched a virtual tour of the house where the diarist hid from the Nazis during World War II. The reconstruction shows the Amsterdam house as it was over 60 years ago, and has a bunch of extra features, including text and films to show the teenager's incarceration as it was.
The museum's 3-D tour is a great tool to keep the public interested in something that is rapidly fading from the world's collective memory, as, each day, there are fewer survivors of WWII and the Holocaust to tell the tale. The museum enlisted the services of Dutch interactive agency LBi Lost Boys to develop the site, and received funding from the BankGiro Lottery, and the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport in the Netherlands. The Dutch authorities have planned a church service for today to celebrate the museum's golden jubilee, which will be attended by Queen Beatrix.

Small-screen portable media players like iPods may be the all-time worst place to watch movies, but airplanes run a close second - so much so, in fact, that folks will often use that dubious option as a barometer for their interest in them. The truth is that I watched the majority of D Tour on an airplane because I had no other option, but it's a testament to the effectiveness of the film that I was inspired and moved to tears despite having to do so. A documentary about Rogue Wave drummer Pat Spurgeon dealing with the demands of a debilitating kidney disease, temporary or ineffective treatments, and the search for a permanent cure while meeting the demands of a grueling tour schedule, D Tour is a powerful, evocative and deeply personal story.

Director: Jim Granato Pat Spurgeon is a musician whose lifelong dream of being in a successful rock band is coming true with his band Rogue Wave. Unfortunately, just as Rogue Wave starts to take off, Spurgeon’s kidney (a transplant he received 13 years prior) begins to show signs of failing. As a career musician, Spurgeon is uninsured and has no “back-up plan.” Faced with twice a day dialysis and a search for a new kidney, Spurgeon simultaneously prepares to embark on a grueling tour with Rogue Wave because he does not want to forfeit his lifelong dream (and career). The tour is nicknamed the “D tour” because Spurgeon needs to get a “D” (for dialysis) fix twice a day. D Tour follows Spurgeon on his rocky and emotional quest for a matching kidney and overall health. Produced, directed, shot and co-edited by Jim Granato D Tour deals with two seminal...
