During the opening monologue, Skelton tells several jokes about sleeping and snoring. Seagulls Gertrude and Heathcliffe appear for a gag. Red concludes the monologue with a pantomime of a man who lays out all of his clothes for the next morning so that he can catch a few more minutes of snooze, then sleepwalks during the night and puts the clothes all back in the closet and dresser. The Burgundy Street Singers perform "Let's Get Together." The title of the Silent Spot is "Pit Stop Mechanic" in which Red mimes a clumsy, slow pit stop mechanic and Jan Arvan plays the unfortunate race car driver.
This is the last of the original episodes on network TV. This episode was actually taped in September 1970 and was scheduled and postponed several times. It's a shame that this turned out to be the final original episode of Red's 20-year series because many archived newspapers panned it as not-very-funny.
