This was such a strong and an emotional episode. It was worth the ride to get here. There were times I didn't understand Alex. I didn't fully realize what she was going through but episodes 8 and 9 were so powerful it was hard to watch. A journey worth taking.

Easily my favourite episode

As someone who was both a victim and a perpetrator of domestic abuse, it's simultaneously heart warming and heart breaking to watch this episode play out. Sean continues being a narcissistic poopy head as Alex makes incredible progress to take her own life back.

There's Beauty Everywhere...

This show was a big surprise... I thought it was just a drama series, but it has great cinematography, great actors and a very inspiring story.
But the thing I like the most it's how it shows you that you can find happiness and beauty everywhere, even in the most desperate situations.
Bravo!

Phenomenal.

This whole series has been breathtaking, but this episode had me sobbing and my heart hurting. As someone who has been a victim of DV, the patterns are all too familiar. Watching this character go through the same things nearly every victim does, and portray it so phenomenally well, is so validating. This episode was the best of the series. Hands down.

Episode Nine - Azul-Celeste
How much I cried as the cycle continued and Alex's daughter repeated the same thing Alex did when she was a child and saw her father beating her own mother.
By the way, about Alex's father, he is so changed, so Christian that he let Sean shout and boss Alex around, Mr. Hypocrisy personified.
I keep imagining who works in these shelters and feels empathy for these victims, imagine how much it hurts to see these women returning to their attackers and some women return and die, it must be very difficult and not being able to do anything.
Speaking of cycles, while Alex apparently managed to escape her cycle of aggression, her mother apparently couldn't.
I never imagined that Regina would be so sweet with Alex, the whole sequence of Alex looking for her daughter and finding her in the closet (just like her mother found her) and then Regina and taking her to the shelter, was heartbreaking .
I swear I don't understand people who write that they don't feel empathy for Alex, what do you need to feel empathy for someone? Would a person being beaten to death have your empathy? Or would I also be called stupid?
Writing that the victim should do this or that is very easy.

Warning: Spoilers
1. Alex goes to shelter
2. Alex gets a gig
3. Alex talks with a lawyer
Alex is back at the shelter after another outbreak. From the dinner encounter, we can tell that it's not the drinks that necessarily brings the violence out of Sean because it's implied that he's been sober for a minute. Regina came in clutch many times but her character has been one of the best supporting characters in this show.
Good things start happening to Alex - getting a phone, a lawyer to help her through the process of obtaining full custody...etc. Alex is really at her best when she is away from the house and independent. I LOVED that they included people struggling with hoarding disorder in this episode. It's condition that doesn't get a lot of attention in media but also it was integrated well to the plot in a way that is helpful for Alex. Couldn't ask fora better way to do it.
I had little tears when Paula said she was proud of Alex. This relationship is one of the deepest, most human relationships I've seen on TV for a while and it only gets better. Great casting honestly.
