In the taxi, Jim and Jeff discuss how brilliant The Dark Knight (2008) is. At the time of filming, The Dark Knight was 5 weeks away from opening. The director included the dialogue in the script because he was confident that Christopher Nolan wouldn't let him down. He saw it three times in the week it opened, considering it the best film of 2008 - even better than his character said it was.
The first, third, forth and seventh shots were all done in one take each. The second shot (Jim in the car) was re-shot later on, the fifth shot (Jim and Jeff by the river) required three takes to get the dialogue right, and the sixth shot (Jim and Jeff in the car) required four takes to get the timing and the dialogue right.
