Severance package

Warning: Spoilers
Great series overall, as anticipated. The performances are stellar. Direction, creative and editing are excellent. The series surely tries to convey multiple messages about trauma and what one is willing to sacrifice, in order to avoid dealing with it, as well as corporatism, the human mind etc. The premise reminded me of one of the greatest films ever imho, the eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, but they clearly differ in every other aspect. Every episode is great, but episode 4 was building tension from the start, with the harrowing experience in the Break Room for Helly, to the, not so subconscious after all, yearning between Irving and Burt and finally to Petey's funeral and the last scene in the elevator (idw to spoil this for anyone). After watching the first 3 episodes I was certain the Microdata Refinement Department's "severed" employees were guinea pigs for this severance procedure, but after the latest episode I'm not so sure anymore. And that's the beauty of a great series. It engages you, it makes you constantly devising and revising theories. Turturro and Walken were a delight. Patricia Arquette is absolutely creepy. I'm a very big fan so far, kudos to everyone involved!

Game over

I always wondered how people actually believed in cults or what not, i now kinda know how or why.

This is a good mid-season finale, a lot of questions yet to be answered and all the answers to the characters are just the scratch, amazing work.

Was about to give up on this series, gave it a last chance
matikovokitam4 March 2022
Wow am I lucky. Previous episodes were ok. Well done. Interesting. I read a lot and only stick to tv or movies if they entertain me more than the books I am reading. So again I was about to give up on another well made series. But Alas I gave it one last try and, for the first time with this one, both my intellect and emotional side are fulfilled and I am eager to watch the next episode ! Sorry that this is a thank you more than a review ! I think you have to see it to know if it is worth it for you ! Please Severance creators, keep feeding my soul !

Answering questions with terrifying answers

Warning: Spoilers
The end of this episode really starts to pull things together. All the the characters start to have some form of awakening and you see it all happening at once in this amazing edit. Side characters in the office are explored more while we get introduced to new characters outside of Lumon. Each of our main characters comes in contact with some kind of clue that seems to lead the story further for all of them in there own way (the the worst of it being that Halie tries to hang herself in the elevator)

Really enjoy the direction this show is going. I think they really care about the story they are tying to tell and the actors are doing a phenomenal job at showing us that.

Great

Still keeping the same quality as the first 3 episodes, although this one is a little slower paced and less interesting at times than the other 3. Still great though.

Got good in the end
Mesina022 October 2022
This was relatively a quiet episode and though I will not say I got bored watching it, there was nothing that happened the peaked my interest, well not until the end.

Most of the characters go through their own things in this episode and I do think it was just to further their storylines. Helly's and Mark's stories continue to be the best in the show and Irv's is okay but its somehow intriguing at the same time.

There's a good chunk of the episode where it basically replays the third episode from a story beats perspective. The last 5 minutes was where stuff actually got interesting and I'm kind of mixed on shows doing this stuff because the entirety of the episode could be dead, and they just bring out the excitement just to end on a cliffhanger. But it is what it is, and this episode barely gets a pass because of that.

Episode 4

Warning: Spoilers
Not a bad episode, but this felt like they went in the wrong direction and took away from the sci-fi aspect to make it more of a corporate corruption one. Didn't like the development at the funeral.

Slow and boring

Two quotes from this episode exemplify well my feelings towards this TV series:

"It is important and mysterious work" (platitudes to describe the script)

"I could not, with a razor to my throat, be less interested"

[6.6] H for hell - code #4.01

Warning: Spoilers
Episode 4: The mumbo continuing in a more awakening mode for almost all the "lurons" in that ?1980? Company. We see sets of pictures, photography and developing acting without true meaning in the truest form of a 'philosophical' explanation.

What I found the greatest in this episode were the books and what was written in them. That showed quality, that bore awesomeness.

As far as the ending is concerned, a pity for that character that was quite an interesting one. Hope she's not floating in limbo and would be back.

If anyone should be in limbo, not being able to escape, that would be Harmony.
