Still Watching BUT...
CzyboutFlix27 August 2021
Yep, I feel the woke-ness Police at work but heck, times HAVE changed and Hollywood is trying to cash in on that awareness or at least playing to it. Yes, turn off the TV or select another channel if you have issues with the direction of the show. Your prerogative. Giving this show a 1 star means it has zero entertainment value and that's just not fair for a show that mixes fun and silly episodes with some thought provoking and insightful theater. Bottom line is do you still like the main characters?

Anyway...all this to say, I'm still watching because I know from past experience, Nathan will regain the balance and stick the landing.

Ignore bigots and Incels.
mjackiw-165-31389617 April 2021
It's clear the Rookie is being targeted by the same people who go social media hopping to spread their hatred and ignorance of anything they don't approve of. They use words like "woke" and "snowflakes" exposing what they are, which is basically hating everything an all inclusive nation like the USA should be. The Rookie has nailed what our society is struggling with so ignore them and enjoy the series and voice your support.

Lucy Chen Undercover? Yes Please.
SourCandyOrNoCandy27 April 2022
I swear that each time I get attached to Jackson's love interest, they give him a new one. I like Issac but I also really liked the nurse (he was my favourite) and the actor.

Best parts of the episode?

  • Seeing Lucy undercover was fascinating. I hope that we see more of that in the future. I always love when we see Harper doing her thing, so seeing her and Chen together was great.

  • That last scene with June, Harper, Chen and Tamara. I loved everything about it. I love anytime Tamara is in an episode actually. She's a great character.

  • The fact that Officer Smitty is Jackson's new training officer is hilarious and I love it so much. Smitty is my favourite side character for sure. He wasn't in this episode much, but he's great.

Worst part of the episode?

  • Nolan's ethics class storyline wasn't bad at all, but it wasn't the most interesting.

Women are better
jessedekoster22 February 2021
It is a probem when men look down on women. A truth as solid as "racism is bad". But now, the solution is to do the same to men? Why do we need this mindset to be taught through entertainment? Boosting womens ego's and belittling men? Tell me again, how is this gonna be good for anyone involved?

The Convention and Dilemmas
claudio_carvalho27 October 2021
Bradford and Chen are assigned to work in the security of a convention of covert operations and he meets his old friend Mack Daniels with a hooker and notes that he is addicted in Oxycodone. West is working at community policing. When a criminal breaks in the convention, Nolan and Harper come to give support to Bradford and Chen and one classmate identifies Nolan and exposes him to the class. Later, Harper and Chen help Harper's former colleague June in an undercover work, and Chen's work is praised by her colleagues.

"Revelations" is a good episode of "The Rookie". Chen is the star of this show while Nolan and Bradford live dilemmas. Nothing special, but better and better than the previous episodes. My vote is seven.

Whiners on display

I've been watching The Rookie since season 1 and I love the show. It has changed this season and that's great because the world has changed! I continue to love this show. It has evolved as does all human beings. People aren't complaining about the acting but the stories. I'm sure I'm going to get all kinds of down votes for this but you all with the 1 votes are whiny racists and sexists who can't stand that you aren't supreme and your egos aren't being stroked. What this has shown is how many of you slime balls have crawled out from under your rocks.

I like that they're trying to explore contemporary issues
djtansey-11 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I know a lot of people complain of this season's "wokeness." But I'm glad they're trying to find a balance between pure entertainment and accepting that having a realistic police show has to deal with contemporary issues. The ethics of whether to reveal if one is a cop is a good subplot - it didn't totally dominate the episode but explored our current societal issues.

And I don't think this episode was man-hating. It was a nice example of how female police officers can be a role model for a young woman. They gave some insight into their experience of moving up in a male-dominated field without bashing their counterparts.

Overall, great acting (as usual) and a balanced approach to addressing contemporary issues.

Still longing for the spirit of season 1 and 2!
jeersNcheers22 February 2021
As a female, I found all the feminist rah-rah of this episode insultingly simplistic and unreal. The fact that season 3 in nothing like seasons 1 and 2 has nothing to do with being woke or un-woke; if they wanted to completely change the show's feel and the personalities of ALL the actors, they should have just done a new show for people who don't get enough anger, hate and fear on CNN.

Another great episode with a punch
brat430022 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I have loved this series since it started and I have watched the first two seasons multiple times. The writing seems to always have you working to figure out how things are all going to end up and teaches good lessons concerning law enforcement.

In this episode there are a few themes within the story line. The meet-cute with Jackson and his new love interest was great and I look forward to seeing where that goes.

Nolan's issues in the classroom does make the viewer think on witch way they would have leaned on the issue. I don't think it was out of line to not tell the class and I do think that the class was overly offended. In that case I don't think that is how that would have gone down in a normal situation. I know tensions are high surrounding law enforcement but I do believe the show did over exaggerate in this case.

The portion of the show propping up women in law enforcement was great and I am very glad they took the time to highlight it. I don't think it is wrong that women are more empathetic or compassionate, nor do I think this is a detriment to their work as officers, it is a plus. Harper, June and Lucy were all exceptional in their roles during the undercover operation and showed just how well women can do in fast moving situations. The ending with Tamara and Lucy answer to her question couldn't have been worded any better.

Love the Rookie, Hate this Woke Garbage
phil-837377 June 2021
The Rookie is a great series, I've watched it from day 1 and enjoyed it. But it seems that like most TV shows these days that the producers feel the need to shoe horn in woke issues like BLM and women's issues. We all know what they are, when I watch a series I don't want to be lectured or educated I want to watch a show with a good story and episodes that I can enjoy.

The Rookie used to be exactly that but just like the first episode of SWAT season 4 it seems that lecturing is what the producers think we want and need.

Trust me it's not, I'll give this a few more episodes but if the wokeness continues it will be a show that I used to enjoy.

Well damn
ZEROspawn23 February 2021
This season really has been a let down, I guess it's not for international viewers anymore, as it all concentrate about American politics and how it's bad to be male and white now. Well sorry to say I can't change my color, time travel or be responsable for politics in another country.

Getting silly now
mrswizz22 February 2021
What we learnt this week. Male cops are rubbish. Men are rubbish. White guys are rubbish. The one criminal in an all black area is an old white man who is caught by two gay black cops. Undercover bad cop. Yeah he's white. The woman all heroic. This after-school special rubbish is getting boring now. Zero realism. Just preaching how white guys sick each week.

Show deserves better
neverenoughgold26 February 2021
Nathan Fillion, as a producer, certainly should be pounding his fist demanding better writing. He certainly deserves better. Is Jack Webb available?

Confusing
lancerballa1728 February 2021
It's almost like the show's writers/creators didn't think through when they began to make a show about police anti-police while trying to push their agenda and go along with the current narratives being pushed by MSM. Too bad, this was my favorite show in the first two seasons. I hope they can get back on track to what made the show so great...

Worst episode so far
topdany22 February 2021
I like The Rookie, a lot.

But I have to say that this episode was the worst by far.

An evident intent of brainwashing, very typical of these troubled days.

Hope the next episode will be as good as the others previous to this crap.

Sick of these agendas.

And we've gone back to garbage.
veleskir23 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Last week I rated the previous episode about a 5. It felt a lot more like season 1 and 2. Not perfect mind you, but still better than the episodes before that. This episode feels more like a return to season 3, i.e. it's awful.

Lets just ignore the awful, awful pandering going on. Even if you completely ignore that, you can't ignore the massive drop in writing quality. I'm not sure if these two are related, but it definitely seems to have some form of causality. The more it panders, the higher the drop in quality.

A simple example would be how easily fooled those supposed high level criminals were. They made it that far. They had millions upon millions of dollars. This isn't some low level criminal. They had multiple expensive cars in mint condition. Yet they fall prey to the most obvious bluff in history within on a day or two? If they were that stupid, they wouldn't be as rich and powerful as they were.

This was one of the most sexist and offensive episode on tv this year
mr-ahmedmashhour26 February 2021
This was one of the most sexist and offensive episode on tv this year.

On what planet would a phrase like " are women better cops? Oh, yeah you better believe it" " There isn't a guy on the force that can do what these women can do" would be a woke moment... That's a sexist line clean and clear. If a man on tv said that men are better cops than women and no woman can do what they do all hell would break loose, smh. And people cheer that sexism on like idiots. We are no longer on a path for equality, we are on the same path for inequality just in the opposite direction. We are repeating history but instead of discrimination against women we will just have discrimination against men.

Anyone, men or women, don't see that then they don't want equality they just want control.

The show had so much potential!
jonreni23 February 2021
The show has lost its way. It was fun, edgy, silly at first. Now it is just preachy and hard for an adult with life experience to watch. Maybe great for someone who wants to be told how to think... I just wanted to enjoy some entertainment.

Losing the plot
herbie0519603 March 2021
I find it disturbing that a TV program like this starts to cater for faction group approval. I am looking for some light entertainment that this show normally supplies, leave the political jargon to the politicians, stick to entertaining the real people.
