TV crossovers and interconnected universes are the best things when it comes to fandom. But they can be super tricky, for it involves combining separate ongoing storylines into one project. It’s a daunting task for the creative group, which if not done correctly can end up being like Zooey Deschanel’s New Girl and Brooklyn 99 crossover.
Zooey Deschanel as Jessica Day in New Girl
Although people appreciated watching Zooey Deschanel in Brooklyn 99, it wasn’t a great idea to combine the comedy styles of the two shows. Further, what created the biggest mess out of the crossover was featuring the same actors in different roles in the two shows.

Iran has denied viral reports that soccer icon Cristiano Ronaldo was sentenced to 99 lashes for hugging a married woman while visiting the country.
Renaldo hugged and kissed Fatima Hamimi, an Iranian artist, and thanked her for giving him two paintings on September 18.
The video showing Ronaldo’s moment with the painter was posted on the Instagram page of his Saudi Arabian team, Al-Nassr.
Al-Nassr was in Tehran to play against Persepolis during the AFC Champions League group stage match, which Al-Nassr won 2-1.
Hamimi, who is about 85% paralyzed, paints portraits with her feet. She was one of many fans who showed their love for the soccer phenomenon.
Al-Nassr does not play in Iran for the rest of the tournament’s group stage but might face an Iranian-based team in the knockout stages.
Physical contact with a married woman in Iran is seen as adultery and can lead to severe penalties.

Chvrches singer Lauren Mayberry has shared her second solo single, “Shame.” Listen to the track below.
You never know what you’re going to get when the frontperson of a band branches out into a solo career, but “Shame” immediately feels like a Mayberry song, beginning with disjointed, industrial-sounding synths and the vocalist’s iconic chirp. Those electronic verses slow down in the lullaby chorus, however, as Mayberry sings, “I feel schizophrenic/ How poetic/ Romanticize all the pain/ How pathetic, drinking gasoline and calling me the flame.”
The singer-songwriter explained the meaning of the single in a statement. “I had the idea for a while of a song that had the tagline of ‘what a shame,’ but in a sarcastic way,” Mayberry said. “And the word ‘shame’ having a double meaning — the shame you feel and internalize, but what a shame you feel like that and can’t change it.

Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for series “Guns & Gulaabs,” starring Dulquer Salmaan (“Chup”) and Rajkummar Rao (“Bheed”).
The series is created by India-based filmmaking duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. – popularly known as Raj & Dk – as part of a multi-year creative partnership with Netflix under their D2R Films banner.
Set in the fictitious town of Gulaabganj and designed as an ode to 1990s Bollywood, the series blends genres as it follows a lovestruck mechanic, a reluctant heir to a ruling gang and an honest officer-turned-agent-of-chaos. In addition, a trio of schoolmates experience the innocence that comes with growing up in a small town, complete with heartbreaks and betrayal.
The cast also includes Adarsh Gourav (“The White Tiger”), T.J. Bhanu (“Afwaah”), Gulshaan Devaiah (“Dahaad”) and the late Satish Kaushik (“Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan”) in one of his last screen roles.

Three months before Brexit, hundreds of migrant workers arrive at the UK seaside town of Great Yarmouth looking for work. Many of them end up in local turkey processing plants, with Tânia (Beatriz Batarda) now overseeing many of their daily work routines. Married to callous hotel owner Richard (Kris Hitchen) while having a love affair with fellow migrant Carlos (Nuno Lopes), Tânia dreams of turning her husband’s abandoned hotel lots into a luxury retirement home for the elderly.
When we think of the British seaside, we think of staple motif imagery — slurping a 99 Mr Whippy on a pebble-ridden coast, giving yourself whiplash on the pier’s inevitable wooden rollercoaster, and spending so much time in the amusement arcade that you end up losing your parents. "V/H/S/" has been a formidable mainstay in the horror genre ever since its first entry back in 2012. Since then, three sequels have been released, with last year's "V/H/S/ 94" being exclusive to the genre streaming service Shudder. Despite the longevity of the franchise, it has never strayed away from its core creative manta: hire up-and-coming horror directors to direct a found-footage short film, then present them as long-lost videos that connect to a larger story. This draw helped launch the careers of several now-prominent genre directors, such as Radio Silence ("V/H/S/"), Timo Tjahjanto ("V/H/S/ 2"), Justin Benson ("V/H/S/: Viral"), and Chloe Okuno ("V/H/S/ 94").
Now, the franchise is back, and it wants to party like it's 1999. That's because it technically is; "V/H/S/ 99" will take place at the turn of the new millennium amidst the decline of VHS recording and the omnipresent threat of Y2K. With...

HBO Max has released a new trailer for Woodstock 99: Peace, Love, and Rage, its upcoming documentary about the infamous three-day music festival. The film will arrive on the streaming service July 23rd.
Thrown 30 years after the original Woodstock, Woodstock 99 was completely unlike the counter-cultural celebration of peace, love, and music. The trailer distills the chaos that ensued, from scorching heat and $4 bottles of water, to malfunctioning porta-potties and a whole lot of pent-up white male rage that was unleashed in the form of fights, fires, and multiple reports of sexual assault.

This Star Wars: The Bad Batch article contains spoilers.
Despite being called The Bad Batch, much of the story of the latest Star Wars animated series actually revolves around Omega, a mysterious clone who runs away from Kamino and the Empire with Clone Force 99 at the start of the show. Once just a medical assistant working in the cloning facilities, Omega is now a fugitive on the run from both Imperial forces hunting the Bad Batch and the bounty hunters sent by the Kaminoans to retrieve her. Along the way, Omega learns to defend herself, becomes closer to the rough-around-the-edges clone mutants of Clone Force 99, and begins to discover what makes her so special.
From her very first introduction, it was easy to see there was something different about Omega. Even though Omega’s a clone born on Kamino like the rest of the clone army, it’s explained...

“Stars Wars: The Bad Batch,” the animated “Clone Wars” spin-off series, kicks off the franchise’s May the Fourth celebration Tuesday on Disney+, exploring a rapidly changing galaxy and bridging the original trilogy. Based on George Lucas’ concept of “The Dirty Dozen,” and introduced at the start of the 7th and final season of “The Clone Wars,” the genetically-modified squad of elite clones takes center stage as the series segues into the post-war Imperial era ruled by Sith lord Sheev Palpatine. Chaos reigns, with the Republic crushed and the Jedi slaughtered, and the emergence of freedom fighters and mercenaries. But where does the Bad Batch fit in?
“Now we’re dealing with the aftermath of Order 66 [which forced the clones against their will to destroy their friends, the Jedi],” said Jennifer Corbett, the series producer and head writer. “This is underlined throughout the series because it’s what changes everything, and what really sets the Batch off on their journey in figuring out...

With the upcoming 99 Songs on April 16th, two-time Academy Award-winning music composer A.R. Rahman will be donning on a new hat as writer/producer for a film. However, not many know about the inspiration behind the spark that lit the maestro to transition to filmmaker. It was Rahman’s long-time collaborator Mani Ratnam who taught him that filmmaking isn’t really different from composing a melody and this was the lesson, that led him to think on creating in a different art form Anand eventually to develop the script for 99 Songs.
“Mani sir once said to me that making a movie is like composing a song. You have the introduction, the song’s theme, the tune and then you do the background mixing. SandalwoodThe film will make you nostalgic if you haven't watched the original '96'.Aravind ShwethaWith great power comes great responsibility and with shouldering the remake of a superhit film comes the obligation to do it well. Not just that, the makers will have to make peace with comparisons and assessments as most people would have already watched the original on TV or online streaming platforms. Those who have already seen the original will watch the remake with only one intention – to see how similar or different the remake is; and to see if the remake is better that the original. 99, starring Ganesh and Bhavana and directed by Preetham Gubbi, is a remake of the Tamil superhit film 96 starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha. The trailer of the film which was officially released two weeks ago, has received over 2 million hits. The comments section is filled with comparisons, especially about the ‘heart-touching’ scene.
