Pleasantly surprised

I'm so snobby about what I watch, most especially South African shows, as a lot of the time, the production is shoddy. But this is really amazing. I got hooked so quickly. The acting is great, Its made well, the story line us captivating. I'm really proud of this South African show. Shows off our talent in this country when things are done right. Worth a watch!

Lovely show. Cant wait for the last 3 episodes. And I love it that the actors are not chosen for their looks but for their talent

Gut wrenching drama

Warning: Spoilers
I can't remember when I watched a series and couldn't wait for the next episode. The story telling touches one on so many levels. The horror of betrayal, spending time in jail, losing ones kids and having to fight to claw back some sort of semblance of one's former life and relationships. Some great acting, especially Sam. All in all a class act.

Suspense!

The writing is great and performances are amazing - especially Shannon Esra and Natasha Sutherland. The series is a time-hopping whodunnit set in contemporary South Africa. Really proud of this one.

And that's why she is the LIONESS

She took the title of the series to a whole real level.. so proud to know and have a South African actor Casted to show her pure talent in this cut throat industry... I would like to also thank the directors and team for choosing the PERFECT LIONESS.

Disappointing finale
johan-8880018 April 2021
I really enjoyed seeing this series develop into a possible cliffhanger over the weeks. The thing that totally spoiled it for me was the final episode. There were simply too many loose ends that required closure. Very disappointing.

Obligatory angry teenager absolutely pointless and exasperating
claude654326 September 2023
Why, why do they always insist on having one teen character who is continuously angry and acts irrationally? It has *never* done any tv show any good. Zoe Saldana's daughter is full-on stereotype, all the sorry-arse angry teenager tropes bundled in one character. One minute you are watching a show about secret operatives in the Middle East, the next you are subjected to never-ending scenes of family turmoil caused by one selfish teenager that *no one in the world cares about*.

My advice: fast forward all the scenes where she appears. They add absolutely nothing - zip - nada - zilch to the storyline. Skipping them will do wonders for your blood pressure.
