Murdoch, at one point, mentions 'resistor' to his wife.
Resistors were Not Invented until 1950s.
The character, Skate, says a character is named after the god of the Underworld. Murdoch says, "Pluto?" Murdoch says the character they are going to meet "at least has knowledge of Greek mythology". Pluto is actually the Roman god of the Underworld. Hades is the Greek god of the Underworld.
Later on, the character with the name says it's actually "Plato" (which is actually a Greek philosopher).
Correction: Pluto - the Roman counterpart of Hades - is derived from 'Pluton', which is another Greek name for the God of the Underworld. This is derived from the Greek word for wealth 'plutos', probably due to the concept that the underworld was rich in minerals and precious stones.
