Finale redeems season
derekjohnson-5898117 September 2021
This season hasn't been my favorite, but the finale was fantastic. A fantastic sendoff for a really awesome show. I don't think the last season will have a lot of re-watchability but the finale ties it all together well and will have re-watchability for sure.

All we wanted was just one final HEIST but they gave us so much more...
Laqshayaroraofficial17 September 2021
It was definitely a very clever finale. 40minute+ heist episode with a good bye feel in every minute. It was funny, emotional and one of the best series finale of any sitcom. They will be missed. Nine Nine!

NINE NINE!

Warning: Spoilers
A finale is always hard, just to find and hit that right note to end something that goes on for years. B99 hit the sweet spot of that very note IMO. Funny, confusing, misleading and somewhat sad but in a good way. 10/10

This is my favorite Series finale hands down.

A last heist. Always the highlight of the season. All the double and triple crossing makes it hard to stay on track what's going on exactly but as always it sums it up pretty good in the end.

A fitting send-off to one of the best sitcoms of the last decade
RahulM00717 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Brooklyn Nine-Nine aired its final ever episode on Thursday 16th September 2021 at 8 pm Eastern Time on NBC. To say that this show meant a lot to me is an understatement. It brought me joy in the most difficult moments of life. The series finale is absolute perfection with an insurmountable number of call-backs, surprise guest star appearances, loads of jokes, emotional moments and a poignant scene between Jake and Captain Holt. Bruce Willis sadly did not make a short cameo appearance. Jake even jokingly made a reference to Bruce Willis which was in my opinion more than enough. The producer Dan Goor made a cameo appearance in the penultimate episode and series finale as janitor Dan.

It is only fitting that the last episode revolves around a final heist. This was no ordinary heist. It was even more elaborate, confusing, far-fetched, and over-the-top than previous heists. The last ever scene showcases all of them getting ready for the annual Halloween heist. All of them chanting "Nine-Nine" in unison for the last time is not just satisfying, but emotional. I cannot think of a better ending to the show. It is pure perfection.

Thank you to cast, crew and the fans who saved Brooklyn Nine-Nine from cancellation. I am grateful that we got three more seasons with one of the best sitcom ensemble casts. I started Brooklyn Nine-Nine in March 2020 and got hooked from the start. Andy Samberg, Melissa Fumero, Terry Crews, Andre Braugher, Stephanie Beatriz, Jo Lo Truglio, Chelsea Peretti, Dirk Blocker and Joel McKinnon Miller deserve all the praise for portraying these unique characters for eight seasons. Brooklyn Nine-Nine will always stay in my heart. I miss it already. :(

Final verdict: 10/10.

The Last Day Pt 2
kaden_lewis20 September 2021
This was a perfect finale to a perfect show. I don't feel like it was two parts, that is why I am rating both episodes the same. This was a perfect send off to the snow, it had everything. It had cameos from popular past characters, tons of throwbacks to previous episodes of the show, the classic Nine-Nine one-liners, and most of all, it was emotional. The final episode being a Heist day was the perfect way to end the show. Ever since the Halloween Heist premiered in season 1, it has been one of my favorite episodes each season, and I was so happy to see that it would be the final episode. The way they ended the show was emotional, yet still funny, the perfect way for Brooklyn Nine-Nine to end.

I'm going to miss watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine, but I feel they went out the best way possible. Thanks for so many laughs, and so many great episodes that provided me happiness throughout the pandemic. This is one of my favorite shows of all time, and I felt it ended perfectly.

NINE-NINE.

Cried a tear or two

Can't believe this show is actually ending, been watching since 2017 and it is one of my favorite shows but what can we say? Everything have an ending.

This episode made me both happy and sad, a lot of mixed emotions for 25 minutes. I was laughing with tears falling from my eyes, but in the end i was happy.

Thank you Brooklyn99.

Perfect ending to an incredible show!
friskeaiden17 September 2021
Emotional, funny, self aware and near flawless. So happy I can say this police sitcom I've fallen in love with has gone out with an extremely well done ending! So many amazing moments I can't begin to go into without diving into spoilers! If you're a fan of the show you will laugh, cry and rejoice over this episode regardless of what you thought of the season as a whole. NINE NINE!!!

The best we could ask for
llavictoi17 September 2021
This was honestly one of the best, if not the best episode of the show. It felt like the show unlike most of the season and definitely redemed it. I loved how they used the heist, how the made reference to so many of the shows best moments and them bringing back beloved characters like Gina, Adrian and Teddy. It made me so happy yet so sad, I will miss the show.

What a end!
ethanjjacobs18 September 2021
Such a great end! Season 8 may not have been that good, probably the worst season of this show but the pt1 and pt2 finale makes up for it all, was really funny and emotional and I enjoyed every minute of it. One of the best endings of a sitcom.

9.8/10.

It was the perfect ending.

Warning: Spoilers
You can tell by just watching this episode Dan Goor is the ultimate Brooklyn Nine-Nine fan. So many cameos, callbacks, and litlle puns that you have to watch the episode again to point them all. Every character got their best endings- Jake finally solved the puzzle and became an adult, Terry got his well deserved promotion, Amy and Captain Holt finally got the chance to make real changes in the NYPD, Rosa got her "happy ending", Scully and Hitchcock proved again that they are inseparable and belong to 99th precinct, and well, Charles got his own Boyle.

As a long-time fan I couldn't imagine a better season and a better finale in these challenging times to say goodbye to the squad. I will miss seeing these characters on my screen. Thank you to every single person who helped making of this show. We're going out in a blaze of glory! NINE-NINE!

A sad send-off
giovannipic15 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
A fun episode overall but ending in a rather depressing tone: Jake quitting the force. I always find it sad when characters (male or female) give up on their dream job to be stay-at-home parents. Surely Jake and Amy could afford a baby sitter or get their parents involved? But also I'm not a parent myself, so I guess I really can't understand what it's like...

Wish it was a happy goodbye

When a comedy forgets its original purpose it never ends well. Forced into an unnecessary lesson in wokeness and trying desperately to introduce a meaningful storyline into a rediculous comedy, missing the point of why the show has fans in the first place.

Finale is Great!
gamerpsth17 September 2021
This Episode is An emotional Rollercoaster and one of the best episode of the show the only thing thats keeping it from being perfect is the Ending. I didn't really love the ending i feel like they could've ended after the Elevator scene and that would've been perfectly fine but the way they ended just makes me more upset that this show is ending, but other than that everything else is fantastic. 9/10.

Could've been better
hestiax3 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Although it is suitable that everyone got what they wanted in the end (the promotions), i believe it was unfair to Jake to just leave 99 to look after the baby. A lot of people has kids and balances the work with their personal life. Jake should've gotten into FBI like he wanted seasons ago in which he turned down again because he didnt want to leave Amy or something i cant really remember now (which would be more fitting for his character since everyone else got what they wanted). But not being a detective anymore was not it. Right till the end, i thought he might at least start working with Rosa as private investigators because they are best friends and he loves solving crimes with her. I mean until when he will babysit baby? He has to return to force sometime in the future Overall, a good finale for a bad season. I am not even gonna start on this season or this review will never end. Also, I was lowkey sad that they didnt go to the Brooklyn Bridge it would have been a nice homage.. Justice for Jake!

Great finale
agerson2417 September 2021
I had really low expectations for the finale bc overall I haven't liked this season very much but it was an amazing ending. It wrapped everything up perfectly and there were so many references and flashbacks to earlier seasons and storylines without being heavy handed about it and that's hard to do! The heist episodes are always my favorite and I'm so glad they brought Gina back! Overall, a great finale to wrap up a great show.

Endings are so difficult
paulstorer-064568 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
We all have so high expectations for the ending of any treasured series. Over 80% do not meet even mediocre expectations.

How did B99 do?

I did find a few of the situations forced - Jake suddenly deciding he wanted be a full time father. As someone has said he couldn't cope with being on suspension.

The whole heist seemed to come out of nothing and there didn't seem to be a coherent story.

All negative so far so why a 10/10

The relationship between Jake and Holt subtly changed throughout the eight seasons. I rewatch ( and binge ) shows such as this and maybe that way you see the changes more prominently.

The Jake, Charles and Amy dynamic was fabulous and it was written in a way that didn't make Jake manipulate.

The humanisation of Rosa from a sort of two dimensional angry, intensely person to having such a close friendship with Amy also developed over the whole 8 seasons. Although the introduction of Adrian Permento ( I bet he enjoyed that completely OTT role - my hero ) was maybe the switch that "turned on" Rosa.

Sarge was fantastic - Will Terry the Captain refer to himself in the third person?

Gina, Hitchcock and Scully whilst not the "stars" they were just important ( I've just watched the episode where Gina stops Hitchcock and Scully arguing by treating them as dogs )

We had lots of.cameos Melipnos, Bill ( Charles' double ) Amy's Pilsner loving ex boyfriend.......

But where was JUDGE JUDY

I've tried be somewhat objective and if Judge Judy had been there I might has started a petition for an 11/10

Good luck to all the cast and crew you gave us eight seasons of pure entertainment.

Decent finale but some things don't make sense to me
crazelord9 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It was a great callback to past parts of the show and the heist was great. And the ending emotional. But I legitimately do not get Jake retiring. I understand that's basically the character arc for him that he finally grew up and found other things important outside of being a detective.

Episodes earlier he was going stir crazy being suspended for months, he had Mac then why wasn't it fulfilling enough to be home for him but a few months later it is?

Like Rosa kept telling Amy in the episode family isn't the only thing you can have to be fulfilled in life. But the show presents Jake's decision as the clear "mature" one. You can have working parents and hire help and still be good parents.

I know Jake wants to be a better dad than his dad but it doesn't have to be all or nothing. He could balance work and family and still reach his full maturity not always putting work first.

I don't know it felt like a bit of a forced sentimentality for the finale that didn't really make sense to me regarding his character.

Trash Episode
Redneck_McPoopy3 November 2021
I knew this episode would get a good rating, because it is the finale, but it was such a bad ending, to a bad season. It was terribly unfunny, like when Gina kept doing the "another surprise reveal"thing, and relied purely on the nostalgia of the last episodes. The heist episode plot was getting repetitive 2 times ago, but they did it again. Long and super boring, don't watch it.
