Great storyline and something good to watch in this world of masala movies.
akamtadar21 January 2024
Well as always a movie with Sanjay Mishra hits different. Very touching movie I would say some might even cry so well done on that directors. But the obvious aproach was what I deducted one star for. Movie is based on 2023 and head master even has a smartphone but the storyline goes like it's in early 2000 of India. A mature approach would have better as of 2023 scenario lower caste has their own candidates and govt workers. Either you should have made it as early 2000 India movie or make a modernised version and show what is the current scenario where even having own candidates and govt workers upper caste are interfering etc. Over all a very gud movie felt really fresh and could see the creativity and hardwork that has been put into it. Just that time jumble was but off otherwise it's 10 out of 10. Hope to see more such movies in future rather than those spy universe etc. Indian cinema should make more such movies. Great acting by all the cast. And casting was also perfect. No more words to say if your reading this and please watch it once it won't disappoint you.

The reality of India & yet a topic we don't care about
shilpa_suchak21 March 2024
Well made film showing the realities of basic human rights. The kid has out performed everyone and all actors doen a great job. The topic which needs a lot more attention and is very real, films like these should be tax free verses an article 370. While Hindus shout so much about others it's about time to look into their own deeply rooted caste system. It's a must watch, don't want to be a spoiler alert. If you don't just empty entertainment this film is not for you cause it will touch your heart and may make you want to access your humanity. I highly recommend it. Education & its state in india is a serious concern and it captures it well.

Tight screenplay, good acting
anuragd-8943115 February 2024
I don't whether these kind of issues are still prevalent in india or not But the movie was good The screenplay was good I didn't get bored The ending could have been better Sanjay mishra has done a good acting Even his mother was good All characters did justice to their role But the stars are guthlee and ladoo who looked so cute There is a plain story with not much twists And turn But it maintains its pace The budget may be low but quality was not low It is an underated I decided to watch it because i saw some shorts But they showed a kid in a much negative role That could have been avoided. It was a good movie.

First time i cried
shuebkhan-8671520 January 2024
I appreciate this Director who have courage to create this type movie. I think about those people who lived before 20-30 years before even they do not have right to study. These type movies should be appreciate but sadly i have to say this type movies people do not want to watch they only to watch only ' Animal ' 'Kabir Singh' . This is the reason why we didn't achieve oscar award for Indian movie. Please don't comment on my POV but search on google we won award for music etc but not for a movie yet . Even Korean movie Parasite got the Oscar. Filmaker should have right to show _____ 😞😞😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕

Oscar winning Movie
rammahato-2632012 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is a lesson for those who create ruckus in the name of weakness and encroachment, to cry about compulsion, cry later, struggle yourself. True struggle and not just show off. Everyone is just showing up for show, in reality if people were so desperate to bring about change then all these problems would have ended. Everyone is selfish. They create ruckus for their own selfish interest. When one's selfishness ends, the thought of goodness also ends. If we were so passionate about the truth, then why did this type of movie not get the same place as others. Why ? Then why is the number of people less for this?

Half researched and half hearted attempt
anjan-jagirdar18 October 2023
You make a movie on caste and don't even mention Dr. Ambedkar once. Something seriously is wrong with you.

Seems like the makes have not researched the subject of caste. The treatment to entire movie seems immature and kidhish. Good acting by all actors but the director has no idea what he is making and just trying to showcase a sob story and garner sympathy views.

Once again, film makers have failed to understand caste and its fabric in India. There are just unabated dialogue's and same old characterisation of lower caste. Makeup or purposeful blackening of faces from lower caste actors seems like a pathetic idea who ever had that and shows across the screen as well.

Could have been a much better movie had it had got a better , more mature and director. One who has done his research well rather than just trying to garner sympathy from its viewers.

Must watch Hats off for the Actors performance
vforcedbz27 October 2023
In a thought-provoking movie set in rural India, the harsh reality of caste discrimination comes to light. It revolves around a young, determined boy yearning for knowledge, yet he finds himself in an area where the only school is controlled by an educated upper-caste individual. The upper-caste school owner initially hesitates to educate the young boy but eventually takes him under his wing, sensing his potential. This gesture highlights the underlying tensions within the society as many resist the idea of a lower-caste boy receiving an education.

The film doesn't merely focus on the personal journey but delves into the political landscape, showcasing how politicians manipulate caste dynamics for their own gains. They promise better facilities and opportunities but often make them unattainable, much like a distant fruit that's tantalizingly out of reach. The narrative weaves a tale of resilience, hope, and the fight against deeply rooted prejudice, ultimately aiming to shed light on the complexities of rural life, caste discrimination, and the intricate web of politics that affect the lives of those striving for a brighter future.

Bitter, Harsh, sweet and worth it's weight in gold!
uxbyshaurya9 February 2024
Every scene in this movie is nothing but pure unadulterated scene of how society works in India and how we export the same issues with the upper caste around the world when they leave to work anywhere outside India, hence current Google and Microsoft cases making round!

Coming back Again Sanjay Mishra and his movie picking leaving no doubt that eventually you get to see a gem and it will go ignored as collectively we watch glossy manicured movies pastered with Starkids, It's the form of cinema which shows us reality of life beyond A-cities and which is highly ignored and the value of life goes down the more you get away from city!

This movie is not there to make you feel better but it must make you question if you will watch it, ignore it and go back to something else as usual or will do something which will make at bit of contribution(as every contribution counts) ~ Fin.

Not representative of reality
apaguptarna2 February 2024
This is an artificial made up attempt to stereotype some arbitrary caste story forcefully embedded in current and present day India. Right to education is a right and no one needs to fight for it like the imaginary drama shown in this movie.

Showing this black and white distinction on so called caste line is a fake and poor attempt to creating a social message that is useful for no one.

The director is inexperienced and made no effort to create the subtle social issues that hide behind economic lines and right to education. Such cheap social thrill should be avoided and an attempt to movie with social message should have sincerity to the hues of grey that exist in the society.

Can really saving one person as the movie champions by a sporting event race solve the economic challenges problem anywhere? No.

You must watch it.
inayatk-2940020 January 2024
Guthlee Ladoo is a heartwarming and inspiring film that showcases the power of education and the bond between a teacher and a student. The film tells the story of Guthlee, a young boy from a poor and oppressed caste, who dreams of going to school and learning new things. His father, Mangru, supports his aspirations and tries to enroll him in a nearby school, where he meets Harishankar, the principal. Harishankar recognizes Guthlee's potential and curiosity and decides to help him overcome the barriers of caste discrimination and social stigma. The film explores the challenges and struggles that Guthlee and Harishankar face in their quest for knowledge and dignity.

The film boasts of a stellar cast, led by the veteran actor Sanjay Mishra, who delivers a nuanced and empathetic performance as Harishankar. He portrays the role of a compassionate and courageous educator, who is willing to risk his reputation and career for the sake of his student. Subrat Dutta, who plays Mangru, is equally impressive as the loving and supportive father, who wants the best for his son. Kalyanee Mulay, who plays Rania, Harishankar's wife, adds a touch of grace and humor to the film. Dhanay Seth, who plays Guthlee, is the star of the show, as he captures the innocence and enthusiasm of a child who wants to learn and grow. He shares a remarkable chemistry with Sanjay Mishra, and their scenes together are the highlight of the film.

The film is directed by Ishrat R Khan, who makes his debut with this film. He handles the sensitive and relevant subject of caste discrimination and education rights with maturity and sensitivity. He does not shy away from showing the harsh realities of the society, but also infuses the film with hope and optimism. The film is well-written, with a tight screenplay and dialogues by Ganesh Pandit, Srinivas Abrol, and Ishrat R Khan. The film has a realistic and authentic feel, thanks to the cinematography by Anil Akki and the editing by Steven H. Bernard. The music by Rohan Rohan and the lyrics by Rohan Gokhale complement the mood and theme of the film.

Guthlee Ladoo is a film that will make you laugh, cry, and think. It is a film that celebrates the spirit of education and the joy of learning. It is a film that reminds us of the importance of human values and the need for social change. It is a film that deserves to be watched and appreciated by everyone.

Excellent Movie!
amanmalhotra-0098312 May 2024
Loved this beautiful movie. Excellent story and acting of all the caste especially Sanjay Mishra and Master Dhanay Seth (Guthlee). Makes you emotional and makes you think why such movies are not applauded as much as they deserve. No irrelevant songs or unnecessary drama from commercial cinema that seems superficial and far away from reality. For me, it was national award level performance by the caste and the director. The last scene where Guthlee had to fight all odds to keep his existence and dream alive was too special. I hope such movies with a strong societal message get more love from the audience.

Big thumbs up!!

The ending was so stupid, I thought there would be a revolutionary ending, where principal would be mending the abondoned school and start teaching outcast kids, but alas, it was too unrealisting and pathetic.
