So here we have the very first-ever live stand-up DVD offering from "TV's Craig Ferguson", and what a great offering it is. For over an hour, the man whose name is an anagram for 'a surging force' holds court at the Wilbur Theatre in Boston, hilariously riffing on a myriad of topics including (but not limited to) his days as an alcoholic, his fondness for junkies, the sex/drugs/r&r lifestyle, James Bond, Scotland, his mother, being a new American citizen and the gargantuan reptile that lives in his pants (apparently there's nothing 'wee' about the man).
This is a must for fans of the TV show, needless to say, but if you're not familiar with The Late Late Show and you're in the market for some savvy, irreverently outrageous - but never mean-spirited - humor, this is for you as well.
There's also a really cool interview with Ferguson, where he shares at length what it means to him to have become an American citizen. Also included: a speech he gave on July 4th in Boston, where he expounds further on being a citizen and what America and freedom mean to him. Very inspiring stuff.
