Part of the charm of "Party Down" is its cast; a collection of familiar faces that work very well together. These are people you'd totally expect to see in a mundane catering business while hoping for that fateful call-back. But these are also reliable archetypes; the ironic snark (Martin Starr), the clueless (Ryan Hansen, Jane Lynch), the normals (Adam Scott, Lizzy Caplan) and that poor schlub forced into being the middle management (Ken Marino).
This is a different sort of workplace comedy, but I like these people. Maybe it's because I'm a fan of the shows these actors hail from (Freaks and Geeks, Veronica Mars), but the humor's just right.
7/10
