Adult who enjoyed it
rfadam25 March 2021
I am 39 years old no kids, I was excited to watch Waffles and Mochi because of all the famous chefs: Samin Nosrat, Bricia Lopez, Michael Tutty. Yeah it's a kids show, but it's entertaining and I learned something from each episode. Maybe not everyone likes the Obamas but they made a great program with Waffles and Mochi and I definitely recommend it for adults to watch too.

Mr Rogers vibe

Really cute show. The kids I nanny love it (4 and 5) I enjoy it too. It's like mr Rogers and Sesame Street made a travel show. Great way to introduce kids to new cultures and ideas centered around food! I hope they share some of the recipes from the show. I really want that cheesy potato dish they made in Peru 😂

Warning: Spoilers
This new series is just spectacular for the young and the young at heart. From their unique origin story to their many escapades learning about ingredients and recipes, Waffles and Mochi are adorable tributes to the fine art of puppetry and storytelling for children. Michelle Obama's rooftop hangout over her grocery store where Waffles and Mochi begin and end each adventure feels a lot like Hooper's store in the original Sesame Street series or a scene from Mister Rogers Neighborhood, and Michelle has clearly found a new calling here as actress in a children's show. She is lovely. The writing is so creative, and the many growers, chefs, and other professionals featured in each episode explain about the featured ingredient and how they grow, produce, and use it. There is so much wholesome learning here, such as an adorable workshop on making pickles, or even just complete silliness, such as a Queer Eye makeover for a potato. Kudos to all involved in making this series, and I hope it will be renewed for many seasons to come. Don't miss this!!!

An absolute delight!

We love everything about this show. It's very educational, fun and diverse. It drew in the attention of my very picky 5 year old and immediately got him wanting to try new food!

Listen to your vegetables and eat your parents!

I love watching this cute show with my five-year-old! It's the perfect combination of travel, education, culture, music, puppets, animation, and-most of all-food! Think Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations meets Sesame Street. It's one of those kids shows I don't yearn to scroll on my phone while it's on. Kiddo and I both learn a lot!

Also, my daughter has been a much more adventurous eater since we started watching Waffles + Mochi. We talk about and approach food differently.

This is a rare gem when it comes to kids shows.

Meh

This show seems to appeal to a more cultured and global audience. Kind of like Anthony Bourdains' no reservation but with puppets Nothing wrong with that, but there's a lot of voice over translations which I feel a kid could get distracted. As of now it barely holds my kids attention because of some lulls. But I have to say story bots on netflix is way more entertaining and educational and my kids retain the information. The characters are funny and the songs are good.

Loved the show. What a fantastic idea. Inner city kids will love it, and learn clean eating. It's such a cute show too.

Started out Great!

The first 2-3 episodes were great! They dealt with science, nature, facts, and chefs. Every time the cart stopped there was an explanation/ learning moment. The next few episodes were sloppy and careless.

Casting Sia highlights ignores issues

I think the overall goal of the show is getting there which is to educate kids about healthy eating and I love seeing real chefs and talking about those with disabilities, I am not a fan of sia after her ableism which is why I docked it one star
