Usually independent projects have some kind of vision, or idea behind them. Christmas in Florida is such a strange project, as it relies entirely on someone's low-res iPhone videos being blown up to higher quality, with audio mixing completely nonexistent. Songs are laid over and very rarely fit within the context of the film. Parts of it feel like poorly acted-out scripts, creating a hard to distinguish line of what is real and scripted. Random families show up with no explanation, and then disappear, entire news broadcasts are just used and brings down the entire experience by adding nothing but filler. At least 1/4 of the movie should be skipped due to how many news segments there are spliced in. It really makes you feel like a New York couple in their 40's going to Florida with their dog during Winter 2020. There are so many weird, repeated scenes, mainly to do with having to pee. Plot events happen, but in the sense that they move to Florida, though not obvious in any way shape or form. This entire movie is such an anomaly, and truly is what happens when anyone can upload their movie to something like Prime Video or Tubi. It is definitely worth watching, but with a group of friends to enjoy it with. If it wasn't for how much of a anomaly this movie is, it would not be worth watching.
