Exclusive: Ed Harris (Westworld), Sonequa Martin-Green (Star Trek: Discovery) and Natalie Morales (No Hard Feelings) have closed deals to lead My Dead Friend Zoe, a dark dramedy about two generations of veterans, family and friendship, which Kyle Hausmann-Stokes will direct in his feature debut.
The film written by Hausmann-Stokes and A.J. Bermudez tells the story of a female veteran (Martin-Green) engaged in a mysterious but comfortable friendship with her wise-cracking (and dead) best friend from the Army (Morales). When the vet is summoned to the remote lake house of her estranged Vietnam vet grandfather (Harris), she is tasked with providing the one thing he refuses…help.
Pic is based on Merit x Zoe, a short that Hausmann-Stokes co-wrote and directed last year, and both films draw inspiration from his real-life experiences during and after the military. A graduate of USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, Hausmann-Stokes served five years in...

Blake Anderson, Adam DeVine, and Anders Holm were the creators and stars behind Workaholics. The notoriously hysterical Comedy Central TV series premiered back in 2011 and ran for seven seasons.
When word broke that there would be an upcoming Workaholics movie, fans and followers were ecstatic. However, sadly, that no longer seems to be the case, and many are wondering what exactly happened to the Workaholics film.

Workaholics was a TV series about three friends who all worked and lived together. Blake, Adam, and Anders weren’t necessarily known to be star employees at TelAmeriCorp, but they most certainly were known to have a good time and, of course, smoke a lot of weed.
From office pranks to the most questionable wing-man schemes, for six seasons viewers...

It feels just like last month we were complimenting Hulu on its true crime offerings. Well, with its list of new releases for February 2023, Hulu is staying in the true crime lane. Suppose that’ll happen when you push back the release date of a series or two.
February sees the arrival of three notable true crime series on Hulu. Taiwan Crime Stories premieres on Feb. 1 and presents four true tales from Taiwan’s criminal “dark underbelly.” That will be followed by ABC News Studios’ Killing County on Feb. 3. That three-episode series ponders the question “what happens when police kill?” The most interesting true crime offering premieres on Feb. 9. That’s when Stolen Youth: Inside the Cult at Sarah Lawrence College shares its four-episode saga of Larry Ray and the young college students he victimized.
As far as non true crime offerings go, the third and final season of Hulu...

Harvey Guillén is like a great cleanup hitter. The bases are set, and then Guillén steps up to the plate and just makes the game better. In the case of "I'm Totally Fine," the "What We Do in the Shadows" star makes every second count in a role that amounts to maybe five minute of screen-time. Guillén plays a passionate DJ who has good tunes and molly and really wants to throw a set for two (Jillian Bell and Natalie Morales).
Guillén brings a lot of levity to the film, which deals with the loss of a friend. Over the years, the actor has by all accounts been killing it on FX's "What We Do in the Shadows." He also starred in the best movie adaptation of a video game there is, "Werewolves Within." Guillén is now a reliably joyful presence in comedy, and as he told us in a recent interview,...
