Pure Weirdness

A soundless film starts in a studio: an artist sits, a nude stands; a page burns, paper cutouts appear...

I do not think I can describe this one without throwing in the word "surreal"... this is "Un Chien Andalou" for the next generation. A man removing his own eyeball, a repeated showing of a (fully) nude woman... somehow a painter fits in here.

The collages of people and things might have some meaning behind it ,but I certainly do not have a clue what it might be. And the cage... what does the cage represent? They named the film after it, for goodness sakes.

The running backwards scene is really, really awesome. Not sure how hard it was to film. You might not think it was very hard, but it just looks so flawless...
