Shaw's answer to TAXI DRIVER is a follow-up of sorts to their 'angry young man' cycle, with David Chiang once more cast as lead. This time around he's a good-natured taxi driver who gets involved in various violent schemes in Hong Kong and has to use his kung fu skills to his advantage. Part of this is a slice-of-life social drama with various vignettes, but there's a robbery plot that builds throughout to an exciting climax. Wong Chung is a reliable second lead. It's not one of Shaw's best movies, but I was kept interested throughout.
