After years of stunning fans on Netflix, Sonic Prime provided a shocking ending in Season 3 of the hit animated series.
Prime offered fans a new take on the world of Sega's Blue Blur, telling a wholly original (and shocking mature) story about Sonic The Hedgehog and his friends.

Following on their collaboration on Charlotte Wells’ “Aftersun,” Charades has boarded international sales on upcoming Mubi-backed production “Bring Them Down.”
Starring Barry Keoghan, Academy Award nominated for “The Banshees of Inisherin,” and Christopher Abbott (“Sanctuary”), a Golden Globe nominee for “Catch 22,” “Bring Them Down” marks the first feature from writer-director Chris Andrews, behind award-winning short films “Fire” (2015) and “Stalker” (2019).
On “Aftersun,” Charades took on international sales duties, with Mubi boarding to take distribution rights to multiple territories – such as U.K.-Ireland, France, Germany, Italy and Spain – just as the films bowed in 2022 Cannes Critics’ Week.
For “Bring Them Down,” Charades will sell international rights outside North America, U.K., Ireland, Latin America and Italy where Mubi retains all rights.

It is time to discuss something important. Something that, thanks to the many distractions and responsibilities this world concocts, becomes even more important with age. In the wise words of the once-great Canadian Philosopher, Drake, I got a lot of people trying to drain me of this energy…to play video games.
That last part may or may not have been added on, but the overall sentiment remains true: it can be difficult to muster up the energy for gaming as life tends to hit you with a Blue Shell at every corner. But fear not! Sneak Energy Drinks are the perfect boost for not just gaming, but also for all your general good life vibes as well.
Sneak was founded in 2018 by experienced consumer entrepreneurs Will Peirce and Jonny Teeling and since their launch, the brand has sold over 20 million energy drinks worldwide.

Sega has officially revealed the full game lineup for the Sega Genesis Mini 2 (or Mega Drive Mini 2) retro console. While most of the pre-installed games that will be included with the retro console when it launches on October 27 shouldn’t come as a surprise, it is a bit surprising to see that the console will include Sega’s most notorious and controversial game ever.
I’ll include the full list of games featured in the Mini 2 at the bottom of this article for your perusing pleasure. For now, though, it’s enough to know that the retro hardware’s pre-installed lineup is…eclectic. While the console will include the usual number of all-time classics, it also includes quite a few games you’ve probably never heard of. Actually, two of the games in the console’s lineup (Devi & Pii and Star Mobile) were never actually released before now.

“Sonic the Hedgehog 2” is the perfect expansion/continuation of the first “Sonic the Hedgehog” film, which became a surprise hit in 2020 just as the pandemic was beginning.
This new film follows a similar formula to the original – silly all-ages humor that includes a dog wearing sunglasses and a joke about a bikini wax, some extreme Jim Carrey mugging, plentiful computer-generated imagery and a modest addition of new elements from the “Sonic the Hedgehog” mythology.
That’s right, this time adorable fox Tails (voiced by video game mainstay Colleen O’Shaughnessey) and the sinister Knuckles (voiced by Idris Elba) are joining Sonic (once again voiced by Ben Schwartz) for more over-the-top mayhem. If you’ve ever plopped yourself down in front of a Sega Genesis, the memories will come flooding back.
But what will the next installment bring?

[Warning: The following story contains spoilers about the Season 1 finale of “The Afterparty.” Read at your own risk.]
Ben Schwartz is probably best known for his turns on shows like NBC’s “Parks and Recreation” and Netflix’s “Space Force.” He’s built an impressive career on the back of scene-stealing comedic performances, men who are known for being sidekicks or harmless goofballs, while also voicing characters like Sonic the Hedgehog, Dewey Duck and Rutabaga Rabitowitz, taking the odd film role here and there and continuing to perform as a comedian. How he finds time for it all is a mystery. But now, with his standout performance as Yasper in Apple TV+’s whodunnit “The Afterparty,” which closed out its first season March 4, he’s proven himself worthy of adding yet another accomplishment to his résumé: Emmy nominee.

Elodie Polo-Ackermann, who runs the Mediawan-owned Paris-based banner Imagissime, has become one of Europe’s key documentary producers since delivering “Who Killed Little Gregory?,” a different kind of true crime series which marked Netflix’s first documentary original in France.
“Who Killed Little Gregory?” was directed by Gilles Marchand, a critically acclaimed screenwriter and director whose credits include the Cannes title “Who Killed Bambi?” and “L’autre monde.” With his cinematic approach to the genre, Marchand was able to cast a new light on the infamous cold case revolving around the mysterious murder of 4-year old Grégory Villemin in 1984. The company recently launched its second Netflix docu, “The Women and the Murderer,” a female take on the 1990s serial killer Guy Georges, co-written and co-directed by Mona Achache (“The Hedgehog”) and Patricia Tourancheau.

If Sonic the Hedgehog and Detective Pikachu can get their own movie adaptations, then so should Sly Cooper. I mean, even Warcraft got the live-action, but also animated movie treatment, and that was something I was actually excited for. I’m not even a big World of Warcraft fan, but it looked cool. I know I shouldn’t get excited about video game movies, but a man can hope. For that time, my hopes were once again dashed. I still haven’t watched Detective Pikachu or Sonic the Hedgehog from beginning to end, but I heard they’re good. That makes me hopeful for

British cinemas and theatres have been told they must close on Friday night as the UK takes another step closer to lockdown following the outbreak of coronavirus.
Prime minister Boris Johnson announced the measures at his daily press conference, asking entertainment venues to “close tonight, as soon as they reasonably can, and not open tomorrow.” Cafes, pubs, bars, restaurants and gyms are subject to the same order.

With hundreds of thousands of entertainment industry workers suddenly unemployed by the coronavirus shutdown, unions and guilds affiliated with the Department for Professional Employees, AFL-CIO are calling on President Trump, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, and Congress to quickly pass emergency relief legislation to enhance and expand state unemployment benefits and send direct cash to the impacted workers they represent.
“Arts, entertainment, and media workers have been hit hard by this public health and economic crisis,” said Dpe President Jennifer Dorning. “Overnight, production and performances industry-wide shut down indefinitely, leaving most entertainment and media workers without a source of income to cover essential expenses. Workers who are left without a paycheck and may not qualify for unemployment have no recourse unless Congress acts now. Elected officials have a moral responsibility to ensure emergency relief packages address these workers’ unique circumstances. The International Union of Cinemas (Unic), which represents European cinema owners in 38 countries, today called on the industry to to avoid “short-term financial gains at the expense of the sector as a whole,” as it urged studios to avoid releasing titles online after movie theaters were shut as the coronavirus pandemic intensified.
Many blockbuster titles have had their releases delayed due to the crisis, but still others have turned to VOD models. Universal this week announced that many of its recent theatrical releases, including Invisible Man, The Hunt and Emma, would be available in homes today for 48-hour rental at $19.99 each. Its upcoming release, Trolls World Tour will follow a similar path April 10. Film festivals, too, have been exploring digital platforms as a way of preserving their programming for audiences as physical events have been cancelled.

Project Runway mentor Christian Siriano says he is “really, really sad this week” as he hosts his after show this week. “Two unbelievably talented designers” — Brittany Allen and Marquise Foster — were eliminated just as they were on the brink of making it to the final four. Plus all three had to get up at the crack of dawn to do a fashion show inside of New York’s landmark the Vessel for their avant-garde challenge, so they are all a bit sleepy.
The odd thing is, both of the contestants received second chances. Marquise came back after fellow designer Dayoung Kim dropped out due to illness. He went on to win the tuxedo challenge while Brittany became part of “Runway” history by earning the first-ever Siriano save on the same episode. “She was the first winner and a strong frontrunner throughout the entire season,” the Season 4 winner notes. “Making it...

Eight weeks into the year and we've already seen six films released that fall within the horror and/or thriller genre category and of them only Sony's two entries -- Fantasy Island and The Grudge -- have managed to deliver double digit openings. This weekend, Universal and Blumhouse's The Invisible Man looks to not only top those marks, but deliver the highest opening for a horror title since last year's It Chapter Two.
Following the disappointing debut of The Mummy back in 2017, a film intended to serve as the first film in Universal's proposed Dark Universe, the studio quickly shelved that idea and now, with the release of The Invisible Man this weekend, the studio offers a standalone feature in which writer-director Leigh Whannell brings his own spin to the story. Starring Elisabeth Moss, the film arrives with strong tracking and the studio anticipating a debut in the upper $20 million range,...

After a very strong Presidents Day weekend propelled by the opening of “Sonic the Hedgehog,” things will settle down — way down. It’s likely to fall short of the same weekend last year, with two new openers that will gross substantially less than weekend two of “Sonic.” Disney’s “The Call of the Wild” should take the #2 spot, easily ahead of the “Brahms: The Boy 2” (Stx). But the 20th Century Fox-produced Jack London adventure story starring Harrison Ford, which is expected to gross under $20 million, maybe in the neighborhood of $10 million, and it comes with a cost of as much as $125 million. Unless the film has enormous longer-term appeal plus major foreign interest, that’s disappointing.
Through Tuesday, “Sonic” grossed over $74 million. A fifty percent fall from its first three-day total of $57 million would give it a second weekend around $28 million; a little higher is more likely. The $85 million-budgeted film,...

The “Mean Girls” saga is coming full circle — back to the big screen, that is. Tina Fey has announced that the Broadway musical version of the film, which made its bow in DC back in October 2017 before hitting New York in April 2018, will now be adapted as a new film. Nominated for 12 Tony Awards in 2018, the musical’s book is written by Fey, who starred in the 2004 movie as Ms. Sharon Norbury, everyone’s favorite, self-deprecating high-school calculus teacher.
“I’m very excited to bring ‘Mean Girls’ back to the big screen,” Tina Fey said in a statement shared with Variety. “It’s been incredibly gratifying to see how much the movie and the musical have meant to audiences. I’ve spent sixteen years with these characters now. They are my Marvel Universe and I love them dearly.”
