Wrongly Jumping to the Top of the List
claudio_carvalho18 August 2011
Dexter is resting with his family in his boat not worried with the Trinity Killer that has completed his cycle of murders. Out of the blue, he is summed by Miami Metro to analyze an arm that has been found in the stomach of an alligator. He discovers that it belonged to the illegal waitress and aspirant model Estrella Carazo that has vanished. After the investigation Sergeant Batista finds that the photographer Jonathan Farrow is the prime suspect, but he gets no search warrant to check Farrow's studio. Farrow jumps to the top of Dexter's list and he breaks in the studio during the night seeking evidences to connect Carazo with Farrow.

Meanwhile Debra moves to Dexter's apartment and becomes disappointed with her father after interviewing his former criminal informant Valerie Hodges, and she gives up to investigate the truth about Harry Morgan interviewing other CIs. Dexter destroys the file of his mother since some secrets should not be found out.

"Slack Tide" is a good episode where Dexter commits an error in his assessment and I do not know how it will affect his behavior in the future. The Trinity Killer is spared again and I do not envision other reason but last the fourth season to the maximum. Rita is terribly annoying and I do not understand why Dexter needs such pain in the ass at home. The boring soap opera between Angel and La Guerta continues. Quinn is teasing with the wrong guy. My vote is eight.

I killed an innocent man

Warning: Spoilers
1. Dexter chases down model killer 2. Debra speaks to Harry's CI 3. Dex goes camping

I was going to write that this was a filler episode, but that ending is quite a bit of a plot development. Dexter killing innocent people has never happened and I am curious how this will affect him. He was bound to make a mistake some time and truth be told, this was quite a stretch to put the killing on Farrow. Is this going to stop him from chasing down killers? More self hatred? What's going to happen. Guess we gotta watch more episodes..

S4.E7 - Did Dex Kill The Wrong Guy? [8.8/10]

Warning: Spoilers
My Reaction / Review for Dexter Season 4 Episode 7 ''Slack Tide'' (S4. E7): Episode 6 was good and I gave it a rating of 8.7/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. Rita is less annoying in this episode, which is good, because lately she has been very annoying. They found a hand inside an alligator, that's crazy. So Dexter wants to spend more time with trinity? Interesting. Wait, did Harry have more than one secret girlfriend? Im confused a bit. Is Quinn following Dex? The last person who did that we all know how it ended. It's nice to see Dex spending time with Cody. Wow, did Dexter kill the wrong guy? What's going on? My rating is 8.8/10.

This is exactly what happens when you try to play God
skay_baltimore5 April 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Anyone who thinks that Dexter doesn't deserve to die needs to re-watch this episode. Again. And Again.

It's one thing to watch this series with an appreciation of what Dexter is doing. It's quite another to get so lost in the process that one can't see that what Dexter is doing is wrong.

And from reading a lot of the comments it's clear that too many viewers have lost the big picture here. And this episode really drives that point home loud and clear. No take backs, Dex. You blew it. And you should be held accountable.

Dexter, even though he's the protagonist, should not be given a free pass for all the killing he's done. Unfortunately, this is the ONLY episode in which his outright mistake is revealed. Even so, it should be enough for even a less than discerning viewer to put the rest into the proper perspective (i.e. that Dexter should be caught and punished for what he's done, regardless of his intentions).
