The opening season of G&G was not only laudable, it was also flexible. That is, the writers could have taken S02 it into a number of different directions. The fact that they chose to "go there" --- to go down a highly moralistic road, and deal with, literally, life and death issues -- is interesting. And also entertaining. If you have not noticed, the most outrageous scripts these days usually trumpet politically correct themes which, clearly, their writers were "gently nudged" to explore. Non-binary, non-entertaining, Star Trek Discovery, for example. The extraordinary thing, in the eyes of this reviewer, is that the G&G writers here were clearly not nudged to take this specific turn. They did it voluntarily. And they provided Brianne Howey with solid writing which she, in turn, used to deliver a top-line performance. And it paid off. ((Designated "IMDb Top Reviewer."
