After a scheduled stop off, the Mandalorian goes back to Tatooine.

This is for me the most enjoyable episode of the show so far with some splendid fan service. I know this might seem childish, but I don't care, Star Wars was always about the escapism for me.

There is a strong opening scene with a great presence from Timothy Olyphant before the plot deviates and returns.

It feels like Disney has abandoned the concept of focussing purely on Boba Fett and moved on to other more popular characters. So much so it pulls out some very big guns. I'm not sure if this is a sign of failure from the initial Fett story to hook the audience or if it is a planned expansion of the overarching franchise narrative, but much like the previous episode it has breathed life into a slow moving serialised story that was relatively flat at times.

The bulk of the episode contains epic fan service that I will not spoil. Just go with it and enjoy if you are a fan of the Star Wars franchise and you should not be disappointed. It's hard to tell if this is pure service or laying the foundations for future stories, but I hope it is the latter. Given the way it ends, I have some high hopes.

At last the Tatooine scenes get a decent level of threat and urgency, mainly due to a much needed villain reveal. For the first time I want to see what happens in this conflict between Fett and the Pykes.

As ever the production values are outstanding.

Never had so much goosebumps...

Warning: Spoilers
Another breathtaking episode from the Manda- I mean, the Book of Boba Fett. Right from the start we are treated to an amazing scene, with the return of Cobb Vanth. But the most chilling scenes have to come from seeing Luke and Grogu interact. I could have watched 10 hours of this. It was beautifully filmed and written, and holey Jesus, the visuals on Luke's face were beyond glorious. It was lightyears better than the effects from Mando S2. And not to mention, seeing Luke interact with Ahsoka was so good. I hope we see more of this, we have to. Then there is Yoda's lightsaber. This episode is just filled with amazing stuff. Dave Faloni, you legend. We do get to see Boba, for maybe 1 minute, and I can see how some don't like that he's been sidelined these past few episodes, but these episodes have been so good, that if I'm being honest, I don't care...

But that scene with Cobb and Cad Bane, wow. The make-up on Bane was spectacular. This scene was intense and thrilling. I hope Cobb didn't die in that scene, but it did look like Bane chipped his shoulder, and spoke directly towards him. And those of us who know who Bane is, know he doesn't miss.

Brilliant episode.

WHAT DID I JUST WATCH. STAR WARS CANNOT GET BETTER.
TRIDENT17452 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Wow. I thought the last episode was exceptional. This one blew it out of the park. Dave Filoni is the gem of Star Wars. Without him, there is no Star Wars. This episode shows the potential Star Wars Television can truly have.

LUKE?

AHSOKA?

GROGU?

CAD BANE?

COBB VANTH?

YODAS LIGHTSABER?

This episode is SO interconnected to mainstream Star Wars, and just shows that the production team truly knows, and cares about how WE view it. Yes, the series is so off balance with Boba Fett. He got barely a minute of screen time again. This episode is clearly a draw to Mando S3, Ahsoka and other shows, but man. I don't care. It's done with such care and intricacy and attention to the most minute details. And references.

Star Wars has never been better.

Not Fett, but the return of the Jedi, unequivocally Star Wars.

Warning: Spoilers
While the Pyke Syndicate tighten their grip on Tatooine new friendships are forged.

While like the previous episode it's has like to do with Boba Fett, director Dave Dave Filoni delivers a historic episode. The production values are high, that said it's a bright episode which doesn't hide imperfections.

Written again by Jon Favreau it opens with the return of excellent Timothy Olyphant's Cobb Vanth taking out Pyke Syndicate spice runners. Favreau goes out of his way to impress as the highlight here is the return of the Jedi Luke Skywalker! Yes really, the special effects are outstanding and a vast improvement on the Mandalorian finale (they're almost there, nearly) with some unquestionable mind blowing seamless moments of Mark Hamill's signature character. It's uncanny.

Grogu returns along with Ahsoka Tano (nonchalant Rosario Dawson), lovable R2D2 and Mando. It connects to the sequel trilogy, while also giving (newly filmed) flashbacks of the prequels and order 66. The second acts main goal is to expand Luke Skywalker's character, use of a training remote, his training techniques, what Yoda taught him and general Star Wars world building, and it does that tenfold. His interaction with Ahsoka offers more Skywalker dynamics with the mention of Akin. In the third act Djarin (memorable Pedro Pascal) is reunited with Vanth. Actors W. Earl Brown and Jennifer Beals also appear under make-up. Favreau and Filoni don't stop there, the icing on the cake for diehard Star Wars fans is the live action debut of Cad Bane.

Overall, while it has little to do with the Boba Fett character, it's a terrific mind blowing Star Wars episode.

These guys are breathing life into the Star Wars franchise, really good sci fi, so well made, it's seamless.

Disney have cracked open a gift that could go on for years, the combo of The Mandolorian and Boba Fett is coming together here to shoot the franchise into peoples minds again, cannot wait for the next episode.

Again, a great episode, but of which show?
specialbobby2 February 2022
A Din Djarin and friends episode for sure, and a welcome return for many faces. The appearance of a character that's going to send fan sites absolutely wild , a set up for a grand finale that I can't wait for....

But hang on, where was he again? The Star of the Show! Maybe this is all smoke and mirrors and next week he goes completely'Bad Ass' to justify (nod to someone else in the episode there) why we have this show.

Can't wait to find out, it's going to be a long long week waiting,

Star Wars' Magnum Opus
tristan_192 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I am completely starstruck as to what I was just able to witness. Chapter 6 managed to make me cry my eyes out, as well as giving me sweaty palms, accelerated heartbeat, excitement, joy, all of that.

From the first minute, you know you're in for a treat. Cobb Vanth is back, what a legend. Mando is heading to see Grogu and R2 pops up. Luke is teaching the foundling the ways of the force, making him remember. Din encounters Ahsoka, and little Soka has interactions with Luke, Anakin's son. Just take that in for a minute. What is even going on ? You get everything you've always wanted.

Cad Bane's introduction in nothing short as a heart pumping adrenaline experience. Holy Smokes. The fear and terror too. The possibilities of Boba having a showdown with the notorious bounty hunter.

And we also get one of the best cliffhangers in history... What a way to end the episode. What do you choose ?

It really is crazy to think that this episode and the last episode exist in the same season as Boba Fett's moped biker gang. Here's to hoping they don't screw up on the last episode 🤞🏼

Fetts like a glove.
southdavid3 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Extraordinary. I assumed that last week's episode would be the only one to drag us away from Boba himself and his story - instead Dave Filoni writes and directs what quite simply is the most "Star Wars" thing that ever existed.

The Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) heads to a forest planet to try and see Grogu and give him his gift. Instead he's intercepted by Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) who suggests that seeing Grogu will only distract him from his training, she agrees to take the Bescar chainmail though and pass it along. He returns to Tatooine, where Boba (Temuera Morrison) is putting together his war cabinet. Deciding that he needs more soldiers, Mando heads to Mos Pelgo to recruit Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant) to the fight. Vanth is reluctant to lead his town into another battle though, until from the desert comes a stranger to settle it for him.

I mean, how strange that they would again almost completely abandon the storylines of Boba Fett for a lengthy - certainly half an episode - trip to see Grogu. It leaves a lot of work for the finale to get done next week, assuming that it is going to wrap up this battle with the Pyke Syndicate somehow. What fan service is was though, both for fans of "The Mandalorian" and for anyone whose been into this for their whole lives, like me. A return for Luke Skywalker and R2D2, to see the Jedi academy being built (knowing how it's going to end up). A return for Ashoka and Cobb Vanth, and a chance to see the training of Grogu, and the homages to Luke's training in that. And then, to avoid spoilers in my review I'll keep it safe - but the wholly unexpected live action debut of another character from "The Clone Wars".

I'm not sure why they've chosen to make these last two episodes in the way they have and it does feel like we've abandoned the actual point of the show somewhat, but at the same time I'm so busy gasping about what I'm actually seeing I can't say I'm disappointed with them. This will be an incredibly difficult ship to land next week though, I hope they can manage it.

A bit of a feeling of generating revenues
szabokrisz796 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I'm a SW fan since I first time met with SW in my age 4 and since than I fully in love with any SW related topics and any movies/cartoons/animations/books, etc. Which were released in linewith the canon. But this two last episodes are a bit pushing me to an other side...a bit of a feeling of revenue generating episodes. Boba's story is cool, but a little bit flat. His excellent shining teeth are not enough for bringing back the real feeling of SW era, for me at least.

The partly or fully CGI Luke looks awesome, 10/10 points to the makers. But what the hell does it add to the whole story now? Nothing new about the force, meeting with Ashoka is emotion-free...what is the story of Luke and Ashoka, the cyclops-frog scene had no meaning at all... Moreover, not Luke nor Ashoka felt the proximity of the dark saber?? Strange....and why Luke gave Grogu the choice, a very huge choice... Small details missing, pushed me a bit into a forcing feeling. Not like the Mandalorian stories.

Dear Filoni & Favreau, Attachments Is What Led Luke To Saving His Father & Defeat Palpatine. Detachments...Fall Of The Jedi. Attachments...Fall Of The Sith.
tjstarr-991993 February 2022
Tonight on Book of Boba Fett, special guest Boba Fett, without a single line in the last two episodes. Even Favreau gave up writing anything remotely intriguing about this previously established character. Not even a deep dive into the criminal underworld in the writing. Shame too, because this show should've been really good. The creator and writers are not even trying to setup an interesting setting and interesting characters.

As for Luke...Even Luke Skywalker in the EU books understood the importance of making changes to the Jedi Order such as allowing attachments. After learning the devastating tragic history and witnessing the effect a life of detachments had on his father & the Jedi Order, Luke would never enforce detachments. Filoni forgot attachment was what redeemed Vader and destroyed the Sith in the original trilogy. Luke's attachment to his father is what led him on his suicide mission, which resulted in the redemption of Anakin Skywalker, and the fall of Palpatine. Attachments did that, not detachments. Now Filoni & Favreau have Luke completely stepping away from his outlook on attachment. Someone get Dave Filoni the original trilogy to watch, please! He's spent too much time dealing with pre-OT material.

Boba Fett, who is no longer the central character in his own show, is suddenly a good guy and a terrible "crime" lord at the same time. The episode is loaded with cameos, most of which serve no purpose to the plot other than fan service galore. Luke Skywalker, the child, Ahsoka, the Marshall, Mando, Cad Bane, and Boba Fett makes a cameo without a single line of dialogue. Ahsoka and Luke share a mediocre and forgettable conversation, which is devastating afterwards when you remembered Ahsoka's master was Luke's father. Not even an interesting conversation from Ahsoka about her relationship with Anakin to his only son? She's only in this episode because she is Filoni's creation. Yet, he does nothing with her.

A war is coming on the horizon and yet prior to this episode we've seen nothing to suggest a war conflict other than Fett's Cyberpunk gang making plans for a fight. The real war should be against the remaining Hutts for control of Tatooine and the Outer Rim. "Book of Boba Fett" is dumb, and now it's been intentional blindsided into Mandalorian season 3.

How is this possible?
Wililjam2 February 2022
This show went from a 6.5/10 to easily a 10/10.

This is just perfection, everything Star Wars should be. The fact that they're pulling things from the animated shows, to the books, etc. Is just perfect.

I am at a loss for words. They have honestly outdone themselves with this one. This episode alone puts the last trilogy to shame.

Rambles aside. Wow.

People Will Complain about Lack of Title Character Understandably but...
mataidixiong2 February 2022
We all need to realise this is part of a Star Wars universe now. It is jarring to have gone away from the title character so much in the last two episodes BUT this is a universe and everything that happened on Tatooine this episode ties into the confrontation that is coming. I also think the stuff off world (not spoiling here) will also likely feed into the finale.

Just enjoy this for it what it was, absolute pinnacle Star Wars, we just watched something absolutely iconic and I am forever grateful to et to see something so emotional and so good.

I started this episode with a smile. Then a grin. Then started gasping. Then I started crying. Then I started laughing maniacally. Then I calmed down. Then I started hyperventilating again. No words can describe this. My whole entire life, I've waited for this moment. And then some more. THIS IS THE WAY!!!!!

*The Book of Star Wars
Ellimof2 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Well this show is on a streak of 2 all time Star Wars TV episodes with today's episode that WAY over-delivers. I can't remember a time in Star Wars where they just kept giving more and more of what fans want to see. Lucasfilm has been known to just tease and tease with the big reveal being short.

The only downside of this episode is that the show is called The Book of Boba Fett and he was in it for maybe 1 minute. Now, there were a few other scenes with some connecting tissue to the plot of the show, but it was mainly just an episode of the broader Star Wars universe and it's lore of the mainstream characters. At this point, they can call the show The Return of Jar Jar Binks and have what today had and I'll be happy. I'll take good content and forget about proper TV show structure any day.

Great stuff, but this show has a real problem
hnt_dnl3 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
After the technically impressive episode that re-introduced The Mandalorian to the masses comes this amazing Episode 6 "From the Desert Comes a Stranger". Even the cool title immediately drew me into this one. And the episode didn't disappoint. The episode shifts between the Western vibe on Tattoine and the Empire Strikes Back homages on the planet where Luke is training Grogu. The tense opening scene sets the tone. Cobb Vanth (effortlessly played by Timothy Olyphant) makes a welcome return and delivers a classic "get out of my town" speech to the 4 Pykes that reminded me of The Man with No Name confronting the 4 pistoleros in A Fistful of Dollars. Then the later scene of Cad Bane was reminiscent of Jack Palance's gun-for-hire in Shane. I know NOTHING about this Cad Bane character except he's yet another Star Wars character that fans obsess over. Like I said when they introduced Ahsoka to the Mandalorian show, I couldn't care less about Clone Wars because I never watched it nor have any desire to. I only care about how characters are written on the shows I'm actually watching. And much like Ahsoka's introduction, Cad Bane's was done expertly by the writers. Speaking of Ahsoka, she's another character who makes a welcome return in this episode. Rosario Dawson picks up where she left off giving off vibes of a calm and patient Jedi. Surprisingly, I also really liked Pedro Pascal's acting in these last 2 episodes. I always thought he was too stiff with his line delivery on his own show, but somehow on Boba's show (and I say that ironically), Mando feels more fleshed out and has actual depth. Major props to the technical gurus on this show who did the phenomenal CGI on Luke Skywalker. I actually felt like I was watching Young Mark Hamill during his Return of the Jedi days. The scenes with Luke, Grogu, and Ahsoka were all on point.

But after these last 2 crazy good episodes, this series has a major problem and it's that the main character's story is boring. Boba's stuff from Episodes 1-4 pale in comparison to the incredible content that the production team have delivered in Episodes 5-6. I was wrong in assuming that they would do all the Mando-Grogu stuff either offscreen or in Season 3 of The Mandalorian (which I think is actually still in doubt). They gave fans exactly what they wanted with almost a full episode of Luke training Grogu and the Mando-Grogu connection. So where does this leave Boba with only 1 episode left in the season? Basically, he's been overshadowed by the likes of Fennec, Krrsantan, Mando, Luke, Ahsoka, Grogu, Peli, Cobb, Bane, and The Armorer on his own show. All of these characters are just more interesting and better written than him. And given that the finale must feature most or all of these characters that doesn't leave much room to improve the main character. If this show gets a Season 2 and the entire focus on Boba, I don't foresee it even getting a Season 3.

Star Wars has reached a new peak (AGAIN)
neatmachine2 February 2022
This has been the only episode of any show in existence to make me pause the show so I can freak out and carry on watching.

I could kiss Dave Filoni (on the cheek)

Anyone who gives this less than a 10 is objectively a pure critic and doesn't deserve Star Wars. This is the absolute peak of Star Wars.

I work in 3D and have experience in CGI and I had my hands on my head the whole time, this is the first time I was absolutely gob smacked at how perfect the CG was in the majority of the shots.

An objective 10/10.

My jaw fell to the ground
Horror_Flick_Fanatic3 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I am totally floored by how they brought back young Mark Hamill. I had to freeze frame scenes hoping I would see some imperfections in their deep fake . It's way better than any deep fake I have ever scene. It gave me serious goosebumps. It was so freaking real. Keep in mind the real Mark Hamill is 70 years old.

The dialog pacing is a bit slower than I like but I loved the training session between Luke and Grogu (sp?). With this technology, it would be amazing if they expanded Luke into more episodes in future spin-offs.

Great Just Like The Last One
MamadNobari972 February 2022
But then again, make you ask "why is this show is about Boba Fett again?" Seriously, does any one even care about Boba at this point?

At least this episode connected the Mandalorian with the plot of Boba Fett, only because it's the second to last episode.

This show could've benefited a lot if only the first 2 episodes were about Boba and Fennec, and then integrating other known characters like Mando with them, instead of that episode 3. It just seems to me that they had just the idea of "Boba fights Pykes", but only for 2 episodes, so they had to put filler in there.

Here I go ranting about previous episodes instead of this one again. But how can you not compare it to the previous ones though?

The problem with the show is that it doesn't know what it wants to be. It doesn't have logical consistency and there are lots of plot holes. They also could've told a much better story, like how Boba became the Daimyo, instead of a 1-second flashback. The whole Daimyo story has so many plot holes.

Like even the music, the cgi and cinematography and feel of these two last episodes are completely different from the last 4 and feel like a different show. Like did the writers had all these episodes as a whole in mind, or did they come up with them separately? Cause it's like night and day.

I even rather this show was about The Marshal, because he's so much more of a badass than Boba and this episode proves it.

Anyway, this episode was a joy to watch, so many familiar faces show up and it's really nice to see them again.

There are a lot of amazing and cool western scenery and vibe in the second half.

This episode alone does more justice to a particular character than the new trilogy ever did. And my only little problem with this episode was how that said character talked. I just felt like it was weird how he talked and it was noticeable every time. I don't if he was trying to mimic the behavior and tone of the original, but it really felt unnatural and robotic even.

All in all, it's another great episode after the last one and I hope the next one is good too.

But for the overall show, it's just disappointing that they did this to Boba, it could've been way better and be on par with The Mandalorian, but they just made some weird decisions to make Boba act this way and the plot be weird too.

Ironically, Boba Fett's been overshadowed in his own book.
W011y4m53 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Although this week's installment of "The Book of Boba Fett" is a decent episode set within the universe of "Star Wars"... It's weirdly not a good episode of "The Book of Boba Fett", mainly because it belongs in an entirely different series, "The Mandalorian" S3.

Nobody can deny the impressive technical accomplishments of the crew (who've achieved literal miracles, operating within the confines of a TV budget, bringing a photorealistic, young Luke Skywalker to life on screen), the brilliant cinematography, VFX, production design (etc.) & the skillful direction from David Filoni (a master of building tension - as proved by the expertly crafted Western inspired duel sequence set on Tatooine)... But none of that detracts from the fact that it's entirely misplaced.

Moreover, it just reinforces the damaging perception that Disney+ can't trust Temuera Morrison to single handedly sustain his own spin-off season - named after his very own character, who we assumed would act as the main, leading protagonist - without heavily relying upon the inclusion of others to ensure his relevance / success. That apparent dependency therefore does nothing but hinder the credibility of this franchise when audiences are led to believe that he can't survive, if the creators don't feature additional, recognisable figures.

PLUS, I can't help but feel as though this is increasingly blatant nostalgia bait for die hard fans; instead of carving out a future, writers seem incapable of letting go of the past... Which is an amusing juxtaposition when you take in to consideration the message conveyed by Rian Johnson's divisive blockbuster, "The Last Jedi". Noticeable shift in direction.

The fan service strikes back
fredericofb3 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Why does a mini series of boba fett, that nobody asked for, have 2/7 of its show without the main character? What really is the main story behind its series? It's just a plateau so mandalorian can shine? And what is the mandalorian story all about? What did Ashoka add to this story? Hell, what does Luke add to this story? The cgi is incredible but still fake. The dialogs are cringe. If grogu is still a toddler and can't even speak why is he trained like a regular child? This is just fan service, there's no real story behind it. It has no soul. It amazes me that people are loving it. Maybe because Star Wars fans don't care about a story, compelling and passionate. They just want fan service. Maybe they don't deserve the OT. These new shows are terrible.
