Baby?

Couldn't they have gotten a REAL baby? It was so fake looking that anyone who has even seen a picture of a real baby could tell that baby wasn't real.

After a season of terrible things happening to the characters on the show, the finale had some nice happy endings. Perhaps the producers thought that a renewal wasn't coming, but they will be back next year.

My favorite storyline this year was the Barrett and Rose romance.

The worst part of this episode was the pathetic plastic baby they used. C'mon.

I can't help love this series. But this finale was utterly ruined by the way it was turned in to something incredibly fake, with the use of an animatronic baby. It was lifelike..... but didn't move. Lost all the emotion from any scene involving the child, and turned this eppisode in to a cheap primary school, nativity scene. The bit where everyone crowds around the new born.

A doll, swathed in rags.....

This series is better than this.

Solid way to wrap up the season. The Resident is never blow away TV, but it is easy broadcast viewing.

I was checking the reviews to see if I was the only one who found the fake baby really weird. Actually, it was down right creepy watching everyone smiling and beaming over the birth of a strange looking plastic baby. It was so disappointing and ruined the whole episode.

Hopefully, they will never try to do anything so fake in the future. I can't imagine what they were thinking.

I just couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing ! A fake baby as the daughter of the main characters of a Doctors serie?

I stop seeing the season 5 because I was truly dissapointed!

After a few months I could retake the season 5 !

Producers of the show take this comments to make a real show ! With REAL people !

They really ruin it by using a fake baby, it makes it impossible to get involved in the story, and I had a hard time just watching it to the end..................

As mentioned, the plastic baby is annoying and shows an incredible lack of attention to detail by everyone involved. This detail leads the viewer to examine other elements of the production: wooden acting, unrealistic conversations and an abundance of "acting". You're no longer immersed in the story, in the episode, you're acutely aware you're watching TV. It's easier to accept a poor story than a story being told poorly. How symbolic can a plastic baby be?

S4 goes out with a whimper

Season four was a snooze fest. No wonder the actress who played Mina wanted to leave. This episode features a fake baby, more troubles for AJ's mum, and absolutely no reason for me to watch S5... except I'm a completionist and need to finish the whole series.

Overall, season four was quite boring. Relationships took centre stage rather than medicine, which is why people watched the previous three seasons. I understand it was probably rushed and churned out due to covid, but surely all that time allowed writers to come up with something fresh and exciting instead of this rubbish. It's disappointing.
