Vanderpump Rules star James Kennedy has brought plenty of laughs to the Bravo reality show. Enjoy looking back on some of the DJ’s most hilarious moments on screen, and remember… it’s not about the pasta.
James Kennedy | Presley Ann/Getty Images 1. ‘It’s not about the pasta!’
In Vanderpump Rules season 6, episode 6, James Kennedy and Lala Kent got into a shouting match over… pasta?
When Lala made a joke about eating James’ then-girlfriend Raquel Leviss’ pasta, the DJ became defensive and started attacking Lala’s relationship with Randall Emmett. The scene ends with James following Lala out of the restaurant and repeating, “It’s not about the pasta!”
The line became so iconic that James used it in the name of his podcast, It’s Not About the Podcast.

During a confessional on Vanderpump Rules season 7, episode 4, James Kennedy again went after Lala Kent’s then-boyfriend Randall Emmett.

If there are better stunt professionals than the ones featured in Mad Max: Fury Road, we certainly haven’t seen them. Providing some of the most breathtaking real-life spectacles of that year, or any year, while getting little to no credit for their efforts, these unsung heroes deserve – at the very least — to stay fitfully employed. Thankfully, Warner Bros. feels the same, as the stunt team behind George Miller’s modern action extravaganza will now offer their services to James Wan’s upcoming Aquaman.

For several years now, two of the most financially successful film franchises have been the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Michael Bay’s Transformers series. Those films have cumulatively earned $10.2 billion and $3.8 billion, respectively. So one can’t really blame the folks over at Mattel and Dolphin Entertainment for hoping to combine the superhero storytelling of the former with the built-in appeal of a long-running toy line. Unfortunately, Max Steel reveals just how ill-conceived this approach is in telling an effective story.
Based on the Mattel toys (as well as the 2000 and 2013 animated series they inspired), the film stars Ben Winchell as Max McGrath, a teenage boy who soon begins experiencing dangerous energy bursts when he and his mother (Maria Bello) move back to his hometown, where tragedy occurred years earlier. Before long, the truth begins to unravel, and Max encounters a bizarre creature named Steel (voiced by Silicon Valley‘s...

“Max Steel” is a movie sprung from a children’s action figure: a slick Mattel toy from the late 1990s that varies in length, width and style, depending on which model you picked up. For any prospective viewers, this is perhaps the only fact you need to know upon entering Stewart Hendler’s 92-minute sci-fi journey. If reverence is what you have for Max Steel, then you’ll likely find some enjoyment in his three-dimensional transformation from miniature toy figure to overgrown teenage boy. As for the rest, Hendler (“Sorority Row”) offers up essentially nothing. Despite its sizable production costs,...

Even tweens may find themselves underwhelmed by the new live-action film based on what — for many of them — may be their favorite Mattel action figure. Delivering a bland cinematic origin story which seems calculated to boost Christmas toy sales, Max Steel is a stillborn, would-be franchise starter, sneaked into multiplexes without advance critic screenings. The story revolves around sixteen-year-old Max McGrath (Ben Winchell, perfect for posters on teenage girls' walls), who moves to a new town with his widowed mother Molly (Maria Bello). Max's scientist father was killed years earlier in an industrial accident that may or

While our weekend preview had doubts the film could climb quite so high based on critical reviews (which have now settled in just above 50% on RottenTomatoes), opening day audiences took to the film, awarding it an "A" CinemaScore.

Welcome back to the Weekend Warrior, your weekly look at the new movies hitting theaters this weekend, as well as other cool events and things to check out.
This Past Weekend:
Another bad weekend where nothing really popped, which is bad news for a month at the box office where only Clint Eastwood’s Sully exceeded any expectations. Tim Burton’s new film Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children came out just below my predictions with $29 million, but the Mark Wahlberg-Peter Berg disaster flick Deepwater Horizon was right around where I predicted with $20.2 million. The comedy Masterminds tanked with just $6.5 million for the weekend to end up in sixth place while Disney’s The Queen of Katwe did slightly better than predicted with $2.5 million.
The first full weekend in October has a good deal of competition from the release of the video game Mafia III to the...

Max Steel hits theaters October 14th, and the new trailer offers up a film that feels, perhaps appropriately, like a throwback.
In an age when audiences find themselves forced into conflict over their response to the endless reboots, sequels of long-dead franchises, and adaptations that ultimately make no sense (because things like The Lego Movie come along and blow them away), Max Steel still might not be the toy you were expecting to see on the big screen.
There may be a lot of reasons for that, including the fact that the line of toys doesn’t seem to take up half an aisle at your local store, and that the original TV show came out in 2000 (with a direct-to-video movie coming out almost every year since, until the show’s reboot in 2013), but the name isn’t in heavy rotation on any of the channels your kids force you to watch.

In a new trailer for “Max Steel,” a teenager’s life is turned upside down when he discovers his body produces energy he can’t control. Ben Winchell (“Finding Carter“) plays 16-year-old Max McGrath, who teams up with an extraterrestrial robot named Steel. Together, they form the film’s eponymous superhero. “Your father believed he could save the world,” says the voiceover. “It’s up to you now, Max.” Also Read: Maria Bello Joins Andy Garcia in Young Superhero Movie 'Max Steel' “Silicon Valley” actor Josh Brenner voices Steel, while the rest of the cast includes Andy Garcia,...

Open Road Films and Mattel have released the first domestic trailer for their upcoming live-action adaptation of Max Steel. The movie is based on Mattle's action figure line and animated series from the late '90s/early 2000s. This latest trailer is a lot better than the last international trailer that was released about a week ago. That thing was a mess, but this one is cut together so much better. You actually get a sense of what is going on and what the film is about. That being said, I'm still not sold on Max Steel. That first trailer left a bad taste in my mouth. I need to see more.
I have hope that it will be good, though, mostly because the script was written by Christopher Yost. He is the screenwriter of films such as Hulk Vs., Thor: The Dark World, and Thor: Ragnarok. I've also enjoyed his work on X-Men: Evolution,...

We first got word that Max Steel, the big screen adaption of Mattel’s popular line of action figures, was coming our way in 2009, but expired rights, original star Taylor Lautner jumping ship to headline another movie based on a toy (Stretch Armstrong if you’re wondering), and not knowing when to actually release it kept the movie on the shelf till now. Production finished at the start of Summer 2014, but we’re only now getting our first trailer and an October 21st release (in America. We’re still waiting to hear about this side of the pond). The movie is an original story through and through, with teenager Max McGrath (Ben Winchell) moving back to the town where he was born, where he is blasted with a mysterious energy while looking into the secret past of his father, who died shortly after Max was born. Discovering he can now manipulate energy,...

"Max - you can use your energy in many different ways: you can run faster, be stronger." Another toy movie! Open Road Films has debuted the official Us trailer for the Max Steel movie, adapted from one of Mattel's popular line of toys. The movie is about the adventures of teenager Max McGrath, played by Ben Winchell, and his alien companion Steel - when they combine powers they become "Max Steel". The movie also features Josh Brener, Ana Villafane, Andy Garcia, Maria Bello and Mike Doyle. The villain seems to be some other weird alien force that comes after Steel and the people of Earth. This is some serious sci-fi and I'm glad they don't hold back in that aspect, but the rest of it seems a bit too cheesy for my tastes. I have no connection to the toys, but I kind of wish this looked better than it does,...

About his role in the infamously terrible Jaws 4: The Revenge, Michael Caine once said “I have never seen the film, but by all accounts it was terrible. Yahoo! Movies has released the first domestic trailer for the upcoming long delayed live-action Max Steel film. The film stars Ben Winchell, Ana Villafañe, Maria Bello, Molly McGrath, and Andy Garcia.

Max Steel is an in-depth “origin” story packed with captivating characters and fast-paced action. The plot chronicles the adventures of Max McGrath and his mother have just moved back to Copper Canyon, the town in which Max’s scientist father died in a mysterious accident shortly after Max was born. As Max adjusts to his new school, things get complicated when his body starts to generate strange energy flare-ups that he can’t control.
At first a confusing mix of inconvenient and exhilarating, this unpredictable power eventually grows too intense for Max to handle, causing him to distance himself from those around him including the girl he likes, Sofia. Eventually the energy pushes...

The previously released Japanese trailer for Max Steel introduced us to the main characters, but this longer U.S. version gives us a much better idea of what to expect when the movie hits theaters on October 21. There's also the added bonus of being able to understand what's being said this time - though, to be honest, some of the dialogue on display may make you wish you didn't. The story revolves around 16-year-old (yes, obvioulsy 22-year-old actor Ben Winchell is playing a teenager) Max McGrath and his alien pal Steel, who combine their powers to become the "turbo-charged superhero Max Steel." Check out the new trailer below and let us know what you think. Based on a toy and animated series, the film chronicles the adventures of 16-year old Max McGrath (Winchell) and alien companion Steel, who must harness and combine their tremendous new powers to evolve into the turbo-charged superhero Max Steel.

Mattel action figure and superhero Max Steel gets his first feature film this year. Here's the first trailer to prove it...
If such disparate movies as Robosapien, Battleship and Jem And The Holograms have anything in common, it's that they all prove that not every movie based on a toy or board game can be a roaring success like Michael Bay's Transformers franchise. Bay's robot action movies may be bullet-proof when it comes to reviews, but audiences don't always turn out in huge numbers to see a film based on a familiar name.
This might explain why, following a development period which began way back in 2009, the marketing for Max Steel feels rather apologetic. Based on Mattel's 90s line of action figures, the movie's an origin story about Max McGrath (Ben Winchell), a young man with extraordinary powers of speed and strength.

Kamala Lopez’s searing documentary “Equal Means Equal” aims to examine how women are treated in the United States today, zeroing in on all manner of issues related to gender discrimination, from workplace harassment to the wage gap, domestic violence to sexual assault.
The film uses both real-life stories and precedent-setting legal cases to “uncover how outdated and discriminatory attitudes inform and influence seemingly disparate issues and…reveals the inadequacy of present laws that claim to protect women, ultimately presenting a compelling and persuasive argument for the urgency of ratifying the Equal Rights Amendment.”

Audrie Pott and Daisy Coleman never met each other in person, but the two American teenagers shared a horrific personal experience that’s becoming all too commonplace in a culture dominated by internet interactions. Sneak Peek images from the upcoming "Max Steel" feature film, based on the Mattel action figure line, directed by Stewart Hendler, starring Ben Winchell, Maria Bello, Andy Garcia and Mike Doyle, opening August 26, 2016:
"It’s very much designed to be grounded within the teen experience," said Hendler about the new film:
"'Max Steel' is an origin story following 'Max McGrath' who suddenly begins generating massive energy bursts from his body. Max meets a 'techno-organic' alien named 'Steel' and the two form a symbiotic bond that keeps their individual energies under control..."
"Neither of them can live without the other," said Hendler, "and they drive each other crazy. But when they work together, they can actually be something cool..."
Created internally by Mattel, the "Max Steel" franchise spans multi-platform entertainment, toys and consumer products.
The Max Steel line of action figures produced by Mattel initially sought to emulate Hasbro's original 12-inch 'G.

If you grew up in the ’80s, chances are you were a He-Man and the Masters Of The Universe fan. The original animated series ran for 3 years and was something of a phenomenon of its time; its popularity eventually leading to a movie starring Dolph Lundgren. That was… not so great, but Sony Pictures and Escape Artists have had a reboot in the planning stages for years now, and it looks like we finally have some movement on it.
Variety reports that Chris Yost (Thor: The Dark World, Max Steel and the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok) has been hired to do a rewrite of the script , which was originally penned by Terry Rossio and Jeff Wadlow. They don’t provide any other details, but do add the following synopsis:
“Set on the planet of Eternia, the story follows a warrior named Prince Adam who has the power to transform into the heroic He-Man.
