Jenna Ellis became the 4th co-defendant of four-time indicted former president Donald Trump to flip on him on Tuesday and, for Seth Meyers, it was the clearest indication that they all really learned from Trump’s book. They’re just making different kinds of deals.
Ellis pleaded guilty on Tuesday to one count of aiding and abetting false statements in the Georgia election interference case against Trump. Vowing to cooperate with Fulton County officials, Ellis avoided jail time for the felony, and instead was sentenced to five years of probation and ordered to pay $5,000 in restitution money.
“So I guess in the end, [Trump] did teach them all the art of the deal,” Meyers mocked on Tuesday night.
The NBC host was, of course, referring to the title of Trump’s book, first published in 1987.
Indeed, Ellis became the 4th co-defendant to turn on Trump, and the third of this week alone.

This episode contains major spoilers for "Succession" season 4 episode 2.
In the latest episode of "Succession" season 4, "The Rehearsal," love was not in the air. Connor (Alan Ruck) and Willa's (Justine Lupe) rehearsal ended with the premature departure of the bride-to-be. Shiv (Sarah Snook) and Tom (Matthew Macfadyen) are still on the road to divorce too.
Shiv made it official in the season 4 premiere, "The Munsters," but divorce was the only way the Roy-Wambsgans marriage was ever going to end. Back in season 1, Shiv tried to pressure Tom into an open marriage. In the season 2 finale, "This Is Not For Tears," Tom pondered to Shiv, "I wonder if the sad I'd be without you would be less than the sad I get from being with you." Prolific character actor Sean Whalen may be best known for playing Roach in Wes Craven’s The People Under the Stairs, but he has over 140 other screen acting credits to his name as of today, and now he’s set to make his feature directorial debut with a horror movie called Crust… a strange tale that involves a sock monster. Whalen has reserved the lead role for himself, but Deadline reports that he’s also building up a strong supporting cast. Succession‘s Alan Ruck (who may still be best known for playing Cameron in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off) and genre regular Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp) have joined the cast, which also includes Daniel Roebuck (Rob Zombie’s The Munsters), Rebekah Kennedy (Two Witches), Shawntay Dalon (Detroiters), Ricky Dean Logan (Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare) and Daniel John Kearney (Dark Circles).

Elvis has a lot of buzz this awards season, but Baz Luhrmann didn’t get the story right. The real Elvis Presley traded places with an impersonator in order to live a simple life as an impersonator himself before retiring to Mud Creek, Texas alongside John F. Kennedy, who was patched up and dyed Black after the assassination attempt.

On a cold, wet weekend in Atlanta at the end of January, there gathered 600 colorfully dressed characters that included the Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Mummy, Baby Yoda, Stitch, Indiana Jones, the Brady Bunch, Haunted Mansion Ghosts, a Yeti, zombies — and hula performers, Maori haka dancers, and countless bartenders serving up the alcoholic kind of zombie, along with many other cocktails.

A decade ago, when NBCUniversal launched Cozi TV in just 43 markets, diginets were still a novel concept, so no one was quite sure how to gauge its success. As with many diginets at that time, Cozi was powered by direct-response advertising.
“It was new ground for our owned stations division,” says Meredith McGinn, EVP of NBCU local media, multicast networks and original programming. “On the ad sales front, there was some disbelief that the direct response marketplace could be as fruitful as it has been. Not only did we gain in distribution, we also made huge milestones in revenue.”
Over the past five years, McGinn says Cozi has tripled its general market ad revenue. “The brand response ad category has really been revolutionized. The ads are quite different and more engaging than they’ve ever been.”

Lisa Loring, who played the original Wednesday Addams on “The Addams Family” from 1964 to 1966, died Saturday. She was 64 years old. She died from complications from a stroke caused by high blood pressure, per media reports.
Loring is best known for her role in AMC’s macabre comedy, “The Addams Family,” in which she played the adorable-but-morbid Wednesday Addams. Though she only played the creepy pet-collecting, headless doll carrying-character for two years, she set the mold for live-action portrayals of Wednesday for decades to come. Most recently, Jenna Ortega, who plays Wednesday Addams in the Netflix series “Wednesday,” was inspired by Loring’s portrayal of the character, particularly her shimmying dance called “The Drew,” which gained renewed attention when Ortega redid it for the Netflix show.
Loring was born in the Marshall Islands to parents who had served in the Navy. She lived in Hawaii before coming to Los Angeles with her mother.

Founded in 1979, Fangoria has become one of the most influential horror brands in the genre, living up to its moniker as “First in Fright.” At one time the only place on newsstands where fans could read about the world of contemporary horror, Fangoria...

Much like movies, video game companies have historically been eager to make games based on popular TV shows. To be fair, certain shows do lend themselves to great games. Capcom was able to spin gold out of the Disney Afternoon animated lineup, and Konami’s big arcade hits were based on the ever-so-popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, an extremely early take on The Simpsons, and an X-Men cartoon.
Sometimes, though, you got some really weird adaptations. While some are remembered for the wrong reasons, others have been mostly lost to time despite being based on once-popular properties. Here are just some of the most bizarre and forgotten games based on popular TV shows.
15. The Real Ghostbusters (Arcade)
In 1987, developer Data East took a bird’s eye run-and-gun with crazy monster designs called Meikyuu Hunter G and spruced it up with an extra player and bells and whistles that made it qualify as a Ghostbusters tie-in.

Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman and Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily in The Munsters
A reworking of a classic series which achieves something surprisingly similar in tone, The Munsters is not what most people would expect from a Rob Zombie production. It’s whimsical, it’s family friendly, and it’s really very sweet. A large part of that is down to Zombie regular Jeff Daniel Phillips, who plays the newly created Herman Munster, a monster just getting his bearings in the world when he meets Sheri Moon Zombie’s Lily, who will become the love of his life. Like a big screen sitcom with wild colours and a loud rock soundtrack, the film is definitely a niche work, but will delight many longstanding fans. When I meet Jeff, he tells me that he numbers amongst them.
“I was a huge fan growing up, definitely. And everybody else was also.

When Rob Zombie first announced his interest in adapting classic sitcom The Munsters, star Jeff Daniel Phillips told me, fans of the series were nervous. They expected what most of us do from a Zombie film – a gorefest with a cynical take on life and lots of gratuitous violence, starring the director’s wife. This is a very different piece of work from the cult director, however, and only the latter of those things applies. It’s surprisingly close to the spirit of the original, but with an added layer of meta-humour which, though often playing with irony, somehow also manages to be full of heart.
Sheri Moon Zombie plays Lily (of course), whilst Phillips is Herman, freshly made from not-so-fresh parts and just starting out in the world. As the film opens, with Lily’s father The Count rising from his coffin and putting his back out, Lily is on a date.

Just when you thought Rob Zombie’s The Munsters would be the most divisive movie of the year, Halloween Ends came along to dominate the discourse. Given the contentious reaction among fans, I was eager to hear the audio commentary that accompanies the film on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD – which is now available online and at all major retailers.
Here are 10 things I learned from the track, which features director/co-writer David Gordon Green, actors Andi Matichak and Rohan Campbell, co-producer/first assistant director Atilla Salih Yücer, and production assistant (a rarity in special features!) Hugo Garza.

It's almost impossible to talk about the original 1964 "The Addams Family" without mentioning the other 1964 television show that also features a family of outcasts: "The Munsters." During their heyday, both of these monster-centric sitcoms famously aired during the same time slot, but on different networks, forcing viewers to pick a side. If you were Team Addams, you most likely loved the macabre antics of Morticia and Gomez and their two odd children, Wednesday and Pugsley, but if you were Team Munster, you probably enjoyed your sitcom quirk with a little more actual monster to it.
"The Addams Family" — which is based on "The New Yorker" cartoon created by Charles Addams — depicts a family of outcasts who love all things dark and dangerous, whereas the Munsters are actual monsters —I.E. Frankenstein and Dracula and a werewolf son, oh my! — living relatively normal, suburban lives. These differences are at the heart...

Writer/director Joe Begos‘s holiday horror film Christmas Bloody Christmas – which got an 8/10 review from our own JimmyO that you can read Here – is now playing in theatres, and is also available to watch on the Shudder streaming service. And if the movie does well, Begos is hoping to have the chance to make two sequels back-to-back! The filmmaker revealed his sequel hopes during an interview with Bloody Disgusting’s The Boo Crew podcast.
Christmas Bloody Christmas has the following synopsis:
It’s Christmas Eve and fiery record store owner Tori Tooms just wants to get drunk and party, until the robotic Santa Claus at a nearby toy store goes haywire and makes her night more than a little complicated. Santa Claus begins a rampant killing spree through the neon-drenched snowscape against a backdrop of drugs, sex, metal and violence, ultimately forcing Tori into a blood-splattered battle for survival...

While Violent Night is lighting the box office on fire, there’s another film featuring a Santa with a bit of bloodlust: Christmas Bloody Christmas. Thankfully this Santa is much less friendly and a lot more homicidal. I was fortunate enough to talk with the writer/director, Joe Begos, and pick his brain on this wonderful little title. He talks about how it started as a Silent Night, Deadly Night remake, only to evolve into a killer robot Santa film. This is probably my favorite conversation yet, so don’t miss it!

The current generation of horror fans might know Shawnee Smith as the unstable Jigsaw protege, Amanda Young, in the "Saw" movie franchise, but older moviegoers remember the time she battled a supersized man-eating slimeball.
Chuck Russell's "The Blob" is one of the great movie remakes, retaining the small-town thrills of the 1958 original while improving elements like the incredible special effects needed to pull off the monster of the title. The story was originally inspired by the real-life accounts of two cops who, in 1950, observed something falling from the sky that, upon closer inspection, appeared to slowly propel itself. Irvin Yeaworth's atomic age feature was a highly dramatized version of said events, and by the time the 1988 version came along, the Blob went from an extraterrestrial substance to one engineered in a secret government lab. In Russell's iteration, Shawnee Smith stars as Meg Penny, one of the youths that go toe-to-slime with the creeping creature.

Horror fans looking for something new to stream this October are in luck, as we’ve got the rundown of where to stream 79 horror movies from 2022.
The slasher “X” and “The Black Phone” with Ethan Hawke — which are both set in the ’70s — are now on streaming, as is Jordan Peele’s “Nope,” David Cronenberg’s “Crimes of the Future” and Rob Zombie’s take on classic ’60s sitcom “The Munsters.”
And you may have missed these foreign films: “The Innocents,” a Norwegian movie about children who misuse their supernatural powers; Austria’s “Luzifer,” which earned lead Franz Rogowski a Best Actor award at Fantastic Fest; Dutch folk horror film “Moloch;” “The Sadness,” an extreme body horror/zombie movie from Taiwan; “Saloum” from Senegal, which The Guardian called “slick gangster horror in wild west Africa;” and “Speak No Evil,” in which a get-together with a couple from Denmark and one...

In March of 2010, Deadline announced that Tim Burton was officially in production on a stop-motion animated version of "The Addams Family," based on the famously macabre Chas Addams comic strips that ran in the New Yorker. The ghoulish characters were to be designed to look like their original drawings, and it was to be released in black and white. The project was canceled, rumor has it, when Universal lost the film rights to the property. Burton did not make "The Addams Family," but he did end up leaning into a black and white, stop-motion animated film in 2013 with "Frankenweenie," a remake of his 1984 live-action short film. MGM eventually took the reins on the "Family," and released a CGI animated film in 2019. MGM's film, which starred Charlize Theron and Oscar Isaac, was popular enough to warrant a sequel in 2021.

Just in time for Halloween, Peacock has announced that it has gone straight to series on Crystal Lake, a prequel drama based on the hit horror movie franchise, Friday the 13th.
Bryan Fuller, the prolific television creator behind such shows as American Gods and Star Trek: Discovery, will write, showrun and executive produce the series, which will be produced by A24, the studio known for buzzy movies such as Everything Everywhere All at Once and this year’s horror one-two punch, X and Pearl.
Friday the 13th is the horror franchise that launched in 1980 and gave the world Jason Voorhees, the hockey-masked slasher who mostly kills in and around the verdant and idyllic grounds of Camp Crystal Lake (except for the rare jaunt to New York or outer space).

Studio script doctoring is remarkably lucrative work. According to a 2016 Hollywood Reporter survey, when a massively expensive film needs tweaking prior to or during shooting (or during last-second reshoots), A-list screenwriters who can deliver high-quality work within a tight window can pull down as much as 400,000 per week. Depending on the film and how broken the script is, that meter can run an awfully long time. That's some serious cheddar.

Her name’s Elvira, but you can call her tonight–or Cassandra Peterson, her real name. Peterson, who gained popularity as the busty, double entendre-spitting Elvira, has revealed that there may be life for the character, even after she retires.
In a new interview with Variety, Peterson said, “I think I will retire, but I do not think that Elvira will ever retire. Elvira can completely go on without me even if I die, which I will at some point, I think the character will continue to be around. I think it can kind of be like Santa Claus is to Christmas.”
However, Cassandra Peterson isn’t so sure somebody could physically play Elvira for longer than a short stint. “If I did a biopic or, say, a Broadway production. I think somebody else could definitely play me. But I don’t think that they would permanently become Elvira. Unfortunately,...

As detailed in Linda H. Davis' 2021 biography "Charles Addams: A Cartoonist's Life," the longtime illustrator for the New Yorker, famous for his ghastly, grim sense of humor, suffered a heart attack in 1988 while sitting in his own parked car. Addams' widow, Marilyn "Tee" Miller, pointed out shortly thereafter that her husband had always been a car enthusiast and that the location of his death was perfectly fitting. While Addams did have a ghoulish sensibility and a passion for the macabre -- he and Miller married in a pet cemetery -- he was, by all accounts, a gentle and silly man who looked more like a journalist than a mortician. Although he did have a coffee table that had been converted from an old embalming table.
From Addams' hand came a glorious miasma of death and gallows humor that graced the pages of his publication from his first published strip in 1937 until his death 50 years later.

Cassandra Peterson has been Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, for almost half a century, but this October marks her one-year anniversary of becoming an official queer icon. Peterson came out in her memoir “Yours Cruelly,” which is now available in paperback. At age 71, Peterson has rung in 40 years as Elvira, but is hanging up the black wig and slinky dress for now.

Starting in fall 1964, children across America could watch CBS’ The Munsters but come January 1966, they seemingly all flipped the dial to ABC and Batman. The superhero series’ smash ratings cast a death spell on the humorous take on the classic monsters, with the exaggerated look as perfected by Universal’s horror films of the 1930s. Fred Gwynne was a delight as Herman Munster, paired nicely with Yvonne DeCarlo and Al Lewis. The sitcom transferred traditional family drama tropes to the residents of 1313 Mockingbird Lane and for 70 episodes, it was tremendous fun, revived for wildly successful syndication.
Ever since, there have been revivals in feature films, animated series, and failed attempts at series revivals. Now, here comes director Rob Zombie with his take on the classic characters, largely retaining the look of the original series, but in garish color.

Few Netflix originals have received as much advance press and social media attention than Andrew Dominik’s “Blonde,” his adaptation of Joyce Carol Oates’ novel about Marilyn Monroe starring Ana de Armas. It would have been surprising had it not immediately risen to #1 on the streamer’s top 10 movie list — and it did. That lasted three days.
Facing critical backlash and less-than-stellar word of mouth, it’s now at #3. To add to the ignominy, what replaced it was the Gerard Butler thriller “Last Seen Alive,” which had a brief run as a direct-to-vod release in May.
In recent weeks, Netflix originals “Lou,” “End of the Road,” “Me Time,” Day Shift,” and “Look Both Ways” all spent more time atop its movie-watching chart. Some had stars like Kevin Hart, Mark Wahlberg, Queen Latifah, and Jamie Foxx to elevate them. De Armas is not the same boldface name, but her credits include “Knives Out,...

In “The Munsters,” the director Rob Zombie makes a game attempt to pass off his amateurishness as attitude. It’s like watching a Tim Burton film with the cheekiness turned up to 11 and the film technique dialed down to 2. Yet “The Munsters,” the family-of-ghouls ’60s sitcom that Zombie is adapting, was such a ticky-tacky piece of gothic bat-house surrealism that the movie, broad and slovenly as it is, works more than it doesn’t. The film is a lot like its hero, Herman Munster: benignly dim-witted, Day-Glo in color, top-heavy with tomfoolery, lumbering in one direction and then the next, always cracking itself up in an innocently aggressive monster-mash way.
“The Munsters” debuted in 1964, in the middle of the age of theater-of-the-absurd American sitcoms, yet the show, if anything, was less corny, less obvious, and lighter on its feet than this overstuffed update/reboot, with its Famous Monsters of...

It was hard to picture how Rob Zombie’s film adaptation of The Munsters might play. Would it be, say, a profanity-laden ’70s period piece where Grandpa Munster was a pedophile? Instead we get the heavy-metal horror auteur’s first “kid-friendly movie”––though that is to acknowledge virtually no child would probably be into the longueurs of this oddball exercise.
With no relationship to the original sitcom, I was able to gather that it took on the nuclear family of the ’50s and ’60s, and one imagines the easy subtextual route for a modern adaptation would’ve been the destruction of this so-called unit in the chaotic 21st century. With the tipoff that the childless couple has no little Eddie Munster in this iteration, this is a wholly personal use of IP that almost comes off like Zombie re-telling the story of him and his wife Sheri falling in love...

Say what you will about Rob Zombie, but you can’t pretend he isn’t consistent. As a musician, a stage performer and a filmmaker, Zombie has made a lucrative and (mostly) artistically intriguing career out of his boundless affection for schlock. Whether it’s ultraviolent horror movies, low-budget luchador adventures or goofy monster sitcoms, his love of B-movie media always jumps out at the audience. And at his best, he convinces us to love his weird obsessions too. At his worst… well, we’ll get to that.
Honorable Mention: “Grindhouse”: “Werewolf Women of the SS” (2007)
Rob Zombie’s fake trailer from the 2007 double-feature “Grindhouse” stands out, but not necessarily in a good way. His teaser is a rather obvious riff on exploitation sleaze like “Ilsa, She-Wolf of the SS,” but making her an actual wolf, with tasteless Nazi imagery and an also tasteless cameo from Nicolas Cage as the racist caricature Fu Manchu.
