good mini series from taiwan
ksf-210 April 2022
A miniseries from taiwan. When a young girl gets murdered, it turns out someone had been stalking her at her apartment. A female officer was in the process of trying to help the girl when it all came down. And... the murder seems to be connected to another one from twenty years ago. And to make her job more difficult, the female officer's supervisor doesn't approve of how she works. The victim had friends, who also want to see the murderer caught. It's quite well done. The subtitles are really good. Some confusion as we keep going into flashbacks for the various characters. Sometimes I didn't realize we were even in a flashback for some time. One season released so far, of fifteen episodes. Unfortunately, the information on imdb is still pretty sparse, so there is still much info to be filled in. Hopefully someone familiar with the language can fill in more data. As of today, the director is listed as po-hao hung, with writer chien-ming huang.

Falls apart
Jack_C_12 August 2022
The first 10 episodes are strong. Acting and script are believable and entertaining.

The story starts falling apart in episode 11. Nonsense legal drama are slapped on like a dismembered corpse. Characters take actions that would never happen in the real world.

I had to stop watching during episode 12. The sloppy writing became too annoying to swallow, even for this native of Taiwan.

Taiwan police drama that loses its way
wix9919 August 2023
This series is an interesting police procedural about the investigation of a series of murders in New Taipei City. The main characters all have interesting back stories which are developed as the show progresses. It shows some of Taiwan's linguistic and cultural diversity with Vietnamese and Cantonese speaking characters (although the majority of the dialogue is in Mandarin and Taiwanese). The main problem with the series is that it goes off on a tangent after episode ten and loses focus on policing and becomes more of a story about revenge and personal trauma. With a more focused script this series could have been much more worthy of attention.
