Susie's speech at the funeral was so perfect, it brought tears to my eyes. How true is it not knowing what a person has lived through or experienced, only to be taken for granted later in life. Rest well Brian Tarantina.

There are some choice moments. I wish the strip club wasn't the transitional piece, but when Lenny Bruce returns, he is the boost. Then there is Abe's appearance at a new Broadway musical, written and directed by a relative. He is obligated to write a review for the Village Voice where Tony Shaloub shows his brilliance. He then confronts his acidic community at a Bar Mitzvah. But the creme de la creme is a speech by Susie at the funeral of a friend she barely knew. She hijacks another funeral when no one shows up for her friend's. This is one of the best movie eulogies ever. Great return.
Highs Lows and a lot of In-Betweens

This episode exhibits, perhaps, the most moving dramatic moment to date. Alex Borstein owns four minutes of poignant dialogue that will stay with you for a long, long time. A true highlight. The Burlesque theater bits...all of them...are just the opposite. Well filmed, well-paced but overly long. They seemed to be distractions. Rose's matchmaker attempts fall into the distraction category as well. It too is a miss.
The in-betweens would be huge plusses for just about any other offering. But when it comes to this series, the bar is much higher. A running gag about Midge's none too successful summer camp theater attempt is handled deftly, hits hard and just often enough. The punch line delivered in a crowded Synagogue makes it all the funnier. There are other story lines within the story lines that are pretty funny too. The mistaken identifies at a Bar Mizpah come fast and they're funny too. Tony Shalub (sp) has fine moments throughout.
I'd like to rate this offering higher, but I can't. The out of place and hard to believe 'f' bombs delivered almost constantly made this more than a little tough to accept. To priests, rabbis, children, in theaters in restaurants, during religious services and no one even reacts. Hard to believe in 1960 and hard for me to sit though in 2022 without asking why it necessary to throw so much profanity into the story and why not a single person reacted to any of it.

Alex Borstein (Susie) delivers one of the greatest monologs of all time. Brilliant, emotional, heart wrenching. Her speech brought tears to my eyes. She blew my doors off. Huzzah! The rest of the episode was beautifully filmed. Every shot a feast for the eyes. Rachel Brosnahan (Miriam) was as solid as ever. However for me, Tony Shalhoub (Abe) always steels the show.
If Bornstein doesn't get ALL the awards for this, I'll spit

Impeccable performance. Not only a beautiful zen doff to a beloved character but and lovely tie into a main characters new trajectory. Bornstein brings such heart and genuine pain to her performance, it's nearly palpable.

These scenes alone were enough for this to be a 10.00 for me!

People are giving this episode 10 star ratings like it's the best thing since sliced bread, but it wasn't, save for Susie's fantastic eulogy. The rest of the episode was mediocre at the best. Mrs. Maisel is still screaming, there's way too much focus on the side characters and for god's sake, no one swore like that in 1960. Never. Never ever. I'm so tired of millennials trying to rewrite history by jamming 21st century speech into period pieces.
Susie's eulogy though? Fantastic. For that, three stars on its own. Not enough to save this season.

One of the reasons we like to watch this show is the era that it is from. While we are far from offended about swearing in shows, it just seems so out of place here.
Susie is so annoying this season and it's hard to find her redeeming.
Not sure what the show is becoming, but I hope it somehow returns to the roots of season 1-3.
