Amazing Series

What a wonderful series! This taught me such more about the ladies to be admired. Please tell me that you can find more and do this again! Told me stories that I may have lived through, but never knew the whole truth. All actresses are amazing in their parts. Thank you so much!

All three former first ladies leave the white house as champions!

"Victory Dance" the season finale of "Showtime's" "The First Lady" was one well done and memorable episode that helped close out the season. Ending with president Franklin and Eleanor's husband passing, still Eleanor is given a gift a present like when she's appointed as a speaker and attendee at the League of Nations summit. Meanwhile in the late 70's and early 80's Betty Ford has finally come to terms with her own personal demons of addiction and has a treatment place named after her "The Betty Ford Clinic". And finally we see Michelle leave the white house as a very popular first lady as she writes her own biography book "Becoming". Now talk about an impact that these first ladies made during their husband's time in office all are to be respected and remembered, once again the acting was in top notch form with the episode ending with all three ladies coming out on top!

Okay!

I don't know if it could have ended any other way. We get to see the three First Ladies as accomplished, socially admirable people. Eleanor Roosevelt goes on to be as accomplished as her husband, force to care for him under sad circumstances. Betty Ford throws herself at substance abuse and alcoholism. The Obamas leave the White House and Michelle writes a book. These are good things but the presentation was dull as drama goes. So it sort of fizzled as a conclusion.

Fitting end to a dismal series.

The show, in general, had many problems. The main problem was Viola Davis. She simply is not a skilled actor and is very tough to watch. Gillian Anderson was average but on the bright side Michelle Pfeiffer was excellent as usual.

This was a weakest episode in the series and that says a lot. Don't blame Showtime for cancelling this series as there was very little interest in terms of ratings.

Maybe you enjoyed it. It didn't work for me. Just my two cents worth.
