In May of 2010, the National Enquirer ran a story on George Lopez having cheated on his wife with prostitutes. A professional escort, who uses the name Tiffany, told the Enquirer that in 2009 Lopez had gotten her number from a website she uses to advertise her services and that he called her to arrange a meeting at his hotel room. Tiffany said Lopez paid her $500 to have sex with him. She also said that Lopez told her he liked to use the same hookers regularly 'that way, I always know what I'm going to get'. Tiffany went on to add that she later found out he had hired a fellow hooker, by the name of Samantha, the same day he had seen her.
The prostitute passed a polygraph lie detector test she took after making these claims.
When asked to comment on having had sex with Tiffany and Samantha, Lopez denied ever having met with them.
The news of George Lopez cheating on his wife with prostitutes came as a shock, because his wife had saved his life by donating a kidney to him in 2005, after Lopez nearly died in 2004 from kidney failure.
In 2010, George Lopez was accused of being extremely rude to a fan and refusing to take a picture with her. The fan turned out to be a Mexican radio show personality and she took the incident to live radio.
Mexican radio show personality, La Vozalona (Marlene Quinto), as part of the Mexican radio show, "El Show de Don Cheto", said that she had met George Lopez at a Cuban restaurant in which she was eating with a friend and when she saw that he had finished eating and seemed on his way out, she approached him near the exit of the restaurant while he was taking a picture with a fan and told him that she wanted a picture with him, to which she said he became very rude and disrespectful and told her she had to wait and that "even Mexicans have manners and say please". Confused, La Vozalona said she told Lopez she was a big fan and one of his many followers on Twitter, to which she said that he told her to shut up and take the picture already. La Vozalona said she told Lopez to stop being rude, because she could "burn" him and that he responded, "What, you think I care?".
This was very surprising for many and many considered Lopez a big hypocrite for the incident, considering he's been criticizing and ridiculing CHiPs (1977) star Erik Estrada for many years for not shaking his hand and refusing to sign an autograph when Lopez was 17, while Estrada filmed an episode of CHiPs near Lopez's neighborhood.
