Eric Morecambe was a resident of Harpenden, Hertfordshire. The Eric Morecambe Centre (EMC) at Rothamsted Park opened in September 2021 in his memory.
"Are we back with Lew now?" asks Eric as Ern tells him to dress during the commercial break. Between 1961-68 they'd starred in Two of a Kind (1961) for Lew Grade's ATV franchise on the ITV network - who run adverts, unlike the BBC - before switching allegiance to BBC Television (having made their TV debut in the BBC's Running Wild (1954) in 1954). They transferred again for 1978-83's The Morecambe & Wise Show (1978), this time with ITV's Thames Television.
