Love it!

"Feel like I've groomed you!" So funny!! Man I wonder how this is going to turn out.

Loving the subplot of the doc and coach. Two people who refuse to be vulnerable owning up to each other.

The scene with Jamie and his father was so great. What a touching moment as Roy Becoming a symbolic father figure to Jamie.

Action-packed episode! Solid.

Truly At A Loss for Words...
Macklinfbi10 September 2021
I started this the minute it was available, 9pm pt Thursday. I had a gut feeling this would be a good one after last weeks somewhat underwhelming episode, and by god this somehow exceeded my sky high expectations. It's the longest episode of the series to date but there was not a minute wasted. One of the most satisfying episodes of television I've watched in some time.

And the description for nexts weeks episode has me wishing I could fast forward time.

one heck of a rollercoaster

Warning: Spoilers
So much happened in this episode and all of it weaves together so perfectly. This show handles more serious topics so well. The conversations about fathers hit pretty hard. I've always taken a more Higgins approach with my father while my friends were more like Jamie. It hits you right where it needs to. I thought it was really beautifully done. Roy comforting Jamie was really special too. I'm glad those two are starting to get along. The truth about Ted's father was painful. Seeing Ted cry is painful. I'm glad he's starting to open up and heal and I'm glad that Dr. Sharon is starting to do the same. Him admitting to having frequent panic attacks hit home cause I'm the same. The rest of the coaches comforting him in their own way was special. I don't really understand what they're going for with Sam and Rebecca. I hope that gets cleared up? Either way, fantastic episode as always. I just hope Beard is okay and Nate gets a reality check soon.

I am happy!
mohberrachdi10 September 2021
It is now 1:45 am where I live and I have work tomorrow but had to wait and watched the episode the minute it was available, it took me this long because some parts were ao good I had to watch them over and over.. Every week I come happy to watch Ted Lasso without expectations thinking "Alright, they won't have as much as last week" and boy oh boy I am so wrong!

The feelings, the emotiona, the way they dare rattle every unspoken dilemma and stir every bit of your deepest emotions.. As someone who struggled with my toxic father and making an active effort to be a food father myself now, I bawled my eyes out and sheered and even started yelling from joy in the middle of the night!

Thank you to everyone who worked on this show, thank you Jason, this is the longest episode, 45 minutes, not a second wasted! For me it's the best so far, the way everything culminates to this point..

I am just happy.

Stop making me cry
BruceWayne313 November 2021
I really like this show The show has more depth than just comedy Which is fine I think a lot of people can take something away from this show.

I'm starting to become more and more invested in the characters.

I personally could care less about who hooks up with who, I could go without that.

Best yet?
jayde1983-110 September 2021
This programme keeps raising the bar. Longer episode this week. Jason Sudeikis shines (again) as does Hannah Waddingham, but everyone brilliant. 4 episodes to go and so much happening. Best tele show ever.

What a emotional episode
brandonmckay84 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The whole episode is brilliant! Rebecca and Sam finally meet off the app & it's equal parts awkward & charming. Sharon & Ted finally share a few more moments. Sam & his dad share a really nice moment before the game & Jamie & his dad share a not so nice one after but it leads to Roy showing his softer side. The soundtrack of 'don't look back in anger' & 'somewhere only we know' to end the episode was perfect!

Woke up early just to watch this episode and boy was it worth it!! Longest episode in the series and every second was worth it. These guys just keep raising the bar. Unexpected turn of events won't spoil anything for you.

I have to take back what I said earlier in the season.. This is by far the best episode yet.

May the force be with you. - Ted.

Decent episode, but...
pavel-tsys11 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode as a whole is quite cool, actually last four episodes (5-8) of season 2 are very good, opposite to a cringy start of the season. But few things are not just fit in - I talk about Sam&Rebbeca and Ted&Doc "love" lines. They feel out of place and a bit forced onto those characters. First case, age difference and social status are just ovewhelming, in the real world it would be nothing more than a little affair. Second case, people just didn't like each other from the beginning and there was no chemistry between those characters at all, and now that sudden friendship/sympathy just doesn't feel natural to me. Ted&Rebbeca lovestory would be levels more natural.

Other than that, very good episode on the level of last three ones.

An Unexpected Turn Of Events
intrepidtraveler10 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The highlight of every Friday is the time I can log onto Apple TV and watch Ted Lasso. However, before watching this episode I had no idea what I was getting myself into. (The next part of my review contains spoilers.) The first 24 minutes were as expected with the build up to the big match and Rebecca and Sam finally realizing that they were secretly texting each other. The next half started as a generic beginning to a big game. Players are nervous and the coaches have a huddle. However, what happens afterwords caused my jaw to hit the floor. The nightmarish game and everything that happened afterwords left me stunned. This episode is Ted Lasso at its best. Also, just like Ted Lasso it may have a sweet and soft exterior, but inside the show is a little bit more complex. I am already counting down the hours until the next episode. Let's Go Richmond!!!

If the Premiership was smart, they'd find a way to get more players and teams to allow their names to be associated with this gem of a show.

Honestly at a loss for words. Such a satisfying episode. This show keeps getting better. Roy Kent is currently my favourite character on television, and honestly pretty much every character on this show. In the words of Dani Rojas "Football is life" what it do baby.

Warning: Spoilers
It's beautiful what Roy did supporting Jamie, Ted in tears telling his story is painful, especially if you have similar stories or experienced them. I'm only gonna mention these 2 beautiful moments because they are needed in my life. Now, I read every review of this episode, most are awesome and supporting, a few are saying this has become a classic Hollywood mushy soap opera, I don't know if we live on the same planet, but life is not all happy and laughter and hugs, life is also pain, loss and regrets and so much more , Ted Lasso CAN have a painful past that shaped who he is now, can't he? I'm genuinely asking some folks : is your life perfectly in order so much so that you can't relate/empathise and let the characters on this show reveal their backstories a bit more even tho some of them are not happy ones? I don't think a feel good show has to be all feel-good, cuz that's too easy , that's too temporary, that makes some of us unable to relate, it's okay if some of ya wants that, maybe find somewhere else, but don't totally dismiss it, it doesn't deserve your 1 star, it's not ,it doesn't, there's bad ones , there's far worse ones than this (if one thinks this isn't good).

Hits you hard, just what we needed.
b_shaker33315 September 2021
I rarely write reviews on here. Like maybe once?

But this episode MADE me come on here and write a review.

This show is just fantastic on so many levels. It's funny, it has heart, it's genuine, great characters, and incredible chemistry amongst everybody involved. You just want to root for everyone involved but the show is baked in realism. It's not a fantasy sports story, it's just sincere in its characters.

And this latest episode is the absolute perfect example of everything this series is trying to do. And it succeeded in it's efforts.

It made me cry, and I'm not ashamed to say it. I'm not the most emotional person, but it's impossible not to watch this episode and feel something.

Don't listen to anybody on here with a negative review. They're either haters, or I genuinely feel sorry for them not being able to feel real emotions.

Just the best television has to offer. Done to perfection. Go in with high expectations, and leave satisfied. Thank you everyone involved. I loved it.

Imagine it was reversed
crazelord2 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The positive aspects are based on the scene with Jamie's dad and Roy hugging him (love Roy, he's still the best character) and of Ted finally opening up about his past.

But the Sam and Rebecca relationship is just off-putting and I don't get why everyone is for it. Besides for a dating app not having ages on there (which is just inherintly creepy), if Rebecca was the 21 year old employee to Sam who's in his 40s (or 50s) would everyone be ok with it?

Her ex, Rupert, marrying a young girl was used as a way to show how much of a dbag he is, and now it's just ok because Rebecca is a woman I guess?

Yes they're both adults but it's such an unbalanced power dynamic and a huge age and life gap. It also just feels like a forced plot line to add something to a season that's struggling to find a plot.

It was an unexpected twist but there was nothing foreshadowing it imo. They had barely anything to do with each other before this outside of employment prior. Feels cheap and scandalous just to keep people watching.

The first season was brilliant and deep but no it's just watching really any other show at this point; it's almost episodic really. Hopefully they do dig deeper into this but it feels like whatever magic there was for the first run is gone and it continued just due to popularity.

I must teared up so many times then and now watch bc I'm invested and it's decent enough but I don't really care outside of the occasional moments (usually involving Roy).

Man City
MrFilmAndTelevisionShow10 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Last week I complained that the episode was mere filler every character eneded exactly where they started, no progress was made in anyone plot line, this episode however seems to have resolved almost all the show's character's problems, or at least has brought them to light in Ted's case. The hug of Roy Kent was undeniably the best part of the episode, but finally Sam and Rebecca meeting up - it's about time.
