Had no doubt whatsoever that both "Oh There You Are Perry" and "Swiss Family Phineas" (a play on on 'Swiss Family Robinson') would be at least good. Especially "Oh There You are Perry", which is another change of pace for 'Phineas and Ferb', with a new villain and Candace showing a different side to her again that was not seen to this extent since "Phineas and Ferb Get Busted". Plus any episode that has a lot of Perry the Platypus, love him, already has me sold.
Both episodes are more than just good. Both are actually brilliant. Especially "Oh There You are Perry", which is one of my favourite episodes of 'Phineas and Ferb' and executes its change of pace extremely well. "Swiss Family Phineas" is hardly inferior though, even if it is more conventional structurally and in ideas it is still colourful, enormous fun and nostalgic. Both have everything that makes the show so good, it was a great show throughout its run, one of the few shows on the Disney Channel worth watching for a while and it took a lot for me to criticise any episode of it.
The animation in both episodes is bright and colourful, with some imaginative moments in "Oh There You are Perry". The music is dynamic with the action and the theme song is insanely catchy with very clever and quotable lyrics, that are also relatable. "Come Home Perry" is also a beautiful and meaningful song and shows how much Perry is loved.
Loved the writing in both episodes. That in "Swiss Family Phineas" is as smart and funny as one expects from 'Phineas and Ferb', but the writing in "Oh There You are Perry" is more complex and has more depth. The humour is genuinely funny, and at its best hilarious (even the villain's name in "Oh There You are Perry" raises a laugh) and the more serious ones are quite touching such as "Come Home Perry". The storytelling is energetic and lots of fun, without feeling hectic. The conflict in "Oh There You are Perry" is especially well done.
Characterisation is spot on. Anybody who loves Perry will be in platypus heaven, he is both very amusing and rootable and a character with heart and brains. Seeing a more sympathetic and remorseful side to Candace was refreshing and done beautifully. Doofenschmirtz is riotous in both episodes, with great chemistry with both Perry and the Regurgitator (fun and formidable as an adversary). The voice acting is excellent, particularly from Dan Povenmire and Clancy Brown.
Overall, brilliant. 10/10.
