I enjoyed this film...

...because I have been a fan of Heather way back in the 80's and 90's and have read the book, Don't sweat the small stuff at the time it first came out. It was nice to see Heather back in the game and I thought she did great in her performance. The two daughters performed very well too. I don't watch Lifetime movies because they are generally geared for younger viewers but wanted to watch this one because of Heather and the Carlson book. It's a genuine and heartfelt movie. If you are a fan of Heather or have read the book, watch it...I didn't feel I wasted my time on it. Six stars.
Not too bad

Warning: Spoilers
First I want to say that I hope Heather Locklear's hair and wardrobe was part of her character. She's a beautiful woman. But that seventies/eighties hairstyle and those clothes aged her. With that said, this isn't the worse LMN movie and it isn't the best I've seen. It's a decent family movie. It is a bit slow for my taste. But you can sit down and watch this with the kiddies. There were a couple of oddities that jumped out at me. When the doctor contacts Kristine (Heather Locklear) to inform her of her husband's untimely death, he says your husband has expired. What doctor uses expired for a death. In fact, I don't know of anyone using expired for death. Expired is normally used for the end of products and not human beings. That was odd to me. Then there was Kristine on her knees in the parking lot crying and yelling after hearing this news. People just passed her by and even acted like they were afraid of her. Not one person was curious about what was going on with this woman and if she needed help. I couldn't buy that. This woman was obviously in despair and was no danger to anyone else. Other than that, the movie was alright. Not one I would watch again. But ok.
"Your husband has expired"

What was supposed to be a dramatic scene of a wife being told about the death of her husband over the phone by a doctor had me laughing instead. Is this really the way the medical profession tells loved ones over the phone of a family member's death? "Your husband has expired" is just so cold and makes him sound like a credit card. Besides that unintentional comic part, the rest of the movie came off amateurish and boring. I love Heather Locklear, but she deserved a better movie than this.
Wonderful movie.

This film is about life. It is about difficult change and transition out of nowhere in important times of ones life. This film is about the not so glamorous parts of life. But it is real. It is genuine. The characters feel real. This feels like a real life experience.
Despite being a lifetime movie it is still big budget quality. Every actor plays their role just fine and even has show stopping performances. If you want a heart pulling story, this is the movie.

Like Watching Paint Dry

Nothing happens, it's a waste of time and is about as exciting as watching paint dry. Husband dies and a wealthy self-important widow has to live in the real world by arranging a funeral and raising her spoiled daughters alone. That's about it really.

I read his books and never knew he died. I was shocked. I was interested in his story and this movie with Heather Locklear. She did a wonderful job and glad she is doing so well and back at work. I thought we might lose her.
Her problems mirrored my sisters, with medications mixed with alcohol, after menopause and depression. It's the perfect storm. She survived and so did Heather. It takes a lot of work. Happy to see you Heather. Congrats on your engagement. Your daughter seems really sweet.
The movie was good, worth watching if you liked Richard's books, and to see Heather act again. Lifetime movies aren't for everyone.

Did Not Hold My Interest

Lifetime let me down with this one. This movie was VERY boring. I considered turning it off several times. The movie lacks a plot. In addition, I was not sure what the focus was; the death of the patriarch or the chaos the kids created. This truly was a waste of film. And, my time.
Lifetime movie

A quality project with excellent compelling acting by all. You can tell that theis was a labor of love. I loved the books by Richard Carlson and enjoyed hearing his wife's story after the sudden tragedy that befell them. Thank you for making this inspiring movie.
Worst film I've ever seen

I had to keep watching it because I couldn't believe how bad it was. Such a badly made production with a very dull storyline about a pampered house wife who has to move on after her mega rich husband dies. The acting is unintentionally comical.
Disappointing

We had high expectations because we have been massive fans of this author for many years. She has achieved so much in life and deserves to have a much better film made about her. Shame they never had a good writer and director for this. The casting was a let down too.
