I am shocked to see some comments here about they can't see the passion of Sarah. I think the reason is perhaps Sarah's Asian culture heritage made her less expressive in her emotions (which for me is a good thing frankly) than other cultures.
I see a creative person who is struggle to keep her business alive because of the Pandemic, and more importantly (and sadly), because she is Chinese American (I will refrain from the R word, but we all know what that means). She is clearly a lady with her signature taste (cutesy vantage). If she got time, money, and resources, she would know how to dress herself and take care of her hair. But we see her wearing really worn out sneakers, bleached hair (hiding under the beret), and old t-shirt with holes. And yet, her cup cakes are all cute and (from the look of the customers) delicious. If 'devoting all your time, energy, money, and resources to your business' is not passion, I don't know what is.
As a person who needs creative outlet, I was totally moved by her determination to be true to her self. She could find an easy way out by doing a corporate desk job...And for people who cannot relate to her story and her passion, maybe because they relate 'passion' with someone who is crying every other minute. That's not passion. That's emotional unstable.
Also, QE, please keep featuring those more toned-down personality! I really appreciate to see people who are introvert, rational, and determined to be represented in this show. It is more inspiring than those over the top story line or personality just for the cheap tear effect.
