Went by fast!

That hour went really fast! But the glass in the interrogation room isn't cheap glass normally. Bulletproof crashproof, it wouldn't shatter like that!

Otherwise great!

Yay!

NCIS writers revived their mojo (or maybe new writers were hired!). The characters don't laps into foolishness, the ongoing plot thread is interesting and sustainable, and Pam Dawber is a delight. I hope they keep it up.

Thank you. All my respect.

It's unbelievable that after 19 years I'm still thrilled with this series. Of course Gibs is old...but he is still many times better than most youngsters. Live long and prosper. Thank you for these 19 years.

This was a great episode

Warning: Spoilers
I really liked this episode and seeing Gibbs more in it, the ending was very good where the guy was running through the NCIS Building! The action was really good and it was really surprising but not unexpected that the killer tries to attack an agent since he didn't have any cuffs on.

The fact of him running through NCIS and Torres didn't have his gun was quite scary and then when Vance comes down the stairs and see's what's happening and then Gibb's comes off the elevator and shoots the killer. The killer grabbing Kasie and everyone with their guns on him and Gibbs just coming of the elevator and 'ending' the entire ordeal.

The last 2 minutes of the episode were so action packed, it was really really good!

This year I have watched 10 seasons of NCIS, (1-10), I am currently on Season 10 and am also watching the new episodes as they are released, I have never seen this sort of thing happen in the 10 seasons but I have seen where the bomb exploded in Vance's car at NCIS HQ.

It seems the writers are making the series much more explosive and will we see Dinozzo returning? And Ziva since Michael shared a picture on his Twitter showing a picture of him in the NCIS Uniform!!!

NCIS FOREVER!

NCIS is back to be great

Warning: Spoilers
This was really fantastic episode, everything felt on point there wasn't dull moment. This story isn't really NCIS stuff but not like last season episodes I really didn't care bc the action and drama were good. I liked everything in this episode, the interaction between the characters, finally we got to see Fornell and how he is doing since his daughter died, I liked that Palmer helped him ,that was nice touch. I loved seeing Gibbs back with his team and the team new dynamic with agent Knight. I also liked the new character played By Gary Cole, it seems he will be on more with Marc Harmon not going to be in all the episodes and I think it can work.

The story ended with good twist that actually surprised me as a viewer and they even got it linked to the navy.

As someone said the way the killer run was stupid, really it's that easy to break it?? But it isn't huge deal.

Really entertaining episode like NCIS used to do in the past .

This Episode Really Annoyed Me
hardingtablue21 July 2022
I had a great idea for a final Gibbs scene.

One where he is totally leaving NCIS and he and Marcy have completely fallen in Love. They are in the squad room saying their final goodbyes and as they turn and walk away, Marcy says, "You know, Jethro, when I was young, they didn't call me "Marcy", they called me "Mindy". Gibbs roared that Gibb's "HA!" laugh and says,"Oh sure! And I suppose my dad was a professional football player." They both laugh again as they get in the elevator.

And then today, watching a rerun of the episode, I heard Fornell complain about Gibbs not introducing him to that reporter, "Mindy is it?" "Marcy." Gibbs replies.

Still gets a NINE rating.

Season 19 starts to hit its stride
hindsonevansmike30 January 2024
Closure on the "blown-up boat" hangover from Season 18 ending as Season 19 gets into its stride. Fornell (excellently and sensitively played by Joe Spano) makes some good points about grief, counselling and the like (someone has already posted the dialogue about "orphans, widowers..." in the "Quotes" section for this episode).

Gary Cole's quiet, sarcastic, brooding arrival bodes well for further episodes in this season (and maybe beyond).

Torres begins to open up about what he should have said to Bishop before she vanished. Unfortunately Agent Knight (who has her own problems/demons/history) isn't in the receptive kind of mood, but her "control" issues will no doubt surface at some point.

The mad bomber cum serial killer gets taken out (permanently).

A fine episode!

Warning: Spoilers
After being disappointed by "Blood in the Water", I hoped for a better episode. "Nearly Departed" is definitely better than the episode before it. Still it's nothing to write home about though.

Let's start with the good aspects.

. The production values of the episode are great. "Nearly Departed" is well-directed, the music fits the scenery. The main cast is great. Had no problem with Pam Dawber this time.

. The serial killer story shows moments of intense action and I am interested, where it's going next. The scene at the end was agreed white-knuckling. Alden Parker has an enjoyable debut as well.

But...

. The jokes are not very funny at times and come off awkward. The pacing could have been better too, felt like the mystery dragged a bit. Gibbs is sidelined again. I really agree with a previous reviewer that the writers haven't done a very good job of explaining why Gibbs doesn't want to chase baddies anymore.

Overall, a fine episode.

6/10 HK.

Nearly Departed

Warning: Spoilers
The Gibbs departure feels a little forced, perhaps because they had to rush it, but the Gary Cole character feels like he could fill an interesting void here. The new female agent could certainly work too.

Fornell & Bad Police Work
Johnny_West30 September 2021
The seasoned NCIS agents track down the serial killer in ten minutes and all six of them file into his bat-cave by the front door, and he walks out the back door and disappears. Wow. Even 1950s police shows had somebody cover the back door. I guess Gibbs must be slipping?

Fornell is back from Costa Rica, so he can contribute his whining and dumb ideas. Jimmy the Comedy Coroner is also doing field work now. Will he ever walk into gunfire or step on a landmine?

Multiple errors
moov_e_c_er17 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
First interrogation room- the table not bolted down? The mirror not double layered and shatterproof? No more pandemic glass divider?

This is first ever episode that someone gets out of interrogation room. Isn't the door locked from the outside? What's the protocol?

I watched this series from the beginning and I saw 18 and 19 out of order so I felt in another review like it was dying and weird transitions to next leader. But I went back and watched all 18 in order and then 19 so it all makes sense. Everyone in any position needs to grow, develop, be promoted to higher positions or retire so to hand it over makes sense (let alone for actor/producer Mark Harmon getting up in age, pandemic, protocols and more).

The next episode claim of stopping bleeding from artery in basically about 5 seconds is impossible. The Artery is the big fat blood supplier to the body and any tear, nick, cut, strangulation, pressure issue would almost blow out like a tire or immediate choke out, symptoms like chest clutching or just drop dead. I know all of these errors are used to drop info and move on but they are impossible and not reasonable.
