I highly enjoyed The Mark Twain Prize: Bill Cosby
In deciding to clear my DVR for the fall season, I watched this special that honored Bill Cosby with the Mark Twain prize at the Kennedy Center back in 2009. Among the highlights: Carl Reiner recounting how his son Rob, then 16, told him about this comedian who did the Noah story that Rob then did which got his father to look at the tape to show to his boss, Sheldon Leonard, which lead Mr. Leonard to cast Bill in "I Spy". Rita Moreno performing her rendition of "Brazil". A clip from "The Dick Cavett Show" where Cosby does his story of playing music to him and Jack Benny who laughs quite a bit especially when Bill mentions one of his musicians being the Issac Stern of jazz! I also loved the "Chocolate Cake" story Cosby told in front of "The Tonight Show" audience being segued with the climax of that one from his concert film, Bill Cosby-Himself. And his acceptance speech was both funny and touching. So on that note, I highly enjoyed The Mark Twain Prize: Bill Cosby.
