"Great American Melting Pot" was another greatly educational and entertaining "Schoolhouse Rock!" from my childhood years

Written by Lynn Ahrens and sung by Lori Lieberman, "The Great American Melting Pot" is basically about the mix of various ethnicities from much of the Old World (Europe) countries that came to this land and contributed their own traditions and values that made the United States the great nation we became. There's also a nice spoken section where many kids mention of what nations founded the melting pot and how anyone born here-no matter what nationality they descended from-"can be the president". And what a great refrain that come from Ms. Aherns and Ms. Lieberman: "Lovely Lady Liberty/With her book of recipes/And the finest one she's got/Is the Great Ameriacn Melting Pot/The Great American Melting Pot". So on that note, this animated short originally shown between various Saturday morning ABC programs can still educate and entertain kids like they did me when I was one during the '70s.
