An Excellent Episode

This 1964 b & w show is part of the Golden Age of the LW Show, which runs from about 1955-1968. This was before Aladdin left, the Lennons were fired, and LW hired so many people that songs had to be cut to 2 minutes to get everyone in.

French is the theme, and both the band and singers perform a number such songs. As usual, when given the chance, Aladdin hams it up horribly. He added so much to the show, LW didn't even try to replace him with a similar musician.

With the exception of the Lennons (minus Dee Dee who was off having another baby), everyone there is now dead, the most recent being cellist Charlotte Harris. If you missed it (9/27/2020), it will be back in 4 months, as PBS is now repeating the same shows 3 times a year.
