Fire and Rain

Warning: Spoilers
Well, if you were expecting the show to get less political in its final episode you were surely mistaken as they had a fake 1/6 in this one as fans stormed a judge house in an effort to try and free a social media star.

Still, amidst the chaos this was a wild episode that saw a few characters got pushed to the brink of death and a lot of excitement along the way.

A good episode to end the first batch of OWN episodes on, but overall the third season was a little bit of a letdown. While this was a good finale, a lot of the episodes just did not live up to the quality we expect for a series like this.

Strong episode ..

I've read the reviews of others. (((shakes head))) - I've read "I watched the first 2 seconds and deleted it from my DVR Que" really? DVR is so early 2000's.

I believe this episode was modeled after Jan 6 stuff in DC. I think the thing that was the most real was that this could actually happen, anywhere.

Everyone on that show is a millionaire. You are not. You sit and watch TV all day. What does that say about you?

I never saw Lola in that light before.

Warning: Spoilers
That crazy lovemaking scene that opened this episode clues you in that this is going to be a wild ride.

The chaos and violence that followed was a huge step away from the preachy predictable path this show usually takes.

And Lola kissing her old boyfriend while she still had her husband's seed inside her was jaw dropping.

I'm afraid one of the two injured lesser characters will die.

This episode is so bad.

I comprehend the whole Storming the Capitol reference, but this episode is overly dramatized and very poorly written. I was preoccupied in August when this season finale aired and forgot about it until now, October 6th. I would have never forgotten to watch an episode during seasons one and two, which says a lot about season three. Episode 10 is so poorly written that I was talking out loud to my monitor, expressing how stupid certain scenes were, and how predictable others were. I found myself clicking the skip forward button several times to get past the foolishness. Smh! 2-stars instead of 1 because I actually made it to the end of the episode.

Casting decision abysmal

Aside from the complete lack of chemistry between Lola and Dre (the interactions are forced). The OBVIOUS age difference between the two is all I can focus on. They are supposed to be classmates but there's a 15 year age gap and it is physically obvious. The actor is handsome and in good shape but that doesn't negate the obvious. I'm used to attempting to suspend my view of reality with this show but this is just a stupid casting decision.

The writing that has brought Lola to this "torn between two lovers" also seems forced to me. She's always level headed so it seems she would simply avoid contact with him and not keep responding to him.

So bad So very very bad

Warning: Spoilers
I am sure you didn't have a technical advisor on this episode. How do you have supposedly smart people making the exact worse choices. With the exception of the Amy-Mark continuing storyline the writing was horrible. The deputies are inept, the security "protocols" are just plain dumb. Deputies didn't notice the irregular actions of those in the courtroom. Nobody noticed the build up of people outside the courthouse. Lockdown I guess is a word with no meaning there. The main characters reactions to threat are not consistent with their previous actions over two seasons. For example Luke would not have hesitated to eliminate the threat against the two hostages.

Look I get that you're trying to push an agenda just like previous seasons, this is just plain dumb.

Lola's words and actions are just not consistent with her character either. One can tell that this series will be not be renewed.
