You know The Prince even if you’ve never been to Los Angeles.
The beloved Koreatown bar has been a filming location staple of film and TV since at least Roman Polanski’s “Chinatown,” where Evelyn Mulwray and Jake Gittes sit together at a red leather banquette. Or maybe you recognize it from “Mad Men.” Most people likely know The Prince as The Griffin, the bar that features so heavily in “New Girl” as Nick’s place of employment.
Most recently, The Prince stood in as a dive bar in the first episode of Apple TV+’s new series “Palm Royale,” where Maxine (Kristen Wiig) and Dinah (Leslie Bibb) go for a private chat, far away from their neighbors’ prying eyes.

When, in a Feb. 7 report, short-sellers eviscerated Soho House — pronouncing it “a zero,” prophesying it would “meet the same fate” as notorious IPO flameout WeWork — the company’s crisis of cool had already been years in the making. The publicly listed private members club, a seeming oxymoron bearing the sticker symbol Shco, has for years faced brickbats about how it shed its exclusive appeal: It morphed from a Hollywood-favored hangout with just a few outposts in London, Manhattan and Los Angeles into an international empire of 42 locations with a quarter million dues-paying clients. But now, along with serious allegations about its accounting and critiques of its debt levels, the club is also fending off mortifying questions about overexpansion, overcrowding and brand dilution.

Prince Harry returned to the spotlight, albeit briefly, to give an interview in Canada while marking one year to the 2025 Invictus Games. The Duke of Sussex made headlines for what he said — more on that ahead — but, as for why he stepped in front of the camera, a royal author has shared their own theory. It has to do with the ongoing royal family rift and playing a certain “role.”
Harry seized the ‘mature’ role in the February 2024 interview
On Feb. 16, 2024, the last day of Harry and Meghan Markle’s Canada trip promoting the 2025 Invictus Games, the duke’s Good Morning America interview aired. Speaking to the U.K.’s Mirror, royal author Tom Quinn shared why he felt Harry agreed to the interview.
“Harry feels he is the one who has been wronged and that the rest of the family should be happy and grateful he is prepared to try to forgive,...

Prince Harry’s on Hulu. After being interviewed in Canada while promoting the 2025 Invictus Games, scenes of the Duke of Sussex’s conversation are now part of a documentary. According to an expert, the program could be a sign of bigger things to come in the streaming world for Harry or the end of a major business deal.
Harry’s Hulu documentary premiered on Feb. 25, 2024
A little more than a week after he and Meghan Markle traveled to Whistler, Canada, for the Invictus Games One Year to Go events, a documentary all about the visit hit Hulu.
Prince Harry’s Mission: Life, Family and Invictus Games debuted on Feb. 25, 2024. In it, the father of two can be seen in footage from interviews he gave to ABC during the three-day trip.

Prince Harry is sending a message to Netflix, but whether or not it is an intentional snub is yet to be seen.
Netflix has been good to Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, over the last few years.
Harry and Meghan are in year four of their five-year 100 million dollar deal with the popular streaming service Netflix, according to the Guardian.
As reported by Monsters and Critics, there is speculation that Netflix may extend the deal. Bela Bajaria, a creative at Netflix, shared some projects the couple is working on.
The chief content creator shared that Harry and Meghan are working and “they…have… a movie in development, a [scripted] series” with Brandon Riegg, Vice President of Unscripted and Documentary Series at Netflix.
Harry would want to protect that relationship, but instead, he allowed a competitor, Hulu, to stream one of his documentaries.

Prince’s Purple Rain is being adapted for the stage.
The production is based on Albert Magnoli and William Blinn’s 1984 screenplay – which itself was tied into Prince’s studio album of the same name. Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, known for their recent Broadway work on Appropriate, will write the book, with Lileana Blain-Cruz (Skin of Our Teeth) is taking on the role of director.
Starring Prince in his acting debut, the movie Purple Rain grossed close to $100 million worldwide and took home the Oscar for best original score.
Additional details about the play will be announced at a later date.
Late last year, Prince’s estate shared a super deluxe reissue of his 1991 album Diamonds and Pearls, complete with 47 previously unreleased tracks.

Whether or not you agree with Quentin Tarantino’s unsparing assertion that “’80s cinema is, along with the ’50s, the worst era in Hollywood history,” there’s a curiously undeniable truth to his follow-up statement: “Matched only by now! Matched only by the current era.” Revisiting the defining movies of the ’80s from our current perspective at the height of Barbenheimer summer, two things become abundantly clear.
The first is that modern Hollywood would probably need a Barbenheimer every month in order to equal the creative output of a studio system that used to be capable of releasing “Blade Runner” and “The Thing” on the same night as if it were just another Friday. The second is that, in a wide variety of different ways both negative and not, the ’80s provide a perfect match for the movies of our current moment — if not the current moment itself.
Perhaps that...

This post contains spoilers for "House of the Dragon" episode 5.
Every time I tune into a new episode of "House of the Dragon," I wonder what crime our petty, toxic dragon boy, Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith), will commit this week. Because at this point, what has he not done? Daemon's proclivity for dismemberment has led him to headline some of the show's gnarliest, most brutal sequences of violence. He's a master of chaos — he almost sacrificed his life to spite his brother, and his brothel visits have ended with him seducing his niece. He killed (!!!) his wife to inherit her castle. He's either always smeared in blood or spending time smearing others in blood. He is a red flag at its worst. He's ruining familial relationships and trying to kiss his niece at her pre-wedding feast while his brother watches. He's unpredictable; he never lets anyone know his next move,...

Cruel!”, “Completely disgusting!”, “Candy ass!” – these are just some of the barbs that Hollywood stars have unleashed upon each other over the years. But which actors said them? And about whom?
Julia Roberts and Nick Nolte might have been romantically entangled in I Love Trouble, but they also had a few tangles – and not the good kind – with each other off-set. And even though Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams went on to date in real life after The Notebook, it wasn’t exactly love at first sight for those two, either.
A lot of this is ancient history. And the stars and their fans probably want to move on.
But before we bury the hatchet, why not stir the figurative pot a little more, with this long list of actors who have clashed on set…

Director Tim Story’s slasher The Blackening has a killer premise: if all of the characters are Black, who dies first? In the adaptation of 3peat’s Comedy Central short, co-writers Dewayne Perkins and Tracy Oliver strand a group of friends at a remote cottage in the woods for Juneteenth (yes holiday horror!). Unbeknownst to them, the weekend is more than just a reunion: they’re being pitted against a Machiavellian game master intent on deciphering their level of Blackness in order to kill them in the appropriate order.
While the film isn’t Scream levels of meta, The Blackening fuses social commentary about the Black experience in contemporary America with slasher conventions in a highly entertaining fashion. It doesn’t hurt that the characters are extremely likable – to the point that when the bloodshed begins, you worry for their survival because no one is expendable.

A quiet castle. Two days after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Harry greeted mourners outside Windsor Castle and reflected on the loss of his grandmother. "It's a lonely place up there now without her," he told several fans in the large crowd gathered outside her home Sept. 10, as seen in a video captured by The Sun. "Every room she was in, we felt her presence throughout." Harry was joined by his wife Meghan Markle as well as his brother Prince William and Kate Middleton, who were recently given the titles of Prince and Princess of Wales by by King Charles III. This marked the first time in more than two years that the...

It might be summertime but Hulu is delivering hot fall lewks on their murder mystery series “Only Murders in the Building.” Last year star Selena Gomez carried the fashion (quite literally) on her back with stunning burnt orange coats, sunny caps and statement headphones mixed together with bold plaids and turtlenecks. In the wasteland of boring reruns “Only Murders” shook the streaming-verse not only as an exciting whodunnit series, but as a reminder that while the residents of the Arconia might be dead, the fashion of New York City sweater weather was still very much alive and well.
Thankfully, the second season of “Only Murders” is no slouch on the cozy knits and statement coats. In fact, one could argue that the bar has been raised with new cast members Amy Schumer and Shirley MacLaine bringing their own fall fashions. Celebrate the return to podcast sleuthing and cold weather trends...

Office Invasion is the latest in a long line of films to use science fiction as a vehicle to poke fun at society. Writer Gareth Crocker and co-director Fred Wolmarans have come up with an idea that not only takes shots at corporate culture and the treatment of workers, but being a South African film also becomes a fairly direct parable about colonialism.
Three friends Sam, Junior (Sechaba Ramphele; Love on Safari), and Prince work for Ami a corporation that mines a rare metal called Zulcanoid for which there is far more demand than supply.
