Somewhat average platforming affair.

Not the worst SpongeBob SquarePants game out there but definitely not the best, either. The levels are fairly unique and enjoyable, the controls work fine, and the graphics are pretty easy on the eyes. Still, there are times in this game where it feels pretty lifeless and rushed.

Eh, Better Than The Special

SpongeBob's Truth or Square does celebrate the show's 10th anniversary better than the special, but still resulted a mixed bag. It can have a weak execution with a story that doesn't really fit for the game, some of the recycled gameplay from Battle For Bikini Bottom and a bunch of fan service that recycles plot elements from the series. But it can have fun moments with some decent gameplay where you can collect objects from the Tiki Challange, good graphics that sticks to the materials from the show and some charm from the series. Normally I'd say this would be a good recommendation for fans of the licensed games like this one. But I can mostly recommend to SpongeBob fans like in Sponge On The Run, to set their expectations low and treat this like an episode. Or at least the better version of Truth Or Square. It's definitely not the best SpongeBob game, but at least I can appreciate how this celebrated the show's 10th anniversary.

A disappointing fluff fare

Heavy Iron Studios' third and final round with the little yellow sponge is easily their most disappointing one of the trio.

While it is better than the massive pile of poop that is the TV special which this game shares the title of and was also released around the same time, Truth or Square also proves that it does not share any of the same charm or fun that both Battle for Bikini Bottom and The Movie games provided which is a real darn crying shame considering just how good they were.

What happened here Heavy Iron? As a certain Star Wars would say "You were the chosen one!"

At least the controls were decent.
