- TriviaAs a baseball fan, Beckett is thrilled about getting to meet Joe Torre. Though he was the manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers when the episode was shooting, Torre is most famous for managing the New York Yankees from 1996 to 2007. During those eleven years, the Yankees compiled a .605 winning percentage, made the playoffs every year, won four World Series titles, six American League pennants, and ten American League East division titles; Torre himself won AL Manager of the Year in 1996 and 1998.
- GoofsJust after the part where Kate goes to call her father after seeing Joe Torre, Kate and Castle are talking to Bobby Fox at the table in his office. As he is talking about the Field being built he's playing with a bottle of water and the black top is on. Camera cuts to a side view of Bobby and he states things hadn't changed as much as he'd hoped for and the top is now gone. Camera cuts to a shot of Kate and the top is back on again. Shortly after, Bobby picks up the bottle and then goes to take a drink. When the camera cuts back to him, the bottle is gone from the desk. He then proceeds, after some dialogue, to get up and walk over to the drinks counter where he picks up a bottle of water and goes back to the end of the desk where he stands with his arms out telling a story. The top is on then it's off then it's back on again. Finally, he sits back at the desk and the bottle is gone.

Come on, writers! You can do better
I love this show. It is like chocolate: no nutritional value whatsoever, but a guilty pleasure I cannot deny myself now and then. And, digested over an extended period of time, not only instantly happiness-producing, but quite addictive as well.
Usually, I am quite happy with the plot development, since it never is or has been the series' main focus anyway (I would wager a great sum of money that the majority of viewers, at least the female ones, are much more interested in two subplots: 1-when will we learn who killed Kate Beckett's mother?; 2-will Beckett and Castle ever admit to-and act on-their mutual attraction?).
But this episode is so stupid, I cannot even enjoy the "candy factor" properly. Come on! Who really did not see that one coming?! I won't tell, but I would not need to, because apart from the writers, who clearly and criminally underestimate the intellectual capacities of the viewers, everybody will have figured it out from the very first mentioning of the very first clue. It is a formula that has been done before a thousand times, and has been done much better.
I am disappointed. But the interaction between Castle and his daughter is sweet, so that, in a way, saves this episode for me. Nonetheless, I hope the writers will do better next time. No pleasure in eating last year's chocolate easter bunny.
