Christopher Meloni: Detective Elliot Stabler
Quotes
-
Detective Elliot Stabler : Well, the worse Butler's injuries look to the jury, the more sympathy he's going to generate.
Lionel Granger : A man is savagely maimed for life and you think I'm only concerned about how to work the angle.
Detective Olivia Benson : Well, if it quacks like a duck.
-
Detective Elliot Stabler : That son of a bitch. He really thinks he's got the upper hand.
Detective Olivia Benson : Well, he just might after what Rebecca did. She has made a real mess for us.
A.D.A. Alexandra Cabot : And for herself. The D.A's office wants me to charge her with First Degree Assault.
Detective Olivia Benson : Alex, the only reason she was in that courtroom is because you and l begged her to press charges against Peter.
Detective Elliot Stabler : It's not like you forced her to throw acid in his face.
A.D.A. Alexandra Cabot : Now I have to prosecute my own complaining witness. When that's done, I go back to Butler's case. Look how impartial the D.A.'s office is.
-
Captain Donald Cragen : Attempted murder?
Detective Elliot Stabler : The way this guy was plowing through women, he might as well have been shooting a gun into a crowd.
Captain Donald Cragen : We can't get him on rape, so we go after him for spreading HIV? Do we have proof he infected somebody?
Detective Olivia Benson : He's positive, he's slept with hundreds of women, and he's bragging about riding bareback.
-
Captain Donald Cragen : We want to encourage people to get tested, not arrest them.
Detective Elliot Stabler : Butler brags about nailing a different piece of tail every night.
Detective Olivia Benson : Captain, he's just like a rapist. He gets off on hurting women.
A.D.A. Alexandra Cabot : Only he's found a way to injure his victims without technically raping them.
-
Peter Butler : I'm on AQ because I don't have time for dating. I'm a stockbroker.
Detective Elliot Stabler : You really do enjoy screwing people.
-
Dr. Melinda Warner : [to Olivia and Elliot] Even if we get the records, a lot of HlV testing is anonymous, so there are no names, only numbers.
Detective Elliot Stabler : But at least we'll get an idea of how many women he might have given a death sentence to.
Detective Olivia Benson : Melinda, you said it yourself. This guy could be a walking epidemic.
Dr. Melinda Warner : To do this properly, I'll have to screen thousands of HlV samples.
[Elliot and Olivia give her a look]
Dr. Melinda Warner : Have Cabot get a court order for the names of potential infected partners.
Detective Olivia Benson : I know where to start.
Dr. Melinda Warner : There's still a stigma attached to HlV. A lot of people won't talk about it.
Detective Olivia Benson : I'll bring reinforcements.
-
Detective Olivia Benson : I can't say I'd blame the jury if they let Rebecca off.
Detective Elliot Stabler : Well, she did stop Peter from infecting other women. Not that I agree with how she did it.
A.D.A. Alexandra Cabot : But that's just it. If Rebecca goes free, it sends the message to other victims that it's okay to take the law into their own hands.
-
Detective Elliot Stabler : Neighbors said they heard this girl screaming last night, please tell me she went quickly.
Dr. Melinda Warner : No such luck, liver temp indicates she slowly bled out. Time of death is only about an hour ago.
Detective Olivia Benson : [looks at the buildings surrounding the murder scene] So how many people heard her screams, and did nothing?
-
Detective Elliot Stabler : Well, bright side, we may not need a trial. A mob of angry one-night stands will probably kill Butler before we can convict him
