It looks as though Cinemax's Transporter has gotten a flat tire. Deadline reports that the action drama’s executive producers/showrunners Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie have "left over creative differences." The series wil now be run by veteran TV director-producer Steven Shill, at least for the time being. Production on the 12-episode series in Toronto, is currently at ep. 4-5. The show is set for a 2012 premiere, with filming scheduled to continue through November.
Here's the synopsis:
Based on the successful film franchise of the same name created by Europacorp'sLuc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen, this fast-paced series follows the adventures of professional transporter Frank Martin, who can always be counted on to get the job done - discreetly. Operating in a seedy underworld of dangerous criminals and desperate players, his three rules are: Never change the deal, no names, and never open the package. Occasionally, complications arise and rules get broken.

Cinemax has announced that they have started production on the new Transporter television series. This new show is an adaptation of the action-packed Luc Besson and Jason Statham films. Besson is an executive producer on the series, but Statham will not be reprising his role. The role of the Transporter has been filled by Chris Vance (Burn Notice), who I think will end up doing a fine job in the series. I've enjoyed watching the Transporter films, and even though Statham isn't involved with the series I'm still excited about it and willing to give it a shot. It could end up being pretty awesome! The 12-part action series is set to debut on Cinemax in 2012.

There's almost always a Chuck Palahniuk adaptation in the works somewhere at some point, with the most recent being Snuff getting cast. But now IFC.com is reporting that there's a big update on an upcoming adaptation of Invisible Monsters, specifically that the project has finally found a director named Samir Rehem. He's a Canadian director mostly known for Made... The Movie and work on "Degrassi: The Next Generation" and MTV's "Skins", so let's hope he steps up his game. The challenge is in adapting, because it's about Shannon, an ex-model who is missing her lower jaw, and her transsexual friend. Bring it on, Rehem! IFC reports that this update came straight from the producer on Invisible Monsters, named Cameron MacLaren, whose choice of director, they imply, was a hint at the direction they're going. "Fresh-faced high-schoolers they are not, but the characters of Invisible Monsters could benefit from the...
