Atrocious

Being a long time fan of the series I was heavily excited for what awaited me in Bad Ben Benign. I was however not ready for the complete lack of plot and unending walking tour of the Steelmanville road home. I would have much rather eaten a pound of sugar free gummy bears than to receive the "artistic" equivalent of a colonoscopy that is this movie.

The Worst Movie I've Ever Seen
brown-3457630 October 2021
My friends and I watched the other movies and found them campy but enjoyable. This movie, however, is possibly the worst collection of moving pictures ever put on film. The best part was when the main character belched unexpectedly while on the computer. I don't really think the movie had a plot or a purpose. I actually don't know if it qualifies as a movie.

I haven't laughed this hard in a long time

Warning: Spoilers
This movie is obviously a comedy and it shows with Nigel Bach's absolutely ludicrous performance. He basically spends the entire movie getting trolled by ghosts and demons and his overacting and dialogue are so hilarious. He has such a way with words.

There are so many goofy parts in this film that'll make you die from laughter. Parts like when the ghost throws a fake pumpkin at him which knocks him to the ground.

He runs into a closed door and flies backwards. There's a character in the film that's literally just a floating head. There just so many dumb yet funny things.

What makes a lot of these goofy scenes so good is Nigel's reaction. There's a part where the ghost prints what it typed on the computer. Then the ghost prints one sheet that says "f$&@ you" so Nigel responds "f$&@ me? No f$&@ you!" It's just stuff like this that makes this one of my favorite bad Ben films. It's worth checking out!

Times up.

I've watched all the Bad ben films. .. this... its time to move on..... another tour of your house.. talking to yourself.. oh sorry.. your cameras.. this is the first of the bad ben movies I could not finish so cant speak on the ending. I decided to take a tour of my own house instead. It was much more interesting. And you continue to live in a home you know is haunted?? I admit all his movies are entertaining in their own right.. bit this was flat boring. I gave it 2 stars because as an independent fim maker his effects are good.. not great. But I beg you... leave your house and do something different.

Classic Bad Ben

Just fantastic. The special effects this time are the icing on the Bad Ben cake. More ghosts and a mysterious cat even though the camera already is labeled "cat room." Love it. And I wonder if he does his own stunts on this one?

Worst Bad Ben "movie"
toucan_stubs10 September 2022
Like others, I have seen all of the Bad Ben movies, and I think some of them are great considering the context in which they're made (The Way In, The Haunted Highway). Some less so (Pandemic, Crescent Moon Clown).

Bad Ben: Benign, however, is painfully bad, and considering it's the 9th in the series, there's no slack to give it. I'm not sure why Nigel made this one considering there's no story or new ideas, except for the very end of the movie, perhaps to set up the next movie. But it's not enough of a justification for an entire movie of improvised monotony. It expects way too much good will on behalf of the fans.
