MTV News takes a guess at what Lady Gaga will do Sunday during her 'Born This Way' performance.

On Sunday, days after debuting "Born This Way," a splashy dance track about accepting who you are, Lady Gaga is set to take the stage and perform the song for the first time at the Grammys (if you don't count the time she sang part of the chorus at the VMAs back in September).
Gaga's live performances are typically gory, over-the-top spectacles. She died a bloody death onstage during the 2009 VMAs, she played with fire that same year at the American Music Awards and paid tribute to her late pal, Alexander McQueen, at the Brit Awards in 2010.
Last year at the Grammy Awards, the singer didn't miss a beat. She appeared, donning a sparkly getup by Armani...

Could Lady Gaga be performing at the Grammy Awards? Well, if Laurieann Gibson's tweets are to be believed, the answer could be yes. Gaga's choreographer may have spilled the beans about a possible performance via her Twitter account on Tuesday.
"Grammy meeting performance [extraordinaire]!!! On its way... TeamBoomkack," she wrote. She followed up the tweet with a "yes" when a fan inquired if that was a hint that the Born This Way singer would be taking the stage at the big show on February 13. She also retweeted a fan's comment expressing excitement about what Gaga and Gibson have in store for the performance.

In a phone interview with Ryan Seacrest on Los Angeles radio station Kiis-fm on Friday morning (February 5), Lady Gaga talked about the next phase of her Monster Ball Tour — which begins in England on February 18 and carries on through Ireland, Australia and New Zealand before concluding in Japan on April 18 — her dazzling performance with Elton John at the Grammy Awards on Sunday, and even Ozzy Osbourne.
Typically for Gaga, the show will be a completely different production from the one that recently concluded in the U.S. "It's a glam, drug-addict opera that's pretty amazing," she said excitedly. "It's still called Monster Ball, but it's more of a musical and less of a concert.

Taylor Swift performs at the 52nd annual Grammy awards

At some point, this all has to end, right? All week long, MTV News and our very vocal readers have been talking about the so-called "Taylor Swift Backlash," which started after her performance — and subsequent Album of the Year win — at Sunday night's Grammy Awards. It picked up steam on Tuesday, when we declared that people shouldn't hate on Swift, then went into overdrive with comments from MTVNews.com readers, both opposed to and in support of the country-pop star.
And the debate continues to rage. On Thursday, we published a third story based solely on reader comments, and the response to the response was so great that, well, we're back with a fourth. But in an added twist, this time the...

Jay-z and Beyoncé are notorious for keeping their private life just that. Rarely do they speak about each other in interviews, and they skillfully avoid public displays of affection. So, when Beyoncé told her hubby that she loved him onstage at the Grammys on Sunday night, no one was more surprised by her televised proclamation of love than Jay-z himself.
"I'd love to thank my family for all of their support, including my husband. I love you," she said while accepting her Best Female Pop Vocal Performance award.

While fans and detractors are still in a heated debate over Taylor Swift's Grammy performance on Sunday night, Scott Borchetta, CEO of Swift's label Big Machine Records, is defending the Album of the Year winner's shaky vocals.
"She is the voice of this generation," Borchetta told The Associated Press of his artist, who won four Grammys on Sunday night. "She speaks directly to [her fans], and they speak directly back to her. This is not 'American Idol.' This is not a competition of getting up and seeing who can sing the highest note. It's still going on, and it shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon: It's the Great Taylor Swift Backlash Debate, and it continues to rage among MTVNews.com readers.
It all started Tuesday when we published our "Why You Shouldn't Hate on Taylor Swift" article, a response to the backlash following Swift's Album of the Year win and performance with Stevie Nicks at the Grammys. The story was greeted with such response that we published a second article, this one letting the T.Swift haters of the world have their say.
Their voices were so strong that we figured we should let some of Swift's supporters have the floor too, and judging from the comments that story got, we figured both sides weren't going to be losing steam anytime soon.

It wasn't difficult to do — what, with Beyoncé and Taylor Swift winning a combined 10 trophies — but after Sunday night's Grammy Awards, most people found themselves brimming with a renewed sense of what the Spice Girls (and many others) have termed "Girl Power."
Then, there were people like Paramore's Hayley Williams, who had the "Girl Power" bug long before the Grammys even got underway — and not just because she fronts one of the biggest pop/rock acts on the planet, either. Seems she's recently fallen under the spell of one Lady Gaga, too.
"I think it's amazing to have female artists that write their own material and they put all the work in," Williams told MTV News on the Grammy red carpet.

I suppose this was inevitable. Actually, I knew it was.
Given Taylor Swift's career trajectory — from sweet-faced Nashville ingenue (who wrote her own songs!) to super-duper country-pop megastar (who used to date the beefy dude from "New Moon"!) in less than four years — it seemed like a backlash was unavoidable. After all, this is what we, as a culture, tend to do in situations like this. It's in our nature to knock folks down from the pedestals we've put them on.
Still, I'm sort of amazed at the acrimony with which Swift is being assaulted. Yes, I'm aware that the Internet has much to do with it ... after all, it provides not only...

It should be no surprise that major wins and performances by some of last year's biggest-selling artists helped lift the ratings for Sunday night's 52nd annual Grammy Awards.
A buzz-inducing performance from Lady Gaga and Elton John, a stunning aerial show from Pink and talked-about nominations for Taylor Swift and Beyoncé helped boost ratings by 35 percent over last year's show. After eight long years between albums, the veteran soul singer reclaimed his crown, winning two awards (Best Male R&B Vocal Performance for "Pretty Wings," and Best R&B Album for BLACKsummers'night) at Sunday's Grammy Awards. Indeed, it was a clear indication that, much as his still-rabid fans have shown, people — including the Academy — love a comeback. And, from the sound of things, it's gonna be a long year for Blink fans.
"We're about to start working on it. I'm gonna try to wrap up my album and, uh, Tom has his band, he's wrapping up that album, and then...

Sunday night's 52nd annual Grammy Awards crammed a total of 16 performances into three and a half hours. Along the way, some of the biggest names in music stepped up to the plate to deliver their signature hits and team up with favorite contemporaries or beloved icons.
There was Lady Gaga's stunning show-opener with Elton John, Beyoncés run through Alanis Morissette's "You Oughta Know," the moving tribute to Michael Jackson with Usher, Carrie Underwood, Celine Dion, Smokey Robinson and Jennifer Hudson, and Taylor Swift's tag-team with Stevie Nicks.

When MTV News spoke to Travis Barker on Friday, he was pretty much in the dark about his Grammy-night performance with Lil Wayne, Drake and Eminem, saying, "I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing yet."
So on Sunday night, immediately following that performance, he was pretty amazed — not to mention a bit relieved — that they had all managed to pull it off.
"Aw man, it was so fun," Barker said. "They're all professionals. I think we went through the song one time all together — that was it — and everyone nailed their part. It was real cool, man, to work with such talented people."
With only one rehearsal under their belts, the fabulous foursome managed to turn in one of the standout performances of Grammy night,...

With her Album of the Year Grammy win, there's not much the country star hasn't accomplished yet.

At the ripe old age of 20, Taylor Swift has accomplished a lot. She's broken chart records, sold millions of albums and won Grammys, VMAs, AMAs and CMAs. She has even launched her own clothing and greeting card lines. There's very little she hasn't accomplished.
And, after Swift's four Grammy wins on Sunday night, including Album of the Year, many fans may be asking: What is next for the country pop superstar? Actually, she's got a whole lot more planned for 2010.
Swift is currently working on a follow-up to her 2008 release, Fearless. She recently tweeted that she's been in the studio with the same crew behind the successful album. "Studio-ness with all the same boys who played on Fearless. Homemade cupcakes were brought. Awkward fist-pumps happened.

The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, Jan. 31 promises to be music's biggest night ... and also ladies night.
Beyonce Knowles, Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga (left) made such an impact 2009, and they're well represented at the Grammy Awards with several nominations apiece.
Besides the usual performances and outrageous fashions (how can she sit in that?), this year's telecast also features a rare appearance by Michael Jackson's children, Prince Michael and Paris, who will accept a lifetime achievement award on behalf of their late father.
If you need to steal away during the festivities, no worries, we'll be recapping all of the show's highlights.
All times are Eastern.
8:00 p.m. - We've been promised some Lady Gaga for the opening, and there she is! She's left behind the Milky Way Galaxy red carpet look and instead is wearing a sparkly turquoise poofy Judy Jetson number with glitter mask to perform "Poker Face.

The 52nd edition of the Grammy Awards decided to put a ring on it and embraced its feminine side, making history in the process.
With several major awards going to female artists and show-stopping performances by a strutting Beyonce, a fiery Lady Gaga and a high-flying Pink, girl power was in full force Sunday at Staples Center.
By the time it was over, the night had to be shared by two: Beyonce, who made history as the first woman to walk away with six statuettes in one evening, and Taylor Swift, whose "Fearless" was named album of the year.
The tone was set early when Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Swift collected multiple awards during the rapid-fire pre-telecast presentation.

Big names in music industry had come out to the Staples Center on Sunday, January 31 for the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, and among those stealing the red carpet spotlight was Carrie Underwood. The 26-year-old country star, who is nominated for two Grammys, sparkled in her silvery white floor-length gown with silver strappy detailing on her shoulders.
While Underwood dressed to impress for the red carpet, another musician Lady GaGa showed off her unique style once again. The dance electronica singer, who is up for five awards for the night, was spotted on the red carpet in a custom-made Giorgio Armani Prive gown. Sported a shiny, silvery, three-dimensional dress, she promised other outfits for the night.

The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards is officially kicked off Sunday, January 31 with the arrival of celebrities especially people in music industry to the red carpet. As usual, stealing the runway is Lady GaGa who appears with yellower hair and a complicated solar system-themed gown.
Turns out the gown that shows off her leg is one design by Georgio Armani. "I am honoured to be wearing Armani this evening. The series of pieces Mr. Armani created for me are truly iconic; they represent not only beautiful fashion, but my spirit and essence as an artist," she says in a statement to the press. GaGa, who is scheduled to perform later that night, adds there will be a lot more costume changing later.
From the guy's side, Adam Lambert is very Adam Lambert. He sparkles with his suit which has glittery details and heavy eye make up which becomes his glam signature.

Its the last day of January already. How did that happen? I know I happen to exist on special tropical weather time, where the lack of seasons occasionally skews my perception of time, but even I'm a little surprised that we're surging forward into February already. Now, as those of you who live in places that actually get cold know, February lasts about four times as long as any other month. Or at least it did when I lived somewhere with winter, and having Valentine's Day stuck there in the middle did not do anything to alleviate the funeral dirge-like quality of the month. But that's what we've got to look forward to in February, well, and the Superbowl next weekend but I'm sure there's plenty of you who care even less about that. I can tell we're getting into February because I have a bunch of actual work to...

The 52nd annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast this Sunday (Jan. 29), and it's the ladies that are leading many of the major categories. Beyonce and Taylor Swift had ten and 8 nominations each, but Lady GaGa -- a critical and commercial favorite -- may nab all the statues in her five. Jay-z, Maxwell, Kings of Leon, Black Eyed Peas and others are all trying to make their showing as well. HitFix critic Melinda Newman picks through each of the major categories and predicts her winners. Will Swift take home more than numbers leader Beyonce? Will Phoenix now re-define what is...

The 52nd annual Grammy Awards air Sunday from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and it's sure to be a star-packed night. Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Kanye West and Jay-z lead the nominees, and what we're most looking forward to is some good old-fashioned Grammy wagering.
We love gambling. Some people might even say we're addicted to it. And while we can totally quit whenever we want, the Grammys are perhaps the most excellent betting event of the year. Wagering on them is basically like wagering on which way the wind will blow or what color socks that dude in the cubicle next to you will wear tomorrow: The results are almost completely random, which really spices things up.
Still, there are those out there...
