Good, more comedy and an ex wife add to the banter
greg-201-51978926 June 2012
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of those comedic ones

Ex wife is defending a gold digging younger wife accused of murdering her elder husband.

Lightman is on the other side and taking the mickey out of proceedings, but does sometimes go a bit far acting like a cross between Rain man and a drunk.

Having flagrantly disobeyed any laws and flouted any rules he talks to the accused and believes she isn't guilty so switches sides.

Jennifer Beales and Tim Roth work well together with some snappy banter, and she looks pretty damn hot.

Turns out the widow might not be snowy white however.

If this were real I would expect the Judge to go ballistic, however light entertainment allows licence here.

There is a nice twist at the end.

The Old Man and the Beauty

Dr. Lightman is hired by Prosecutor Crosby to testify in the case of the beautiful Clara Musso, accused of killing her wealthy husband Victor Musso, who was thirty years older than she. However, when he learns that her defense attorney is his ex-wife Zoe Landau and in a short interview with Clara, he realizes that she is innocent. Victor's son says that Clara is a gold digger and have had sex with him, but Cal finds that he is lying. But Cal decides to investigate the case and learns what have happened and why Victor was killed.

"The Whole Truth" is an entertaining episode of "Lie to Me", with a good story but that can not be taken seriously. The erratic behavior of Dr. Cal Lightman in the court would be enough to send him to prison for a period for contempt of court order. But the crime is well-resolved by Cal, and it is hard to understand why Victor Musso did not write a letter to prove the innocence of his beloved wife. My vote is eight.
